YOUTH AMBASSADOR CHARGE NIGERIAN YOUTHS TO SELF RELIANT

Sunday Adam Jos

Youths as it is said are the bedrock of any society. There is no gainsaying that the rising and falling of any community lies with the youth. It’s divinely arranged that young people learn easily and are full of strength, vigour, vision, wisdom and immeasurable knowledge.

According to the United Nations website, “Green skills are the knowledge, abilities, values, and attitudes needed to live in, develop, and support a sustainable and resource-efficient society.”

“These include technical knowledge and skills that enable the effective use of green technologies and processes in occupational settings, as well as transversal skills that draw on a range of knowledge, values, and attitudes to facilitate environmentally sustainable decisions in work and in life,”

As we celebrate this unique day; the International Youth Day, it is also pertinent to draw the attention of the Nigerian Youths to the following;

International Youth Day 2023 will emphasise how the youth of today can integrate and apply green skills to foster environmentally responsible choices both in their professional endeavours and daily lives.
The theme for this year is apt and timely. If a young person is gifted, the evidence of such gift should be seen through his behaviors, creativity and changes he/she brings to the table.

President, Kwamkur Samuel Foundation for Justice Peace Development-KSFKwamkur Samuel Vondip Esq said the need for Youth to believe in themselves and their capacity to positively transform situations around them.

Youth must seek and acquire additional skills besides academic or paper qualifications.

Learn more national and international languages for better integration and opportunities.

Must re-examing the purpose and level of their political involvement.
Attention should be given to policies, credibility and past records of political parties and candidates as perimeter upon which support is based not personal relationship or stomach infrastructure as the case maybe.

Youths must avoid being use as thugs at all times. A careful research has shown that must politicians that take advantage of young people as thugs have better programs and plans for their biological children to take over leadership after them.

Priority should be given to dignity of labour and hard earned resources rather than dirty gains or “bemming” (comrades understand this).

Learn and acquire principles of balance assessment and criticism far and above the usual political affiliation sidings.

Understand the principles of advocacy for good governance above selfish lobbying for personal gains.

Young persons must consciously identify credible leaders and seek to be mentored properly after them.

Most importantly, the Youths should pay attention to our changing climate and be kind to the environment.

It’s trite that as “respect is earned”, so also is leadership taken not given through adequate preparation and understanding of time.

It’s popularly said that if you fail to plan, you have planned to fail.

As we join the world in celebrating the International Youth Day, may Nigeria Youth arise to take their place in the comity of society. It is possible!

Sunday Adam Jos

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, is deeply saddened by the bloody attack that claimed several lives in the Heipang community of Barkin-Ladi Local Government Area.

He also strongly condemns the recent attacks in some villages in Mangu Local Government Area where more lives were lost.

BEROM YOUTHS DECRY THE KILLINGS OF 21 IN HEIPANG COMMUNITY, BARKIN LADI LGA

Sunday Adam Jos

21 persons have been reportedly killed in an attack in two different villages in Heipang Community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State by fulani militia alongside Bandits

The attackers, who came around 1:26am killed 17 Persons in Batin of Heipang town while 4 persons were killed in Rayogot while 7 Persons sustained fatal injuries

After carrying out the attack in Heipang town, on siting the attackers, vigilante members from Rayogot who were on alert tried to stop them but in the process, 4 persons were killed.

The incident which ought to have ordinarily been averted going by the security alerts given out to all relevant bodies including OPSH, but the attacks were still carried out.

Prior to the attack, there was a robbery incident along Heipang Highway, killing one person and injuring one.

The identity of the criminals was not yet ascertained by all including Security agents, but the entire District has been subjected to impending attacks, which true to fact, was carried out with little or no response to avert it.

Recall that in 2019, there was a similar attack on the Heipang Highway which was later established as to a robbery case. It was traced that the attackers trailed the victims from Kara cattle market in Bukuru only to kill them at Heipang to return to their destination.

It is great concern that despite the security alert, and the presence of security personnel patrolling the community, their was no trace of the attackers.

Also recalled that on the 28/04/2023, there was an attack in Tapo Community of Heipang District leaving 4 persons dead, and BYM made a press statement to the effect that the attack was meted out by Fulani Militias. Surprisingly, Operation Safe Haven-OPSH’ spokesperson, the security body called it a Community clash, contrary to the actual incident that occurred then. Instead of the providing credible evidence, the 4 Sector Commander, Col. U. S. Abdulsalam had threatened the National Publicity Secretary to apologise over the Press Statement at a meeting with some members of the community in attendance.

The BYM wants to made it clear that if OPSH under Sector 4 feels the statement misrepresented the true picture of what transpired, it can explore legal means to seek redress and not to resort to threats and intimidation

It is worthy of mention that, after the attack on Chit village in Heipang which resulted to the dead of 5 persons and over 50 cattles were rustled on the 13th June, 2023 and Sam reported to the security. It was further gathered that the native cattle owners and some youth leaders from Heipang visited the Sector 4 Commander to ask for update on investigation, Col. US Abdulsalam told the delegation that they (Security) tracked the phone that was taken by the attackers, but they are waiting for the DSS to effect the arrest.

Also based on reports available to us, that sometime in June, 2023, the District Head of Heipang insulted by Administrative Officer of Sector 4, saying that the Paramount Ruler is “very stupid” for calling and reporting about a security situation in the area.

Why is it that after the exit of Col. MD Abdulsalam, Security situation is Barkin Ladi summersaults and things went bad as against what the then Commander,Col. M. D. Abdulsalam, who was up and doing and had the general area under unprecedented calmness with no coordinated attack for over two years of his Command?

This, among other things have left us with concerns as to why the lopsided response by the present Sector Commander.

The BYM hereby calls for immediate the redeployment and investigation on the activities of Col. US Abdulsalam.

We equally call on our people to remain calm but under intense vigilance as well as exploring all legal means to protect themselves as none of our dead brothers can ever returned.

MY SUPPORT FOR PLATEAU APC IS 100% ” SGF AKUME AFFIRMS AS HE WELCOMES GOVERNOR LALONG AND PLATEAU APC DELEGATION

Sunday Adam Jos

Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume says his support for the Plateau State APC family remains high as he will continue to work with stakeholders for the success of the party.

The SGF stated this when he received a delegation of APC stakeholders from Plateau State led by leader of the party, former Governor Simon Bako Lalong in his office in Abuja on Monday 17th July, 2023.

Akume while appreciating the Plateau APC delegation for the visit said it was heartwarming to know that Governor Lalong has continued to nurture and hold the APC family together even after leaving office.

He said having worked closely with the stakeholders over the years particularly with Governor Lalong with whom he shares close and warm working relationship, he has personal commitment to ensuring that the Plateau APC structure does not suffer any setback.

He also commended former Governor Lalong for his sagacity and commitment to the ideals of the APC which enabled him to successfully serve as the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council and also lead the party to victory.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation Governor Simon Lalong said they were in the office of the SGF on behalf of the APC family in Plateau State to congratulate him for his appointment and also assure him that he has the support of the people of Plateau State.

Lalong said the stakeholders were very elated that the appointment of the SGF who played a key role in the establishment of the APC fulfils one of the desires of the North Central Zone to be considered for critical positions in the Tinubu administration which they played a great role to actualise.

According to Governor Lalong, the APC family in Plateau State remains intact despite the setback in the last election. He said the party has a very strong case at the Tribunal and is optimistic of reclaiming its mandate when the tribunal completes its assignment.

He said though the APC has no intention of joining issues with the PDP, it has noted with disappointment the attempt to forcefully uproot the structures of the APC in the State through unconstitutional and illegal dissolution of elected Local Government Chairmen when their tenure subsists till 2024 among other infractions.

Lalong said the party will not allow that to happen but will continue to follow the rule of law and maintain peace in the face of all provocations as the APC has the interests of the people of Plateau State at heart.

He urged the SGF to ignore the activities of some elements within the Plateau APC family who severally worked against the party but have now converged to lobby for appointment.

Lalong also assured the SGF that the Plateau APC family is praying for him and will do everything possible to ensure that he succeeds in his assignment.

On the delegation was Chairman of the APC in Plateau State Hon. Rufus Bature, Plateau APC Gubernatorial candidate Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda and his running mate Hon. PLATEAU INITIATIVE FOR DEVELOPMENT AND ADVANCEMENT OF THE NATIVES SADDENED BY ATTACKS

Sunday Adam Jos

The Plateau Initiative for Development and Advancement of the Natives, PIDAN, the umbrella body of the 56 indigenous ethnic Nationalities in Plateau State is saddened by the resurgence of the circle of the daily annihilation of our people by some suspected Fulani herdsmen and Marchants of deaths; and the destabilization of the relative peace in Plateau State of late.

These resumed dastardly well coordinated acts, which started in Riyom, spreading to Bassa, Barkin Ladi and Bokkos, has now shifted it’s weapons of mass destruction to Mangu Local Government Area of the State.

In the attacks on Riyom, Bassa, Barkin Ladi and Bokkos, many lives were loss, property, farmlands and houses or villages were razed beyond recognition.

Not satisfied with it’s wicked plans, these heavily armed and trained sponsored militia have turned their arsenals on Mangu Local Government Area.

In their evil voyage, the assailants have invaded and in commodor manner attacked and ravaged about 52 villages in some 6 districts of the local government, where about 200 innocent people were killed, their homes, property and farmlands destroyed.

The districts mostly affected by the circle of annnniliation by the haters of the state in Mangu LGA include Bwai with 70 people killed; Kombun, 5; Mangu, 70; Panyam Branch, 22; Pushit, 17 and Kerang, 8. In their continued evil drive, these groups of people invaded and killed about 12 people over the weekend at Sabon Gari area of the same Local Government Area. These are corpses that have been recovered and buried, while others may have rotten, since there is no access to some areas.

We decided to go into these details to create an understanding of the ongoing massacre of our people and highlights the heinous acts meted on our innocent and defenceless brothers and sisters by these killers.

As at date, the magnitude of the damage these attacks have caused to the people cannot be quantified. Apart from the psycohlogical trauma the deaths and destruction they have caused, these once hardworking persons have been left without homes, farmlands and are turned into Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs.

While we call for quick rehabilitation of the affected, we appeal to both the State and Federal Governments to step up actions to salvage the current situation in Mangu, Riyom, Bassa, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi, as well as safeguard and secure the whole State.
Both Governments should move beyond press statements to taking the bold steps of arresting and taking appropriate actions against all those found to be involved in these ungodly acts.
We commend the GOC, 3 Armoured Division, for relocating his base to the troubled Mangu LGA, and urge him to go full blast after the perpetrators and their sponsors. They should also trace their hideouts , bases and destroy same.

While we sympathize with the affected, PIDAN is appealing to all the citizens of the state to take these attacks as collective, and should therefore be of assistance and ready to defend whoever is affected. Injury to one is injury to all of us.We should bury our respective divides and join forces to fight the common enemy.

We should strengthen our community defense mechanisms and be on the alert. We should learn to question and report suspicious persons and movements; and should avoid harbouring unknown persons and of questionable characters/backgrounds.

We appeal to the Plateau State Government to empower the traditional institution to register and have the power to sent away people, they suspect have dubious motives.

We further appeal to the State Government to lias with the Federal Government to find ways to strengthen Operation Rainbow beyond it’s present level, for more effective performance and or output.

While PIDAN sympathizes and consoles with the Government and affected, we say enough is enough, and call on our people to rise up to the occasion of defending our God given land, and return it to the home Depot of PEACE and TOURISM slogan, by reporting appropriately any suspicious persons, moves or actions they notice.

Finally, we are aware of the antics of some unpatriotic elements, whose stock is to create falsehood and deride constituted authorities. We are particularly irked by the actions and comments of the Secretary of Miyiti Allah Association of Mangu LGA, one Muhammed Salihu Musa, where he not only spread falsehood but the already tensed situation in Mangu. He also tried to drag the innocence of His Excellency, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and the image of our well organized Security Outfit, Operation Rainbow, to the mud.
We call on the security agencies to arrest him to substantiate his claims.

PLSG denies approaching Jaiz Bank for N15bn loan

The Plateau State Government has denied rumors making the rounds that it has approached Jaiz Bank for the purpose of obtaining a loan of N15 billion.

According to the government, it has instead  approached the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to procure a loan of 15 billion naira.

It explained that the loan being processed was to be used to settle the 11.5 billion naira salary backlog accumulated by the previous administration.

The government added that the balance would be used to procure fertilizer for farmers for the current farming season.

It said that the government’s decision became necessary because the Mutfwang administration was pragmatic and wished to fulfill its campaign promises to civil servants and farmers in the State.

The government in a statement issued on Thursday in Jos by Mr Nuhu Abok, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legislative Duties, therefore, urged the public to disregard social media reports claiming that the state government was already processing such a loan from Jaiz Bank.

The statement reads in full below:

DISREGARD SOCIAL MEDIA ASPERSIONS, STATE GOVERNMENT IS PROCESSING LOAN FROM UBA NOT

Dear people of Plateau, with no prejudice against any bank operating in the State, but in order to set the record straight. It has become apparent that our citizens need to be enlighten once again regards to activities of a Government of which they voted in not long ago. To uphold the love and trust of the people, the Mutfwang administration is on toes to delivering such desired/expected changes and to drive progress in Plateau.

May I therefore call on our spirited loving people to please disregard all assumptions, aspersions, impediments and unsubstantiated folklores going round the streets and social media platforms that the state Government is contracting the JAIZ Bank in whatever form, because the State Government has not, is not engage in any form of negotiation or contract with JAIZ Bank at present.

The Government have instead,  approached the United Bank for Africa (UBA) seeking to procure a loan amounted to about 15 billion naira only. This loan being processed is to be used to settle the 11.5 billion naira salary backlog as accumulated by the previous administration and the rest will be used for procurement of fertilizer for farmers.

The above action becomes necessary because the Mutfwang administration is pragmatic and wishes to fulfill it’s campaign promises to civil servants and farmers in the State.

Former Jos North Chairman, Tackles Group Over Alleged N250 Fraud

Sunday Adam Jos

Immediate past Executive Chairman of Jos North Local Government Area, Shehu Bala and a group known as Transparency and Accountability Initiative are in verbal combat over alleged diversion of over N250,993,134 from the Council account  between January and February, 2023.

Transparency Accountability Initiative made the revelation on last Wednesday after what it called a thorough investigation of the financial records of the Council.

Following it’s investigation, it alleged that some of the funds  were paid to some selective councillors who are considered loyal to the former Chairman while some were said to have been disbursed to contractors without evidence of work.

According to the group, there are no documents supporting the procedure for the award of contracts; contracts were not done in accordance with procedures and there are discrepancies with regards to contract sum quotes in the summary sheet bank account statement and budgetary provision.

They claimed, for example, that KEGA MOTORs LTD supplied six vehicles to Jos North LGA at N60,940,500.00 on 15/02/2023 and got paid completely as submitted in the contract summary for Jos North.

The report shows that the first tranche of payment of the contract was in the sum of N25, 000, 317.50 on the 31/01/2023. The total amount paid to KEGA MOTORS LTD is N52,052,317.50.

They observed that the line items in the budget estimate for 2023 was full of repetition suggesting fraudulence. One of the budget item with some economic code appears several times with different estimates.

Also,  there was transfer of N10,000,000 from UBA, Jos North office overhead to capital without overhead availing evidence as well as multiple payment into one CECELIA Azi from overhead account proper definition.

“It was based on some of these allegations that the former Jos North Chairman, Shehu Bala and his counterparts across the 17 Local Government Areas refused to submit themselves for investigation by Plateau State House of Assembly that led to their suspension in Office,” the group said

In a swift reaction, Shehu Bala Usman on Sunday described as unfunded and baseless allegations that he embezzled funds over 250 million from the council’s coffers between January and February this year. He described the group Transparency, Accountability

and Initiative, as faceless.

The former Chairman, noted that, the allegation as the figment of the imagination of the authors who are working in cohorts with his detractors who to tarnish his image.

According to the chairman all documents relating to the award of contracts are usually go through due diligence and are executed according to specifications by the legislature during their oversight functions.

He said the contract awarded to Kega Motors Limited for the supply of six cars followed due process as the motors were supplied and the supplier paid as enshrined in the contract entered into by the two parties

On the allegation of the 2023 budget which is riddled with repetitions suggesting fraud, the chairman noted that, ” that’s false due to the fact that the document passed through the legislative arm of the council which always undergoes scrutiny by the Plateau State House of Assembly before passing it for execution to the executive arm of the Council.’

“T’he transfer of ten million naira from the UBA overhead account to the duo of Ishaya Atu and Cecilia Azi without proper definition is unfounded as every transaction betweent he council and the bank is appropriately captured, followed due process and well documented.

Usman wondered “why a busy-body, faceless group will make spurious allegations when the authority mandated by law has never at any point in time, invited him for any explanation.”

“Allegations by the Transparency , Accountability and Initiative group that these are some of the accusations levelled against the Jos North Council Chairman and his counterparts across the state clearly indicates that the faceless group is doing the bidding of its paymasters.

He advised the “so-called Transparency, Accountability Initiative not to delve into issues that they are not sufficiently familiar with, as the Shehu Bala Usman led administration is running an open and transparent government which has received awards and commendations for been exemplary in its conduct.”

BEROM YOUTHS DECRY TWENTY ONE PERSONS KILLED IN BARKIN LADI/ RIYOM LGAs

Sunday Adam Jos

Following the mass invasions of Communities and villages of Riyom and Barkin Ladi LGAs, Plateau State, twenty one (21) persons have been reportedly killed, many injured and over 40 houses razed down shortly after Sunday Service by fulani militias and their cohorts on Sunday, 11th June, 2023.

Places attacked include Rim, Jol, Kwi and Tashek of Riyom LGA as well as Gana-Ropp Community in Barkin Ladi LGA.

According to information gathered, two (2) persons were killed in Rim Community, six (6) in Jol, Eleven (11) in Kwi while a Clegy, Rev. Nichodemus Kim and son were killed in Gana-Ropp Barkin Ladi LGA.

The shocking fact about the attacks on Rim, Jol and Kwi as well as Tashek were simultaneously carried out by over Two Thousand armed Militias who hailed from Fass, Guava, Rankum (Mahanga) and Bangai of Riyom LGA between the hours of 2pm and 8:00pm.

The sophistry of their weapons incomparably overpowered the Vigilante in Kwi, thereby resulting to the complete burnt done of Hei-gwe village and over a hundred farmlands destroyed.

It is with great concern that these Communities especially, Rim, Jol and Kwi have come under several attacks in the last two weeks. Perplexingly, Sunday’s attack went on for hours, overstretching the inadequate personnel of Sector 6 of Operation Safe Haven-OPSH in their rapid response.

More worrisome is the fact that Mahanga and Fass which are the base of those terrorising these Communities are known, yet, no drastic measures have been made by the appropriate authorities concerned to deradicalize the yet-to-be declared terrorist enclaves.

This has left us with concerns and questions as to whether or not Federal Security can nip the ongoing genocide in the bud since that is Government primary responsibility of safeguarding lives and property.

The BYM under the leadership of Solomon Dalyop Mwantiri, Esq. hereby condemns the coordinated attacks and other forms of provocation meted out on innocent persons of Plateau since after the 2023 General Elections.

We therefore call on the new administration both at Federal and State levels to, as a matter of urgency, rise up to the occasion with new strategies to address the security situation in the country and particularly, Plateau State so as to forestall further degenerative tendencies of the said Fulani militias that have heavily infiltrated the State and its environs..

Security personnel must also wake up to their statutory responsibility to safeguard lives and property.

The BYM equally call on the Berom nation to remain calm and law abiding in all these, but must explore every avenue to defend our Communities as we cannot sit and watch while being killed one after another.

Plateau state government dispels ramour by Distractors

Sunday Adam Jos

Our attention has been drawn to a fictitious statement purportedly written by the enemies of Plateau State and credited to the office of the Director of Press and Public Affairs to the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang.

The fictitious and unfounded misinformation alleges that His Excellency, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has approved the suspension and dissolution of all WhatsApp groups that discuss political activities in the state.

It has therefore become very expedient for us to dispel this misleading and malicious statement aimed at causing disaffection among the citizens.
Government has never and will not contemplate or take such action that infringes on the fundamental rights of citizens.

We wish to reiterate that Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who is a seasoned Legal Luminary, believes in the rule of law and Freedom of Information as enshrined in the freedom of Information Act, that makes public records and information available for public accessibility.

The administration has promised to be open and transparent in governance and has nothing to hide to warrant such alleged action.

We urge members of the public to ignore such statement as it was concocted by mischief makers aimed at misleading members of the public.

Security agencies are therefore asked to beam their searchlight on those behind the misleading statement and make them face the full wrath of the law.

Gyang Bere
Director of Press and Public Affairs to

COURT GRANTS JOSHUA UBANDONA ACCESS TO COUNCIL ACCOUNTS DISMISSES SUIT FILED BY ZULFA

Sunday Adam Jos

A Langtang high Court has dismissed the suit filed by the embattled Chairman of Langtang north local government area Bitrus Zulfa involving zenith Bank plc for freezing the council accounts in August 2022 denying him access to the accounts to enable him pay staff salaries and other related matters in the council ds

Honourable Justice J D Longden while delivering judgement in the matter  dismissed the case said the embatteld chairman had no right to claim the authentic signatory to the account when he was not the elected council chairman and as such cannot be granted access to the council account

He said zenith bank plc were the council funds are kept cannot  in the first place deal with bitrus zulfa because he was never the council chairman

The suspended chairman of Langtang north local government area have been granted access to the accounts of the local government area having been recognised as the authentic chairman of the council

It would be recalled Council Chairman joshua laven ubandona who had initially filed an action against Zenith bank in August 2022  challenging the restriction of the Langtang north account in its custody.

Joshua Ubandoma filed a motion to be joined as a party which was granted.

The court in upholding the objection of the 2nd defendant(Joshua laven Ubandoma) and in dismissing the suit held that the 1st defendant(zenith bank)was right in restricting the account and it is only Joshua laven  Ubandoma that has access to the said account.

Investigations reveal that the court which is the last hope of the common man has once again proved that Joshua laven ubandona remains the authentic chairman of Langtang north local government area have been elected the council chairman but was not sworn in by the then all progressives Congress APC led adminstration of Simon lalong but after a genuine court judgement was sworn in year after his colleagues.

However two years into his tenure the plateau state independent Electoral Commission went ahead to conduct local government elections despite court judgements saying there was no vacancy in the council, this election produced the embatteld Bitrus Zulfa as chairman ,”again l want to court and get a judgement which the then APC led adminstration refuse to honour and l believe that with this judgement it has put to rest the lingering crisis that have rocked and denied Langtang north democratic dividends.

REJOINDER: TEXT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE ADDRESSED BY THE ALL PROGRESSIVE CONGRESS (APC) PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER AGAINST THE SUSPENSION OF DULY-ELECTED LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCILS IN PLATEAU STATE

Sunday Adam Jos

(House of Assembly Complex, JD Gomwalk Rd, Jos — Plateau Local Government Structures Suspension, PLHA Deserves Commendation Not Vilification)

5th June, 2023.

I read with concern, the Plateau APC’s unwarranted attack on the Plateau State House of Assembly, particularly the Speaker, Rt Hon Abok Nuhu Ayuba in it’s latest press conference supposedly held at the party’s office in Jos. The released would ordinarily not have elicited a response if not for the need to set the records straight.

Though the suspension was necessarily, and unavoidably due to the declined in relevance and administrative Impropriety evinced by the Local Government Council’s financial dealings under counseling of the APC, the mastermind have chosen to single out the State Assembly and particularly the Speaker as subjects for attack in its attempt to cover for the party and it’s former Rescue Administration’s gigantic failures and gross financial irregularities while in power. Be rest assure that the House of Assembly under the leadership of Speaker Abok have began and shall continue to unearth all irregularities carried out by the past APC led administration, made manifest to Plateau and forward them to appropriate financial anti corruption agencies for proper prosecution.

Now what offense, if I may ask, has the House of Assembly committed or omitted to deserve such unwarranted bullying and blackmailing by the opposition? By the APC’s admission, the offense of the House of Assembly has since from the past administration being the boldness of the Legislature to speaking and acting the Plateau interest regardless of whose ox it stamped, the Assembly’s quest to restoring good governance and now, it’s attempt to reshaping the Local Government administrative structures in Plateau State.

It is baffling, that such a robust action in defense of Plateau Commonwealth and accountability in the grassroots administration should anger a party which is also a product and benefactor of the State creation, it is indeed strange. Yes, the APC in Plateau have the leverage to cry, miss, wail, and to expressed it’s displeasures repeatedly over the dismembership of the Speaker and his teaming young political foot soldiers from its fold, but the party must again come to the realization that Abok has since resigned and have now settle-in comfortably with the most widely accepted political party in Plateau (the PDP), Abok has cloth himself with the will to performing and completing his oath of allegiance, outright duties to Plateau State first.

Following the APC’s utterances and defenses for a while have given me a clear picture of it’s State of consciousness, in my understanding, the APC is assuming that by the virtue of the Speaker haven left the party, he has also, however, forfeited his fundamental rights of leading the State Legislative Arm and the right to acting on issues of interest to Plateau State.

The opposition’s attempt to strip the House of Assembly of it’s constitutional powers of oversight instead, especially over the Local Government’s, in championing the course of Plateau because it is seriously affected by these changes is an aberration. That it’s selected imposed LG structures have fell out of place and can no longer remit financial commitment to their individual treasuries, the APC in Plateau have been rendered totally illogical. But the House of Assembly by carrying out it’s oversight functions on suspending the Local Government Structures in the State was trying to communicate the Plateau citizens that not only at the State level, our Local Governments also must begin to function for good and begin to account for every single penny.

Contrary to the APC’s claims, there is nothing hypocritical or selfish about the recommendations of the House of Assembly and the prompt action taken by the State Government to effectively execute the Assembly’s recommendation regards to the suspension of the Local Government Structures. It is pathetic and regrettable that instead of joining other millions of Plateau citizens in appreciating the patriotic action of the State Assembly and the new State leadership role in restructuring the Local Government Council’s in Plateau State, the APC has chosen to interpret otherwise.

May I finally, hereby State it clear again, I had in the past severally alleged to the APC in clear terms, since the inception of happenings in the State House of Assembly that Abok will return as Speaker and that he will preside over plenaries, restore the dignity and sanctity of the State Legislative Arm, make Plateau work again, and that he shall preside over the valedictory session of the 9th Assembly and handover to the 10th Assembly. Kudus to the vision of the Greener Plateau Administration and so shall Plateau continue to prosper under the chilling shade of the green umbrella.y

Joshua laven ubandona while speaking to journalist said again the court which is the last hope of the common man has once again proved that he remains the authentic chairman of Langtang north local government area have been elected the council chairman but was not sworn in by the then all progressives Congress APC led adminstration of Simon lalong but after a genuine court judgement was sworn in year after his colleagues.

GOVERNOR CALEB MUTFWANG OFFERS SUGGESTION TO PROLONGED PDP CRISIS

Sunday Adam Jos

…as Bauchi, Rivers Governors emerges Chairman, Vice Chairman PDP Governors’ Forum

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has offered suggestions on how to resolve the prolonged bickerings within the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) at the National level.

Barr. Mutfwang made the suggestion at a question directed to him on how he resolved the crisis in the Plateau State chapter of the party during a retreat for elected officials of the party, held at the New Banquet Hall, Government House, Bauchi State.

The Governor, who leveraged on the Plateau experience that culminated in the overwhelming victory of the party at the just concluded Governorship election in the state, insisted that leaders must walk their talk and be level-headed in dealing with other party faithful.

Barr. Mutfwang who gave a step- by -step explanation on how the party was able to galvanize and build confidence on aggrieved members of the party in Plateau State, said a lot was achieved through dialogue and sincerity of purpose.

“What we did on the Plateau was that, we reached out to critical leaders within the party. We tried to break barriers which required a great deal of humility because some of those leaders where quite difficult.

“But we humbled ourselves, build bridges of peace, engaged in dialogue and most of the times, we got others involved in trying to make sure that everyone came on board. Of course, we didn’t have hundred percent success, some still remained recalcitrant but we maintained our focus and we were able to gather the rank and file of the party behind us as we went into the elections.

“There was alot of give and take and we must be willing to humble ourselves and walk the talk and put aside our egos; because the fight sometimes is all about ego, and if we are able to put aside our egos, we can get alot of milestones in this reconciliatory process.

“I urge the party to set up the machinery and identify leaders who will be able to have the level-headedness to lead the party to the discussion table”, he submitted.

Former Vice President and Presidential Candidate of the PDP in the 2023 General Elections, Alh. Atiku Abubakar preached peace and unity in the party.

TASK AHEAD OF CALEB MUFWANG…LANGTANG NORTH, PLATEAU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY SAGA PENDING.

Sunday Adam Jos

Barely 24 to the swearing in ceremony of plateau state governor elect Barrister Caleb Mufwang as the sixth executive governor of plateau state anxiety, fear and tensions mount following the political crisis that have engulfed the plateau state House of assembly following the sealing of the assembly complex by the commissioner of police Bartholomew onyeka on the alledged orders of the outgoing governor Simon lalong

The crisis in the state assembly is as a result of a high court Judgement which restated Abok Nuhu Ayuba as the authentic speaker of the assembly ,with this judgement which is declaratory made the speaker Abok to resume and held seating with about 14 members in attendance both from the Rulling all progressives Congress APC and opposition people’s democratic party PDP but in a twist of faith the Rulling party led by the embattled speaker Yakubu sanda processed to the court to appeal the judgement while pending the appeal to be hard, the police sealed the assembly complex according to him to avoid break down of law and order

However the speaker alongside members approached him several to unseal the house of assembly he refused saying he is acting according to the rule of law which Abok disagrees.

This singular act by the police commissioner has not go down well with both the political class and residents of the state, appeals by the while calling on the state governor Simon lalong to order the police commissioner proves abortive which stakeholders perceive as undemocratic, however with few hours to the swearing in ceremony of Caleb Mutfwang as governor Wil he allow the illegality be done to his sway.

This is a big question been asked by residents of the state on what will be the position of the governor elect Caleb Mutfwang ahead of his taking over as the six executive governor of the party.

While in Langtang north where an illegal chairman in person of Bitrus zulfa has continue to occupy the office despite  several valid court judgements by both the high and appeal courts which gave the actual winner Joshua laven ubandona as the rightful chairman whose tenure is yet to end

Recall that Joshua ubandona was elected executive chairman in the September 2018 under the people democratic party PDP for a tenure of three years were he defected the then candidate of the all progressives Congress APC but ubandona  was not sworn in by the outgoing governor Simon lalong who blantly refused to allow his take oath of office but ubandona a man who believes in the justice system proceeded to the courts which complied the governor to swear him in one year 2019 but barely two years to his tenure the APC led adminstration conducted a controversial elections having known of no vacancy in Langtang north but still want ahead with the elections were one zulfa claimed to have won the elections

This action don’t go down well with the chairman Joshua ubandona proceeded to the court of appeal which gave him judgement but still the powers that be alongside the Police commissioner Bartholomew onyeka refused to obey valid court orders leading to the continuous occupation of an impostor as the executive chairman of Langtang north local government area

The task ahead of Caleb Mutfwang now as he takes over the helm of affairs of the state is to handle the mararound of issues facing the incoming adminstration two of which is the complete restoration of Joshua ubandona as the chairman of Langtang north and the unsealing of the state House of assembly for Abok Nuhu Ayuba to take over the affairs of the house.

Plateau is watching as Caleb Mufwang takes over tomorrow may 29th what will it be legality or illegality.

The  body is governed by 30 diverse and seasoned global PPP practitioners through Steering and Executive committees. The exclusive WAPPP membership comprises 60 nationalities of over 300 members and only about 40 PPP units globally. We look forward to supporting Felix Rwang-Dung and his team to succeed by promoting sustainable and successful PPP projects in Plateau state going forward. From the conversations I had with Felix on Plateau state, it seems to be richly endowed with diverse natural resources and most favourable climate to foreigners, this can likely encourage international investment interests especially since Plateau is also noted as a tourist destination in Nigeria. However, it seems a lot needs to be done for an enabling environment for this to be realisable.”

She stated that, “the presence and participation of your PPP Unit of Nigeria in the WAPPP General Assembly 2023 at Athens, Greece, earlier in the month was highly appreciated. We have already started experiencing demonstrable value from WAPPP even before the membership confirmation. In February, from some discussions with WAPPP Africa Chair, Primah Atugonza, she advised and directly introduced the me to the General Counsel of Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG), Mr. Tinashe Makoni, who we explore various ways project preparation funding support requirements, challenges and initiatives for us to consider.

He was instrumental in securing our membership and has become a very strategic contact. I am also very honored that he accepted to be a pro-bono Advisory board member of Plateau state PPP Agency. This has significantly boosted our local capacity in planning and developing our infrastructure projects going forward to align with global best practice.

As his first priority assignment on the Plateau PPP agency advisory board, Mr. Johnson has been requested to help develop a mutually beneficial model for collaboration between the relevant authorities in Kenya and Tanzania for the donation of wild life animals for the restocking and redevelopment of the Jos wild life Park as an Eco-tourism project. Mr Johnson is also helping us identify strategic Kenyan investors in the flower industry to explore how they can set up similar facilities here on the Plateau. Caleb Mutfwang has described as landmark, the ruling of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos that dismissed the petition filed by Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) seeking the cancellation of his election after the April 18, 2023 Governorship election.

Barr. Mutfwang in a statement on Friday, dedicated his victory to God and Plateau people who willingly entrusted him with their mandate during the polls.

He said the decision of the panel presided by Justice R. Irele-Ifijeh which dismissed the petition for lack of diligent prosecution shows how forthright and determined the tribunal is to dispense justice.

GOVERNOR LALONG’S MANDATE SUBSISTS TILL MAY 29TH 2023

Sunday Adam Jos

It has again become necessary for the Plateau State Government to once again remind citizens, corporate bodies and other stakeholders that the mandate of Governor Simon Bako Lalong still subsists untill 29th May 2023.

This reminder has become necessary because of pronouncements, covert and overt actions of some persons and groups with the aim of truncating the remaining mandate of the Lalong administration before it hands over to the next Government.

In particular, the Government is aware of letters and correspondences being written to corporate organisations, clients and partners of Government warning them to cease doing business with the current administration before the end of its mandate.

Similarly, civil servants have been constantly under threat since the outcome of the elections and have remained under this situation till this moment.

The Government views this as a threat and blackmail which is in bad taste and a very sad development that does not portend well for the well-being and stability of the State.

For the avoidance of doubt the Lalong administration will not be stampeded, gagged or harassed from performing its legitimate duties based on the mandate given to it by the good people of Plateau State till 29th May 2023 by anyone including the incoming administration.

Therefore, corporate organisations, clients, partners and stakeholders doing business with Government should ignore such threats from incoming government or its supporters that appear to be faster than their shadow and willing to disrupt governance for their selfish reasons.

Let it be realised that there can never be two captains in one ship and that is why the constitution extantly provides for take over and handover dates.

We advise the incoming government and its supporters to exercise restraint and concentrate on the transition as well as the task ahead while allowing the Rescue Administration to complete its tenure as enshrined in the constitution.

Let’s continue to think and Act Plateau.

Dan Manjang, mnipr
Commissioner for Information and Communication.
25th May 2023.

The legislative arm principal officers demanded that the statutory benefits payments should be paid to enable them enjoy and make good use of the money .

According to him, ” they wanted the money to be paid in buck so that they won’t have issue but in my own wisdom I explainer to them the condition of lean resources available to the council which can’t accommodate all of them at once so we have segment it in batches .

“The agreement we all reached was that the first legislators would benefit N1.5 million each which the council was able to upset the payments of 500,000.00 and 1,000,000.00 as the phase 1, hoping to do same when funds is available,”he said .

Shehu denied that after sealing the discussion with the leadership some of them complained that they were sidelined in the sharing formula which is not true .

“We had an emergency meeting with all the members of legislative arm yesterday, Sunday and we all reached an agreement to suspend the method of payment and the leaders explained to them that it wasn’t the Chairman idea but they brought it on table to allow all members to enjoy the furniture allowances and other entitlements before the expiration of the tenure,he said .

He stated that only 8 members of the legislative arm denied that they were not contacted by the leaders of house before such decision was enforced so they have to reverse the entire agreement which was taken sitting on Sunday .

“As they refused that they were not consulted the house unanimously step down that agreement so we resolve to continue paying those who claim they were not consulted first so that is the development that took place yesterday Sunday ,21st of May,2023 at the council headquarters.

Shehu reiterated that ,”

All we are saying is that the council  has reversed the method because some were not consulted from beginning of the discussion before embarking on the said agreement reached but however, we promised to step aside the leaders decision to ensure that members benefited from the furniture allowances as enshrined in the constitution “,.

The leader of the legislative arm ,Hon Yakubu Itse confirmed to this medium the view of the Chairman but said they suggested to him on how their members would make good use of the money if payments are to be made at once .

Itse bappealed to the affected councillors to remain calm “as everyone must be paid because that is their statutory benefits and nobody can deny them ,the Chairman try to clear everybody but the resources is not there and the biggest challenge now is non availability of cash so we all arrange to be pay in batches.”

“The entitlement is mandatory but the resources is not on ground.  We assure them of definite payment, Hon Yakubu Itse confirmed.

May Plateau Never Have A Government Like The Lalong Administration – Clinton Garuba

Sunday Adam Jos

OPINION:

MAY PLATEAU NEVER HAVE A GOVERNMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE LALONG- LED ADMINISTRATION, BY: CLINTON GARUBA

As the Lalong-led administration winds down after 8 years and seeing that it is one administration with a leadership style that no one will wish to see in a modern Plateau, one would have expected that it will sober enough to exit quietly without having to insult the sensibilities of the Plateau people.

Alas! Goof and gaffes are the hallmarks of the administration that spent 8 years supervising the undoing of previous administrations’ programmes, projects and policies which had set the state on the path to sustainable progress and development.

It would have been okay to watch how this current administration ingloriously exits Government House, Little Rayfield but for the recent distortion of facts and barefaced lies of the governor who tried to score cheap political points to salvage his already diminished political profile which has made him lost favour with the Plateau people.

Former Governor Jonah David Jang has repeatedly said he stands out in a class of his own when the current administration is placed side-by-side with his 8-year reign which left the landscape of Plateau dotted with projects across the state.

In addition to all that, Senator Jang remained vocal in defence of his people throughout his tenure, despite the now obvious, campaigns of calumny against his person and Government.
Plateau people will agree that, no matter what the shortcomings of the Jang administration were, it is by far a better deal to the State than the last 8 years which have not only derailed the development of the state but thrived on blaming the previous administration while doing nothing to match up to what it had done.

In any case, the 2023 general elections were a referendum on the Lalong administration and by extension on the APC in Plateau State which did nothing other than dismantle structures put in place for a prosperous Plateau. The state of governance has nosedived that one would not envy the incoming administration for the enormity of work that it has to do in rebuilding the people’s trust in Government, its programmes and policies.

At a time when sections of the state have come under attacks from people hell-bent on waging genocide on the people, the Government is rather hurriedly commissioning projects, some of which it even inherited as ongoing projects of the Jang administration to cover for 8 years of nothingness. Perhaps the government realised too late in the day that it had pursued personal political gains to the detriment of the general well-being of the State and is in a hurry to claim that it at least did something when in fact did almost nothing .

Speaking blatant lies about the state of roads in the city centre at the beginning of the Lalong administration is the icing on the cake of the falsehood peddled by the government since the assumption of office.

Every Plateau citizen knows that since the return of democracy in 1999, no government has paid attention to roads and infrastructure like the Jang administration. If Lalong and those who have failed to advise him on the need to be truthful as a leader think that they built Jos, the Plateau State capital from its foundation, let them continue to live in delusion.

The outcome of the elections is a testimony to their performance in the last 8 years. Had they done better, Plateau people would have said so through the ballot box. Having failed, the best thing would be to quietly leave and continue with the lobby for appointment at the federal level where he had spent years of servitude abandoning the state to suffer a lack of leadership and governance.

For now, the Lalong administration should concentrate on clearing their tables as it is only a few days to the handover and the prayer on the lips of many a plateau person is, “May Lalong and this type of administration never happen to us again.”

Senator Jang commiserates with all the grieving communities and joins in wishing that the swearing-in of the coming administration will bring succour to the people and return the state to the path to progress and development.

Church Denominational Leaders And Spiritual Fathers Condemns Killings In Plateau State.

Sunday Adam Jos

Church leaders under the auspacies of Plateau State Church Denominational Leaders and Spiritual Fathers, has Condemned in strong term the resurgence of killings in  Riyom and Mangu local government of the state.

The Church Leaders and Spiritual Fathers Condemnation is contained in a press release dated 21st May 2023 signed by (Dr.) Stephen Baba Panya, ECWA President,Head of  and For and on Behalf of Plateau State Church Denominational Leaders and Spiritual Fathers, and made available to this medium in Jos.

The Press statement which reads in part said we are very deeply saddened by the resurgence of mindless killings of innocent citizens, mainly Christians, in Mangu and Riyom Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

The killings which started in Mangu villages, Plateau state, Nigeria on Monday, 15th May 2023 by so-called unknown gunmen has claimed many lives and properties with many persons still missing. The villages affected include Fungzai, Hale, Kubwat, Bwoi and many other communities of Kombun District of Mangu Local Government Area and some communities in Riyom Local Government Area.

According to reports, about 130 people were killed, about 1000 houses and about 22 churches burnt, and about 22 villages affected.   We the Church Denominational Leaders and Spiritual fathers on the Plateau, view this round of killings and destruction as devilish, barbaric and an act of genocide against innocent and armless villagers.

This again is another sad commentary on the unabated bloodletting that has engulfed Plateau State over the years without any meaningful attempt by Government at federal and state levels to decisively address the unfortunate situation.

The body used the statement to ask vital questions ranging from  how long will this bloodletting continue? The persistent attacks and killings in Plateau state continue to raise a number of questions.

Who really wants to destroy Plateau State and why? Are the killers really ‘unknown’ gunmen and why do they always have sophisticated weapons and enough time to wreak havoc on innocent citizens? What has happened to those arrested in previous attacks?

Are the security agencies in Plateau really handicapped? If we must move forward as a peaceful, united and democratic nation, then these and many other questions must be answered through deliberate action by government to bring these killings to the end and restore peace and tranquility in Plateau State and other troubled parts of the country.

The Church  Leaders and Spiritual Fathers however called

on the government and all security agencies to immediately stop this ongoing massacre and its spread to more communities.

” We also urge relevant emergency management agencies to urgently provide shelter and relief materials to the affected communities and bring them the much-needed succor. We implore spirited individuals, groups, and organizations to also come to the aid of these devastated communities.”

Further used the release to call on citizens to remain calm and peaceful in the face of this unwarranted persecution, and trust that government and its relevant agencies will immediately restore normalcy and build confidence of the people.

“We commiserate with families that have lost their loved ones and pray for God’s comfort, and healing and restoration to all those injured. “

Urged the church  not to relent in praying to God for his divine intervention, inner strength and perseverance for the people of Plateau State. Let us hold on to God’s promises and fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:1-3). maintained.

Senator-Elect condemns latest attack in Plateau communities, calls for arrest of perpetrators

Sunday Adam Jos

The Senator-elect representing Plateau Central, Hon. Diket Plang, has condemned in strong terms the latest attack at Kubwat and Fungzai communities in Mangu local government area of Plateau State, which claimed lives and property.

Hon. Plang, in a statement, said the constant onslaught against the peace-loving people of the senatorial district, precisely in Mangu and Bokoss local government areas, has reached such a crescendo that the people no longer sleep with their two eyes closed.

According to him, as a result of the attacks, the people who were predominantly farmers can no longer access their farms for fear of being attacked by gunmen, adding to the air of apprehension that presently pervades most communities in the affected local government area.

Hon. Plang, who lamented that the attack came at a time of the year when farming activities were going on across the communities, said if not tamed by
the relevant authorities, the incessant attacks could lead to hunger apart from the present loss of lives.

Hon. Plang called on the security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of the heinous crime are brought to book while describing the ugly development as unfortunate even as the government has been doing all it could to maintain peace in the state.

“To say I am shocked beyond words over the fresh attack on my people is an understatement. This is unbelievable, devastating, unjustifiable, and unimaginable. It bleeds my heart because nothing whatsoever justifies this unabashed act of killing. More so, it came at a time of year when farming activities are ongoing.

“I call on security operatives to go after those attacking innocent villagers, and they should be made to pay for their heinous actions. I also call on the people, especially community leaders, to check the influx of people into their respective communities,” he said.

While commiserating with the families of the victims, Plang however, told the survivors of the attacks to remain calm and law-abiding no matter the level of provocation.

Plang commended Governor Simon Lalong, the Executive Chairman and the Traditional Council of Mangu LGC for their peace-building efforts and called on the citizens of Plateau Central to stay peaceful with one another.

We’ll make animal husbandry key driver of our economy – Barr. Mutfwang, Plateau Governor-Elect

Sunday Adam Jos

Following the quest to make animal husbandry one of the key drivers of the Plateau economy, the Governor Elect, Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, has pledged to take deliberate action towards revamping Veterinary Medicine in the state.

Barr. Mutfwang stated this while receiving the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association, Plateau State, during a courtesy visit at the Jonah David Jang Lodge, Old Government House, Rayfield, Jos.

He noted that his administration would be deliberate on developing human capacity in veterinary medicine to explore economic opportunities that abound in the sector.

Mutfwang noted with dismay that Plateau has no physiotherapist and dental surgeon which he considers not a good situation, saying energy would be channelled towards that direction to bridge the gaps.

“It is not appropriate to say that there is no single Plateau person that is a physiotherapist. There is no single Plateau person that is a dental surgeon and that is why we must be deliberate and intentional as to capacity building and I am glad that the University of Jos has started a Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.”

He explained that the suggestion made by the Association about splitting the Ministry of Agriculture into two to have Ministry of Animal Husbandry was heartwarming and that when people hear of Ministry of Agriculture, their attention is quickly drawn to crops.

“We must be able to look at how we can make animal husbandry one of the economic drivers of our economic revolution which includes fisheries. We are looking at how we can turn around certain assets that are being wasted in Plateau into profit-making assets for the greater good of the people.

“We will engage in critical thinking to ensure that we reposition veterinary medicine in the state because the aspect of animal husbandry needs to be looked into very critically”, he stated.

Chairman of the Association, Dr. Pam Luka, who led the delegation, congratulated Barr. Caleb Mutfwang on his well deserved victory during the March 18 Governorship election in the state.

He said, “the Nigeria Veterinary Medical Association, Plateau State, received with delight your new status as the Governor-Elect of the state. Your success at the poll was proof that Plateau people desire your leadership.

“The Association wishes to bring to the attention of the Governor-elect that the state has the least workforce in the North with 5 people in its service which makes it impossible to man and control the elaborate animal and livestock resources the state is blessed with, not to talk of harnessing or exploring the economic resources therein.

“The state, in collaboration with the University of Jos, is unable to give its promised funding to the hospital which would have gone a long way in creating the desired impact. Besides, last year, the hospital was gutted by fire because of a tanker accident, and, therefore, looks to the state for support.

“With the handing over of the Polo Hospital to the University of Jos, the state does not have a veterinary hospital again. We appeal to the Governor-Elect to see to the creation of a zonal veterinary hospital as obtained in most states of the federation.”

Former Executive Director, National Veterinary and Research Institute, Vom, and Professor of Veterinary Public Health and Pioneer Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Jos, Prof. Lami Lombin, congratulated the Governor-elect and assured him of the support of the Association to boost animal husbandry in the state.

She noted that Plateau has not taken advantage of Veterinary Medicine over the years to boost its economy as the state lacks human resources in veterinary medicine.

“I am happy that President Goodluck Jonathan encouraged the University of Jos to commence the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and the Institution now has the faculty which has helped us to begin to have Plateau indigenes in Veterinary Medicine. Because only few people have been there, we had to run to other states to get manpower.”

She expressed confidence in the leadership capability of Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, whom she said will turn around the Plateau economy in the greater interest of the people and to boost human capacity in Veterinary Medicine in the State.

This follows the outcome of the meeting between President-elect, Bola Tinubu and some party leaders at Tinubu’s residence in Abuja where former Akwa Ibom Governor Godswill Akpabio from the South-south geopolitical zone was endorsed for Senate President.

It was gathered  that the Northwest geopolitical zone was rewarded with the position of the Deputy President of the Senate with Sen Barau Jubrin from Kano North Senatorial District endorsed as Akpabio’s deputy.

The Northwest was also given the position of Speaker of the House of Representatives, with Rep Tajudeen Abbass (Zaria Federal Constituency) selected as Speaker, while the Deputy Speaker position went to the Southeast with Rep Benjamin Kalu (Bende Federal Constituency) endorsed to clinch it.

It was learnt that the exclusion of the North-central zone from the power-sharing generated serious ripples at the meeting but everyone had to bow to the superior position of the president-elect who stood firm in his endorsement of the arrangement.

Two Rep members from the zone, current Deputy Speaker, Ahmed Wase and Yusuf Gagdi, both from Plateau State, had indicated interest in getting the speakership position zoned to the North-central to enable them contest for it.

A source at the meeting however explained that the North-central, Northeast and Southwest were excluded from the NASS positions because they currently already hold the positions of APC National Chairman, Vice President-elect and President-elect, respectively.

He disclosed that those who opposed the zoning of Speaker of the House and deputy president of the Senate to the Northwest were also shut down, culminating in an inexplicable situation where the two positions were zoned to one geopolitical zone.

Actual news learned that the meeting which was presided over by Tinubu had the national chairman of APC, Sen Abdullahi Adamu; APC’s national secretary, Sen Iyiola Omisore; APC’s deputy national chairman, (North), Sen Abubakar kyari and deputy national chairman (South), Chief Emma Eneukwu, in attendance.

Other APC chieftains who attended the meeting were Senate President, Ahmad Lawan; Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila.

“The zoning of the various leadership

positions in the National Assembly by APC was made public today after a meeting presided over by the Presidents-elect in Abuja.

“The positions of Senate president; deputy Senate president; Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House were given to Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Barau Jubrin, Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu, in that order.

“The outgoing Senate President, Sen Ahmad Lawan, who renewed his opposition to Akpabio as his successor, could not have his way as his position was turned down by the president-elect. Lawan was overwhelmed and had no option than to succumb,” the source said.

However this development has not gone down well with stakeholders in the north central zone who believes that the action of the president elect is capable of throwing the party into crisis as the epistle of 2915 might rear it’s urgly head as members jettison the party’s arrangements by electing Bokola senate President while Yakubu Dogara as speaker might take centre stage ahead of the inauguration of the 10th assembly as members continue to groan over the actions of the party

Sources says members elected under the party have started secret meetings with  members elected under other opposition parties on  possible ways of electing thier choice as speaker of the 10th assembly following the actions of the president elect and party

It is believed thier actions might cause the party the Speakership position as the opposition might carry the day following their  large number as events unfold this medium will keep its readers posted on the development

WE SUPPORTED POWER SHIFT FOR UNITY AND FAIRNESS IN NIGERIA GOV LALONG

Sunday Adam Jos

Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum and Governor of Plateau State Simon Bako Lalong has disclosed that Northern Governors of the APC supported power shift to the Southern part of Nigeria in order to promote the unity, peace and stability of Nigeria within the spirit of fairness, equity and justice which the late Premier of the Northern Region Sir Ahmadu Bello stood for.

Lalong was speaking at the 9th Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture on Leadership and Good Governance held in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
He said because the late Sardauna lived a life of accommodation, tolerance, justice and fairness, his legacies have endured long after his demise and continue to inspire leadership in the region and country at large.

“When I led my colleagues the Northern Governors to push for power shift to the south, it was not because we wanted Asiwaju to be President. Rather, we wanted to ensure that justice and fairness prevails in our nation for the unity, peace and harmony. That is what we believe our revered father of blessed memory Sir Ahmadu Bello would do in such circumstances. Fortunately, the party delegates chose Asiwaju who was eventually accepted by Nigerians as he was unanimously elected”.

Lalong urged all Nigerians, both in the North and across the country, to support President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as he takes on the mantle of leadership. He said the North is an important stakeholder in the Nigerian project and its contributions towards his election cannot be over emphasized.

The Northern region needs serious attention in various sectors ranging from security, education, infrastructure, agriculture, economic revival and restoration of law and order in various areas that have been ravaged by insecurity.

“It is heartening to note that the Northern Governors Forum, under my leadership, has done a great deal of work on bringing our people together as one people with one a common destiny” he said.

Nasarawa State Governor Engr. Abdullahi Sule said it was a privilege for his state to host the very important event which reminds the region and the nation about the values that Sardauna lived and died for.

He said although there have been challenges in the country after the demise of Sir Ahmadu Bello, some progress has been made which can be built upon to make the Northern Region and Nigeria a better place.

Speaking on the topic “2023 Elections as Panacea for Search for Quality Leadership in Nigeria,” Kenyan Law Professor and pan Africanist Patrick Lumumba said the late Sardauna left behind several lessons for politicians which include his selflessness and sacrifice for the general good.

He said the question of unity and cohesion in Nigeria particularly after the 2023 general elections cannot be over emphasized because Nigeria plays a very key role in the stability of Africa being a giant in all ramifications.

Lumumba stressed that the sacrifices of founding fathers like Sardauna who paid the supreme price should not be left to go in vain but built upon for a greater Nigeria and Africa.

President Muhammadu Buhari in a message delivered by Chief of Staff Prof. Ibrahim Gambari said it is important that Nigerians devote more attention to recruiting quality leaders who are capable of steering the nation in the right direction.

He also said the process of elections should also be looked at and continously improved upon to ensure that those who serve the people have their mandate and also enjoy their support.

Emir of Lafia HRH Sidi Bage said the lecture series is an opportunity opportunity to reflect on the dreams of Sardauna but also a way of putting critical national and regional issues on the front burner.

He thanked Governor Lalong who as Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum worked hard to ensure that the Traditional Institution is given a place in the governance of Nigeria much as it was during the time of the Sardauna.

The next Sardauna Lecture is scheduled to take place in Maiduguri.

RE: LALONG SAs ON ICT REPLIES HON GOLU, SAYS HE SHOULD NURSE THE WOUNDS OF HIS INCALCULABLE FAILURE AND ALLOW THE WORKAHOLIC GOVERNOR BOW OUT IN HIGH SPIRIT AND RESPECT.

Sunday Adam Jos

After going through the rejoinder to Hon Timothy Golu’s column in Leadership paper of 29th April,2023, by one rotduna ibn sekat claiming to be SA to Lalong, I wasn’t surprise by the barren, empty and shallow piece. It is a desperate and vain effort towards covering the shameful, disgraceful and irredeemable so-called rescue administration of Lalong and a true reflection of the incompetent SA’s led by sekat that surrounded Lalong. They misguided the government to crass failure thereby setting Plateau State many years backward.

For the purpose of clarity and information, rotduna ibn sekat even as SA to Lalong is a renowned sychophant moving around from pillar to post searching for the next meal and crumbs and will do anything no matter how bad as long as it will give him the next meal and token to move to the next post for scavenging. Thats the reason why he offered himself as a tool for the shameful and disgraceful write up to get the last crumbs and stipend from the faded and outgoing Lalong administration.

For the fact that top officials of the Lalong administration that are saddle with the responsibility of responding to Hon Golu’s write up which is hinged on the process and procedure for proper transition of power from Lalong to the incoming administration of HE Hon Barr Caleb Mutfwang were all found not worthy for the self destructive job, but rotduna tells you the kind of person he is without shame and conscience.

It is absolutely ridiculous and contradictory that Stephenkat will attempt at describing Hon Golu as a failure because he did not win reelection and at the same time praising Lalong who suffered a crushing defeat in his attempt to escape from Plateau State to the red chambers of the National Assembly (Senate).
Golu has never lost his unit, ward or LGA in his election, but Lalong lost all.

If rotduna was anything near objectivity to alleged that Hon Golu didn’t get back to the green chambers because of poor performance, then what was responsible for the crushing defeat suffered by Lalong in the hands of the PDP senatorial candidate AVM Napoleon Bali? It’s because of the monumental failure of his government and hence the rejection by his own Goemai and people of Plateau South Senatorial ZONE.

If rotduna was anything near conscience and responsible, he would have been ashamed that Lalong even as Chairman Northern Governors Forum have woefully failed to attract any investment to the State, within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
What could be more shameful and disgraceful than Lalong’s inability to complete and commission his own so called legacy projects inspite of the tens of billions he got? What of the compromised State House of Assembly he got to approve reckless loans thereby, indebting the state to a collapsed state of economy?
What is Lalong going to hand over in the next 28 days from now?

I can understand the pains and frustration of rotduna seeing the reality starring on his face that he and Lalong will be handing over to Mutfwang the keys of the Government House the PDP administration under the great Dara Jang build that they failed to maintain and almost taken over by dangerous reptiles and insects. Thank God that Mutfwang has come to redeem it.

Every reasonable person conversant with politics of the PKK and Plateau State knows that Hon Timothy Golu did not lose election but was denied victory by Lalong in connivance with some individuals holding critical positions in the electoral umpire INEC.
Hon Golu has since moved on with his private business and professional life sustaining many people and he is today very relevant in national politics. Its part of his wealth of experience and knowledge brought to bear that stopped Lalong from going to the Senate and his crony to succeed him as the next governor of Plateau State.

It is simply because rotduna does not have wisdom and iota of shame. He would have been quite and not come out to the public to attempt to launder Lalong. That even as Tinubu’s DG he failed to deliver himself, Plateau State to Tinubu and Dr Nentawe to succeed him is enough for him to permanently shut his mouth from the public spaces.

Lalong must be made to properly hand over and the transition committee must leave up to expectations and not to leave any stone unturned as Mutfwang is fully prepared for genuine and people oriented government and sychophants like rotduna will not distract us.
God bless Plateau State.

AS PLATEAU GOV-ELECT PLANS TO LEVERAGE ON SOLID MINERALS SECTOR

Sunday Adam Jos

In continuation of his engagement with key stakeholders, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, Plateau State Governor-Elect, undertook another visit on April 6, 2023. These are aimed at laying the foundation for the smooth take-off of his administration and providing a realistic template for the seamless conduct of government business towards the realisation of his manifesto without delay.

He was at the Federal Ministry of Mines and Steel headquarters in Abuja where he had a very fruitful interface with the Minister, Olamilekan Adegbite. Certainly, he has shown that he is not an armchair governor-in-waiting. He has portrayed himself as a highly motivated leader who has already began pursuing the agenda on which strength the masses unanimously gave him that remarkable endorsement of March 18, 2023.

But first, let us look at the past to properly situate and contextualise the present gains of that engagement with the minister and the potentials it holds for the future of the state and her people. In the process, we may catch a glimpse of, and appreciate, Barrister Mutfwang’s capacity for both hindsight and foresight – outstanding qualities in a worthy leader.

In an article published in The Economic Geography Journal (Vol. 35, No.2, April 1959), B.W. Hodder stated that in the latter part of the nineteenth century, European travellers noticed what was known as ‘straw tin’ being used by the Hausa for tinning their brass and assumed that it was brought from up north, from across the Sahara Desert.

But in 1884, according to the researcher, it was discovered that the tin had in fact come from the Jos Plateau, known at the time as Bauchi Plateau.

Much later, in March 1990, The Geographical Journal, Vol. 156, No.1, carried a paper written by Michael J. Alexander who traced the discovery of tin on the Jos Plateau to 1700-1750 when it was found near river channels. He explained: “The farmers saw tin minerals and crystals near the river. They realized by mixing tin and iron, they could have stronger agricultural instruments.”

He noted that, by 1760-1770, there were 13 indigenous blacksmith smelters in Naraguta, north of Jos, and that tin had become very popular during the industrial revolution in Europe. Merchants travelled from Tripoli to the Jos Plateau to buy tin, which explains Hodder’s earlier suggestion that this same tin had been found in Tripoli. But it was thought to have originated from what later came to be known as Northern Nigeria.

Alexander sheds more light on this: “The Berom ethnic group were finding and producing tin along the Dilimi River for the ethnic Hausa traders…. The Hausa traders did not want people to know the original source of tin so that is why they put the buying centre in Bauchi.” In 1808, a Briton named Clapperton travelled for three months across the Sahara to find the Naraguta smelters.

By the year 1913, 108 mining companies had to go through the Royal Niger Company to gain access to the mine fields. “A railway was discovered from Zaria to Lagos for the export of tin. By 1943, tin mining on the Jos Plateau was at its peak…. Up to 1960, Jos was the sixth largest producer of tin in the world. Two hundred twenty-five kilometres of land was taken out by tin mining,” Alexander stated.

We have taken this brief excursion down memory lane to, first, illustrate the incredibly rich pedigree of Jos, and indeed Plateau State as a whole, in tin and solid minerals mining generally.

Second, to showcase the fact that there was once a time in the history of this country, nay, even going back to the colonial era, when this tiny slice of the earth, which later came to be known as Plateau State, was one of the biggest geese laying the golden eggs of this nation. For which it was well-acclaimed and acknowledged worldwide.

And, most significantly, when you put the above historical facts side-by-side the governor-elect’s visit to the Minister of Mines and Steel, it shows him as a man who is in perfect cinque with the realities of that past epoch. A man very set to leverage on what is still left of that once huge enterprise and the other solid minerals that abound today in the other parts of the state to lift its economy out of the doldrums.

Of course, tin mining is no more as lucrative as it used to be. Alexander attributed this to the use of plastics and other non-corrosive materials in place of tin cans. Also, because informal artisanal mining has become the order of the day, what comes out of the Plateau is often smuggled out and used to strengthen tin in Brazil, Malaysia and Bolivia because Jos tin is reputed to be much stronger.

He added that because all exploitable minerals belong to government, companies must obtain tin mining leases to access them. But because ordinary miners cannot afford the huge costs, most of them resort to doing the business illegally. And the products end up in the hands of smugglers who make humongous profits at the expense of the desperate miners.

Unfortunately, this is what obtains across board – in all aspects of solid minerals extraction in Plateau State. Herein lies the challenge for the in-coming governor, the minister and key stakeholders. Illegal mining in Plateau State is a multi-million-dollar business. It is so pervasive and largely out of the control of any major state players that it is denying governments, the itinerant miners themselves and the environmentally devastated communities their own rightful share of the proceeds. This brings to the fore the necessity to strictly use ecological funds for which purposes they are statutorily meant.

Parts of Kanam and Wase local government areas are said to be heavily endowed with mineral resources that have for decades been strictly controlled by powerful individuals and cartels that have become laws unto themselves. These must be stopped if the state and its citizens must reap the benefits of their God-given resources.

When properly controlled and managed, the devastation of land caused by the open cast tin mining of the past will be avoided in any such future endeavours.

Also viewed from these perspectives, the imperative of the governor-elect’s visit to the minister becomes even clearer. Experts in the solid minerals sector say that, in tandem with Mr. Mutfwang’s manifesto in this area, there remains a lot to be done. But they agree that these first steps are in the right direction and a positive sign that a great deal will be achieved in this department immediately he takes over.

They suggest a robust utilization of the abundant expertise in some of the parastatals of the Ministry such as the Council of Nigerian Engineers and Geoscientists (COMEG), Mining Cadastre Office (MCO) and the National Metallurgical Development Centre (NMDC), among others, to push through the agenda.

All over the state, solid minerals abound – some of which have not yet been discovered. In fact, there has been talk about the presence of crude oil in those parts of southern Plateau which lie in the Benue trough.

Doubtless, the governor-elect has started oiling the wheels of critical machinery towards the smooth implementation of government policies.

And if the minister’s assurances are anything to go by and Mutfwang’s determination is as solid as it appears, the state is on the cusps of a new dispensation, reminiscent of the golden days of tin mining, in the solid minerals department.

Suspended Adamawa REC ignored summons, location unknown – INEC22nd April 2023

Sunday Adam Jos

The Independent National Electoral Commission has disclosed that it has no information of the whereabouts of the suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner of Adamawa State, Hudu Ari.

The commission disclosed this after his action during the supplementary governorship election in Adamawa.

INEC National Commissioner, Festus Okoye disclosed this on Friday while speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily.

Actual news reports that the announcement of the Adamawa supplementary election generated controversy after Ari announced Binani as winner of the poll, while collation had not yet to be concluded.

The Actual news further reports that the electoral umpire summoned Ari to its headquarters in Abuja.

The commission reported Ari’s action to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Thursday and his suspension was approved by the President, until the completion of an investigation by the Inspector General of Police on the matter.

We don’t know where he is because, after this particular incident, the commission wrote to him and also called him on the phone. He never returned any of the calls; he never answered any of the calls.

We asked him to report to the commission on Sunday, but we didn’t see him. We asked him to report on Monday, but we didn’t see him. So, up till this moment, he has not reported and we don’t know his whereabouts,” Okoye said.

Okoye added that it was the responsibility of the police to declare Ari wanted for failing to report to the commission or answer its calls.

Well, that is the responsibility of the Nigeria Police. If they feel that his presence is absolutely needed during the investigation and he is nowhere to be found, it is their prerogative and discretion to declare him wanted.”

“We wrote to the Inspector General of Police and Secretary to the Government of the Federation. We have received a response from the Inspector General of Police and they have already commenced an investigation.

My understanding is that the moment the Inspector General of Police concludes the investigation regarding the REC and every other individual involved and a prima facie case is established against the REC, the file will be made available to the commission and the commission will begin prosecution of the REC,” he said.

The Hope That Keeps Us Awake At Night – Kefas Lamak

Sunday Adam Jos

From its creation, the historical journey of Plateau State has been that of hope and resilience. Since its founding, our forefathers had hoped that Plateau would be a leading state in Nigeria since it has a good climate and the desired cultures and religious diversity to be an excellent example to many, especially in the Middle Belt and Northern Nigeria. Plateau State had met this goal for some time when it served as the hub of many activities around the country until the early 2000s when an ethnoreligious crisis engulfed the state.
Plateau State, the home of “Peace and Tourism” before the 2000s, was the center for religious and business activities. Since the 1900s, it has been the headquarters for COCIN Church, ECWA Church, and now TEKAN. Roman Catholics have a huge presence with a Major Seminary in the city of Jos and the headquarters of Jama’ Atul Izala, EYN, and ECCN Conferences.

As for business, from the colonial period to Gowon’s military regime, the Plateau served as a mining center whose resources, in addition to the south-south’s oil, were used to build the country into what it is today. For music and sports, Plateau State has served as home to both secular, moral, cultural, and gospel legends like Adu Deme, Christabel Bentu, Panam Percy Paul, Dan Tala, and Dan Maraya Jos.
Politics to militarization, although Yakubu Gowon was the only military Head of State the Middle Belt has produced, every military regime has had Plateau citizens in strategic positions, namely Domkat Bali, Joshua Dogonyaro, Jeremiah Useni, Col. Dungs, and Jonah Jang, as well as many others.

From education to socialization, Plateau has many educational and professional institutions like NIPSS, Kuru; Police Staff College, TCNN, JETS, Islamic University, and the National College of Accountancy. Tourists from the 1970s to 2000s have always chosen Plateau State because of its conducive weather, beautiful landscape, vegetation, and demographics (urban plan); Jos, the capital of Plateau State, is not as densely populated as other bigger cities in Nigeria.

This is not to say that Plateau State has not faced difficult times. From the ethnoreligious crisis that engulfed the state from the early 2000s to recent times, it has experienced dark moments in its history. During this period, the blood of innocent men, women, and children littered the streets of Jos and villages; a period where dead bodies lay on the streets for hours, and some went missing altogether. A period where children and older people cried together day and night. A period where for the first time in the history of this country, citizens experienced bomb blasts in the marketplace, religious gatherings, social gatherings, and schools.
One of the historical bomb blasts that will linger in the memory of the Plateau people forever occurred on Christmas Eve, 2016. This was the period of ethnic cleansing from Dogon Na Hawa to Riyom, Angwan Rogo to Terminus, Bokkos to Mangu, and Miango to Magimgi. These are a few events that make the Plateau people think and wonder if there will ever be a change in the socio-political atmosphere of the state and whether or not, one day, we will have leaders who will stand up and fight for the ordinary person to stop the ethnic cleansing, bomb blasts, and religious crises.
Added to these listed problematic events is the falling standard of education on the Plateau. Although we have the foundations of many schools, many are low in standard and record no modern advanced education growth. Besides private and faith-based schools, Plateau State cannot brag about its public schools. The last time I checked, the Government College, Jos building had fallen apart, and every traveler who passes by sees the dilapidated building as a representation of the collapse of secondary education on the Plateau. There are many dilapidated buildings in the College of Education, Gindiri, and an acute shortage of facilities the government has not supplied to upgrade the school. How about Plateau State University, Bokkos, Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos and Barkin Ladi campuses, School of Nursing, Vom, School of Forestry, Kurgi, and Veterinary School, Vom? When was the last time the Plateau State government recruited new lecturers and professors for efficient teaching and learning in different areas of specialization? How about primary schools? The state government has neglected our primary schools, which are supposed to be foundational schools for children. We see video clips of village pupils sitting in flooded classes during the rainy season to learn. We can go on and on with

these laments.

As for unemployment, too many Plateau youth lack jobs or the capital to start a business. Everything is stagnant on the Plateau. All of these result from bad leadership and governance. We hear politicians stealing and stashing our resources abroad or in other states. We also see governors traveling abroad regularly for no reason, accompanied by a considerable entourage. This must stop.

Despite all the cries, the fear, the anxiety, and the uncertainty we are experiencing, Plateau people still demonstrate hope. Plateau people remain hopeful people in every aspect of life. Considering all they go through, it takes only optimistic people to go and vote in 2023. This hope keeps us awake at night, and this hope causes people to continue to go to their farms, students and pupils to continue to go to the same public schools, and for women to continue to carry their yams and potatoes on their heads for sale. It takes hope for pastors, priests, and Imams to preach to their congregations, “let us pray for Plateau State.” I imagine many clergymen tell their congregation, “Let us pray for Plateau State,” and their response would be, “for how long?” Despite the suffering, poverty, and struggles, you hardly hear anyone committing suicide. In my lifetime, I do not know of any who has committed suicide on the Plateau.

Mr. Governor-elect, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang I am sure you are aware of all the things I mentioned in this reflection. If you are unawareof all the things I mentioned in this reflection. If you are unaware of any, please tour the seventeen LGAs of Plateau State. I hope you have a plan that addresses the needs of the Plateau people. I hope your four-year tenure will not be business as usual. I hope you will provide security to our people. I hope you will not be an “Abuja Governor.” I hope your appointments will not be based on ethnicity and denominational biases instead of competence. I hope you will not pretend to see the state of Government College Jos, Government College, Gingiri, and Government College, Kabir. I hope you will not avert your eyes when traveling by road to Abuja when you see the condition of Government Science School, Kuru.

I hope your administration will not be celebrated only by paying civil servants their entitlement. I hope you will be the “People’s Governor,” not the president’s “House Boy.” I hope you will be a governor who cares for the people, youth, women, and children. I hope you will empower as many youths as possible to be financially and academically independent. I hope you will build a strong business network. I hope farmers would smile on the Plateau.
Mr. Governor elect, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang, we have come a long way and cannot return. We have hope that our dark days will be turned into brighter nights, “for sorrows last for the night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Mr. Governor, you can take Plateau people to their promised land or have them stagnate in one place for the next four years, but we will never go back to the yesteryears between 2000 to early 2023.

God bless Plateau State, and God bless Nigeria.

REFLECT ON SACRIFICIAL LOVE – PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR-ELECT BARR CALEB MUTFWANG APPEALS TO CHRISTIANS AS THEY CELEBRATE EASTER.

Sunday Adam Jos

The plateau state governor elect Caleb Mutfwang has called on all Christian faithful in the state to live to the fullfilment of our saviour Jesus Christ

According to him l bring you warm greetings in this historic season as we remember the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ and His glorious resurrection!

This period affords us the opportunity to meditate on God’s ultimate plan for the salvation of mankind which has been brought to full manifestation upon His resurrection.

The Deputy Governor-elect and I congratulate Christian faithful in this Easter season.

I also congratulate those who observed the lent period leading to Good Friday. I trust that you learnt valuable lessons in drawing close to the Lord.

I admonish that we do not allow this Easter to pass on as a mere ritual. Instead, let it be a period of true reflection on the virtues of sacrificial love and the renewal of life and hope.

As we look forward to a New Plateau, may the God of Heaven saturate us with the burden of sacrifice and love, which is demonstrated by us striving to be our brother’s keeper. This would go a long way in helping us forget our differences and UNITE as a people for the great task ahead of rebuilding our dear and blessed State.

May Plateau indeed witness the glory of resurrection!

Plateau Assembly: Two Speakers Emerge Tension Spreads

 Sunday Adam Jos

Security Agencies seal Assembly complex

Tension, fear and anxiety has enveloped premises of the Plateau State House of Assembly, as the State Command of the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies took charge and sealed off the complex, following  renewed power tussle between two members of the Assembly, who are laying claims to the Speakership.

Yakubu Sanda the embattled speaker of the plateau state House of assembly was recognised as the Speaker until Monday 3rd April 2023 , when a high court in the state, declared that the hitherto impeached Speaker, Abok Ayuba, is the authentic Speaker of the House,  being illegally removed from office.

On Tuesday, Nuhu Abok presided over sitting were it passed bills with some of the members of the state assembly 6 from the people’s democratic party PDP, 7  from the Rulling All Progressive Congress APC while labour party has 2 totaling 15 members as the Sanda faction obtained a stay of execution order and also appealed against the Monday reinstatement of Nuhu Abok

Early Wednesday morning, as Nuhu Abok attempted to resume sitting the other faction also attempted same as the two speakers were billed to hold plenary, thereby, raising tension.

But the security agents intervened, with about 15 security vehicles deployed and stationed at strategic locations around te vicinity of the Assembly, while security personnel in uniform and mufti patrolled the area restricting the public from having access to the road linking the state assembly

Vehicles were diverted from the entire area to other routes, as supporters of the two camps, who were preparing to occupy the House, could not do so.

The state Commissioner of Police, Bartholomew Onyeka, held a meeting with Nuhu Abok group of 11 members  of the House Wednesday morning.

Nuhu Abok shortly after the meeting with the police commissioner along side his counsel Barrister Ishaka Chuwong Paul said the meeting was fruitful as the police commissioner pleaded with him not to resume sitting pending when tension calms down

Abok further says the police commissioner assured him of adequate security as his continuous his legislative duties as the lawful speaker

Efforts to reach the embattled speaker Yakubu sanda proved abortive as several calls to his phone is ignored

This political wrong place among these letters will no doubt, further polarize the political atmosphere in the state, coupled with the uncertainties created by the last gubernatorial election.

Breaking News: Police Seal Plateau state House of assembly

Sunday Adam Jos

Plateau Police Command Spokesperson, DSP Alfred Alabo said that the move was to forestall breakdown of law of order around the assembly.

Alabo said that they learnt that supporters of politicians were coming around the assembly to protest and that the police move was to ensure that peace is maintained.

“If the politicians’ supporters come around, it is going to affect traffic, and it may lead to breakdown of law and order.

“In order to save lives and property, we took that action so that we can control security arrangements within the Plateau State House of Assembly area.

“If nothing happens, the security move will be relaxed and everything will return to normal,” he explained

PLATEAU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY LAWMAKERS APPEALS COURT JUDGEMENT

Some members of the Plateau State House of Assembly have appealed the Judgement reinstating Abok Ayuba as Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

Chairman House Commitee on Information Daniel Na’anlong, who stated this while addressing Newsmen in Jos, said they are approaching the appreal Court to seek for stay of execution.

Describing the event as beauty of Democracy, Na’anlong noted that they have confidence in the Country’s Judiciary, stressing that if the Judgement of the Appeal Court is in favour of Abok, the House has the liberty of going to the Supreme Court.

He argued that the impeachment took place when Abok was Speaker of the House under the APC and has now defected to the PDP, which said makes the seat vacant according to the Constitution.

He emphasized that the House only allowed Abok to enter the premises of the Assembly due to the respect they have for the rule of law and the Judiciary.

Na’anlong said the APC in Plateau State is not divided but is focused on giving the people the best legislation as well as ensure a smooth transition from one Democratically elected Government to another.

SENATOR GYANG WELCOMES COURT VERDICT ON RT. HON. ABOK AS TRIUMP OVER EXECUTIVE TYRANNY.

Sunday Adam Jos

Senator I. D. Gyang has welcome the verdict of Court that reinstated Rt Hon Abok as Speaker PLHA and holds that it is a triumph for the rule of law and common sense.

The Senator says the verdict has vindicated Rt Hon Abok and restored the dignity of the state Assembly from Executive tyranny and reckless legislative partisanship.

It would be recalled that at the onset of the illegal and unconstitutional impeachment of Speaker Abok, Senator Gyang brought the matter before the Nigerian Senate in Plenary pointing to Executive interference and manipulation for orchestrating the unfortunate illegality.

Plateau Assembly Saga: Clerk, Commissioner Of Police Served With Orders Of Court

Sunday Adam Jos

The Clerk of the Plateau state house of Assembly and the Commissioner of Police, Plateau state have been served with the orders of court reinstating Abok Ayuba as Speaker of the Plateau state house of Assembly.

Chuwang Paul, Counsel to the Gwottson Fom, Member representing Jos South State constituency and Tyem Pirfa Jinfa, Member representing Langtang North North Constituency who were claimant in the matter confirmed that the Clerk and the CP were served with the order of court on Monday.

Justice Nafisat Lawal Musa of the State High Court Sitting in Jos, on Monday reinstated Abok Ayuba as Speaker, Plateau House of Assembly 18 months after he was impeached by some members of the House

Justice Musa Reinstated Abok Ayuba as the speaker of the Plateau state house of Assembly while granting an injunction restraining the current speaker, Yakubu Sanda from parading himself as the Speaker of the Plateau state house of Assembly

The court granted that, the sum of 20 million naira be paid as exemplary damages to the claimants and went further to make a consequential order to the effect that all the emoluments , salaries, bonuses and allowances of the re-instated Speaker be paid him from from 28 of October 2021 till the day of the expiration of his term as the speaker of the Plateau state house of Assembly.

Yakubu Sanda Remains Plateau Assembly Authentic Speaker

Sunday Adam Jos

The Plateau State House of Assembly has described as rumour the purported court order for the reinstatement of the former Speaker, Abok Ayuba.

Briefing the media at the Plateau State House of Assembly complex today, the House majority leader and Chairman House Committee on Information, Na’anlong Daniel, said the House is not aware of any court judgement as they have not been serve with any.

“First and famous I want you to understand that the House of Assembly is a respectable institution of law, is a law abiding institution, is a product of law just as all the members of the Plateau State House of Assembly. We are confident in the judiciary and we have confident in our democracy.

want to tell you categorically here that it is a rumour that is actually going round that the former speaker have obtained judgement from a court of law. While as a house, I’m speaking in my capacity as the chairman on information, I have called the speaker, I have called the Clark to get clarity on the issue and to the best of my knowledge, the House have not been serve with any court judgement.

“So we are not aware of any court judgement and until then, and I also want you to understand that even if there is a judgement to that effect, the House still have the right to appeal the judgement and also to ask for stay of execution. So but until then, we cannot work with rumour, that is the position of the House.”

“If there is any court judgement then the House need to be served, you cannot take any decision over what you don’t know, so what we are hearing since we were not in the court, the house cannot take rumour from outside and assumed to be the position of the court. Until otherwise the court serve the House of Assembly with the judgement, which of course even at that, the House still have the right to appeal the matter. So we cannot have two captains in a Sheep, it has to be one, but for now there is no vacuum and Yakubu Sanda is still the speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly.” He added

Na’anlong noted that as the defendant in the case and even the House of Assembly as an institution was not aware that there was going to be judgement on the case today. Saying as defendant, he should have been served but he was not served and he was not aware of the judgement, it took them as a surprise.

Meanwhile, earlier today Justice Nefisa L. Musa of the State High court in Jos delivered the judgement, ordering the reinstatement of the former Plateau State Assembly Speaker, Abok Ayuba who was impeached in October, 2021.

Barr Mutfwan made the appeal in a vote of thanks after receiving his certificate of return from INEC and afterward at a reception to mark the event.

He acknowledged Dr Patrick Dakum of the Labour Party for his maturity and brotherhood in putting a call through and congratulating him shortly after INEC declared him as winner of the governorship election.

“If anybody tells you this election was rigged, he is living in the sky. There’s no way we would have rigged the election. This is a vote by the people, for the people and of the people.”

He thanked those who voted for and against his team.

“The election is over. It is time for governance. It is time to put hearts together and see what is in the best interest of Plateau. How can we move Plateau forward? This should be the concern for every genuine Plateau person.”

Peace Agency Charges citizens to shun Ethno-Religious hatred in Plateau State

Sunday Adam Jos

The Director General of the Plateau Peace Building Agency, Mr Joseph Lengmang has called on citizens to shun all forms of Ethno-Religious hatred in the electioneering process which may undermine the successes or modest achievements recorded over the years in restoring relative peace in Plateau State.

Lengmang said this while addressing selected media creative stakeholders at the premises of the Agency Today, Thursday 30th March as the Plateau State Peace Building Agency (PPBA) held its monthly coordinated media meeting.

He acknowledged the role of citizens and all stakeholders for their efforts in ensuring a peaceful 2023 electioneering process in Plateau state while calling on the good people of the state to desist from any form of ethno-religious hatred and post-electoral violence.

“In every election there will always be one form of violent or conflict contestation and dispute over electoral outcome but generally the election was peaceful here in plateau state and we would like to commend the media on the coverage of the just-concluded elections.”

“We call on those who won to be Magnanimous and those who lost to show Grace in defeat. We need to collectively work together as it is no longer politicking but about governance. Discontented individuals and bodies should adapt institutional mechanisms to address violations and seek redress rather than inciting dispute and using ethnoreligious hatred, as it undermines the successes of the electoral process and creates unnecessary wages among citizens due to political differences.” He Said

The Director General also disclosed that the meeting is aimed at strategizing and highlighting measures to manage the outcome of the just concluded election and measures to Mitigate conflict between herders and farmers as the wet season sets in Plateau State.

RE: GOVERNOR LALONG AND JUSTICE MONICA MENSEM – A DISCLAIMER

Sunday Adam Jos

We have read with utter consternation an article attempting to denigrate the revered person and hallowed office of the President of the Court of Appeal, Honourable Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem.

The writers, under the assumed name “@HillSpring-PatrioticPlateauVoice” are alleging that this eminent daughter of Plateau and esteemed jurist of no mean repute is “already working tirelessly to forcefully and illegally retrieve from Hon. Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, Plateau State Governor Elect, the mandate entrusted him by the majority of Plateau People.”

We hereby place it on record that this is not, and can never be the position or even shared sentiment of the Governor-elect of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang.

His call to the Nigerian Bar as a Solicitor and Advocate of the Supreme Court in 1989 had set him on a distinguished career and budding legal practice that has spanned some 34 years.

So, Barr Mutfwang knows and appreciates the discipline and interconnectedness that are the hallmarks of the legal practice.

He can never speak or authorise any disparaging publication against anyone, let alone a very senior and brilliant legal luminary of the stature of the Honourable Justice Dongban-Mensem – no matter how alluring the perceived benefits may be.

To do so will not only be professionally unethical, but it will also breach his core values as a man of faith, a family man and his style of politics.

Barr Mutfwang has repeatedly conveyed to audiences within and outside Plateau by personal, physical speech and media engagements, that his emergence at the polls has entirely been due to two key factors: The finger of God and the will of the people of Plateau State.

He maintains that the Judiciary, security services and INEC have reservoirs of immensely capable and impeccably credible Nigerians who can be depended upon to defend and uphold the cause of justice, fair play, equity and the deepening of Nigeria’s democracy. He holds them, and many other Nigerian professionals in the highest regards.

Barr Mutfwang will never resort to or agree with name calling, character assassination and libellous publications as ways of enhancing his political career or retaining the mandate he currently holds which is both divine and a product of the trust of the people of Plateau State.

We suspect that this may be a deliberate attempt by those who lost out at the polls to paint Barr. Mutfwang in bad light before the judiciary in the hope of gaining favour for the needless petition they intend to file.

The spontaneous reactions right across Plateau State and even beyond the state’s borders are undeniable pointers to the popularity of this public trust.

What the incoming Mutfwang Administration desires to see is a greater uplifting and better attention to accelerating the performance of the Judiciary as a whole.

This cannot be compromised in anyway, and for whatever motive.

MUTFWANG’S PLATEAU: GREAT EXPECTATIONS

Sunday Adam Jos

The drums are silent. The spontaneous celebrations that greeted the announcement of Caleb Mutfwang as winner of the March 18 Plateau State gubernatorial election are over. At least for now.

It is time to start strategizing for governance. Serious governance.

Uneasy lies the head that wears the crown. In Plateau State, the crown will be studded with thorns for the in-coming governor. The burdens he will inherit will be enormous and the weight of expectations of citizens is incredibly heavy, to say the least.

Victory, like the sweet smelling rose, attracts butterflies, other insects, even bees. Which sting. The governor-elect must apply wisdom and discernment to distinguish harmless insects from those that sting. These have the potential of inflicting pain and derailing his vision for this state which has suffered so much in the last eight years.

Political analysts suggest that he must stamp his foot down and not allow political jobbers, the bees, poison him into stupor, failure. The good thing, however, is that even his ardent critics and detractors agree that he possesses the grit to withstand all negative forces and confidently march on to meet the yearnings of citizens.

But have no doubt about this: the nature and prospects of a new government can be assessed by its initial steps. Therefore, Mutfwang should be very circumspect in the first steps he takes. Especially in the coming days when the heat will be on him as he begins assembling his team.

Is it better to step on toes now and attain success ultimately than pander to the whims of self-serving individuals now and reap the sour rewards later? Would a courageous and resolute leader not mind stepping on some toes here and there to pull through his vision? Some say that that would amount to political suicide. Perhaps?

Whatever be the case, Plateau State is on the brink today because in the last eight years it was saddled with a leadership that had no vision, lacked courage and was not decisive in handling critical matters of state. Barrister Mutfwang does not lack these requisite leadership qualities and values.

The buck always ends at the table of the leader, at the end of the day. But that is not all. All successes and failures also end up on his head. It is based on these that his tenure shall be finally adjudged to have either failed or succeeded.

At the end, the leader is left to himself, a solitary figure, to bear his own cross. He and he alone will account to God and man for his time on the exalted seat of power.

Then the butterflies, other insects and the bees would have already flown away to once again find another victim to suck, without any compunction whatsoever.

That is the cruel reality of leadership.

Surely, it is not all that glitters around Mutfwang at the moment that is gold. Therefore, he must studiously and dispassionately look about him and carefully select the seeds from the chaff. He must not fall into the quagmire of looking for familiar faces, considering personal relationships, giving in to the deceptions of eye-service merchants in apportionments key into and critical positions.

Of course, personal ties and such other considerations cannot be completely discountenanced while making appointments in a political system such as ours which thrives on patronage. But the overriding consideration should be merit and competence – if Plateau must move on from its current state of stasis.

Certainly, politicians, friends, bankers, businessmen and women, etc, would now be intensely lobbying and justling for plum political positions, contracts, government accounts and so on. Some will even set up 24-tents and lay siege at the residence and everywhere the governor-elect turns.

It is all part of the game, a necessary evil. But he must be able to see beyond the veils of self-seeking individuals and groups for whom access to power and its perks is nothing but an enterprise in self-enrichment.

Which is why Plateau State has been adrift in the last eight years. Mutfwang must avoid that destructive cesspit.

Social commentators assert that his job was distinctly cut out for him that fateful day the results were announced. There were unprecedented celebrations within and outside the state, even among Plateau citizens and other Nigerians in The Diaspora.

This is because of the strategic place Plateau occupies in the geo-politics of Nigeria, especially in core northern Nigeria.

Have we forgotten the efficacy of prayers on the Plateau? During the kick-off of the PDP campaigns at Shendam, Baba Jang knelt, prayed and made supplications on behalf of the people and state. In this most trying moment in the annals of the state, citizens must seek God’s face for forbearance and forgiveness, both Muslims and Christians.

That should be the starting point in this endeavour to set things right in this devastated land.

There is an urgent need for divine intervention as the next government takes over. No doubt, the state has been taken to the alters of strange gods and exposed to forces and principalities.

Plateau citizens have confidently placed their destiny in the hands of Mutfwang for renewal. They are rest assured that he will handle it with love, compassion and courage.

Time without number, he has shown that, indeed, he will not allow it slip from his fingers, fall and break.

They are certain that, despite the frightening and grim challenges on ground, their great expectations will be met – through diligent leadership and management of abundant human and scarce material resources.

Three Zones Intensify Battle For Speakership Over NASS Leadership

Sunday Adam Jos

The battle to head the incoming House of Representatives has commenced in full force as lawmakers are now meeting to navigate the thorny journey.

Lawmakers from different geopolitical zones have been meeting to mobilize both the old and the new members to give them momentum.

The race appears to be favouring the Northcentral, Northwest and Southeast because the president-elect, Bola Tinubu and his Vice, Kashim Shettima are from the Southwest and Northeast, respectively.

Also, religion will have an impact on this election because both Tinubu and Shettima are Muslims, hence, there will be a need for balance. The religious balance could happen in the Senate or the House of Representatives.

Also, unlike the incumbent president that has been very aloof in leadership tussle in his party, many believe that the president-elect is a different breed of politician. Several politicians have been trying to show that they have the nod of Tinubu.

However, with the history of rebellion in the House, the ruling party is in a tight spot. APC currently has 162 members, while the PDP has 102 members.

It would be recalled that rebellion in the House produced the leadership in 2011 and 2015. Without a clear majority, the APC may face another round of rebellion.

Here are some of the lawmakers in the battle for Gbajabiamila’s job.

Deputy Speaker Idris Wase (Plateau, Northcentral)

Deputy Speaker Wase is expected to announce his bid for the seat in a few days as he is waiting for an announcement by the ruling party.

Wase has been with Gbajabiamila for a long time since he was appointed as deputy Majority Leader to Gbajabiamila in 2018. They did a joint ticket in 2019. In addition, he has been with the ACN since 2007.

However, Wase’s temperament is a major factor. As the deputy speaker, he has had open confrontations with several lawmakers.

He will have to battle another Plateau lawmaker in this race.

Yusuf Gagdi (Plateau Northcentral)

The former Plateau State House of Assembly member is also a strong contender in the race.

He is yet to officially declare, but DAILY POST learnt he has been meeting with journalists and others ahead of any decision by the party.

Gagdi’s relationship with Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau, who served as the Director General of the Tinubu Campaign Organization may count for him.

Also, Gagdi is equally close to the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila.

He is also dogged by temperament issues, as he has had one or two face-off with other members in the current assembly.

Alhassan Doguwa

Doguwa, the Majority Leader of the House of Representatives has never hidden his desire to become the Speaker.

However, Doguwa is currently in a trouble that is bigger than chasing the speakership. He is facing trial over the alleged killing of some persons during a confrontation between APC and NNPP supporters in the February presidential and National Assembly elections.

Even his election has been declared inconclusive. Ordinarily, Doguwa would have gotten the backing of 23 other lawmakers from Kano, however, 17 of them are members of the NNPP.

Ben Kalu

In the event that the Senate Presidency is moved away from the south, Kalu, one of the few lawmakers from the Southeast, will be in a good position.

Although, his leader, Orji Kalu is running to be Senate President, however, with strong contenders from Northwest, the Speakership may become some sort of compensation to Kalu.

Muktar Betara

The Chairman House Committee on Appropriation is another contender. The media shy Betara is believed to be involved in serious deliberation.

However, he is from Borno State, the same state as Shettima, the Vice President-elect.

Although, in 2019, Gbajabiamila emerged as Speaker despite being from the same region as Yemi Osinbajo.

In a few weeks, the picture will become clearer, especially when the APC releases its zoning arrangement.

2 businessmen sue IGP, others over alleged unlawful arrest, demand N10bn as damages

Sunday Adam Jos

FILES] Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba

Two Jos based businessmen, Moses Dalyop and Abdulmumuni Yakubu, have sued IGP Usman Baba over their alleged unlawful arrest, demanding N10 billion as damages.

Other respondents in the suit filed at the Plateau High Court in Jos are the Nigerian Police Force, DCP Olatunji Disu, Chuangyue Industrial Nig. Ltd, and Chen Taohong.

businessmen, in the suit filed by their lawyer, Gyang Zi, are seeking the court’s enforcement of their fundamental human rights, alleging unlawful arrest, assault, torture, detention, embarrassment, harassment, pain, and inconveniences caused to them.
In the process filed on Friday and made available to newsmen in Jos, the claimants who have been in police detention for one week, urged the court to declare their detention unlawful.

They also urged the court give an order of perpetual injunction restraining the respondents either by themselves, servants, privies, or officers from further arresting, torturing, humiliating, harassing, threatening or detaining them in connection with the case.

null

The claimants further demanded an order directing the respondents to release them from their custody forthwith.
Grounds upon which the reliefs were sought were that the two claimants were arrested on Jan. 13 and Jan. 14, respectively by men of the Police Force Intelligence Unit and were taken to A Division Police station, Jos.

According to the Affidavit deposed to, they were later moved to FCT, Abuja, and detained in the custody of DCP Olatunji Disu, Officer in charge of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT).
Zi said that his clients were arrested based on the complaint of the Chuangyue Industrial Nig. LTD and Chen Taohong to IRT.

Counsel to the complainants, Mr Gyang Zi who filed the suit described the conduct of the respondents against his clients as a violation of the provision of chapter IV of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

Zi argued that the detention of his clients violated their fundamental rights before the eyes of the law.
The legal practitioner explained that Ellipse Industries Limited and Chuangyue Industrial Nig LTD and Chen Taohong had a joint venture agreement.

Based on the terms of the agreement, Ellipse Industries Limited was entitled to 30 per cent of mined products while Chuangyue Industrial Nigeria Limited is entitled to 70 per cent.

However, the venture agreement between the parties in dispute later became a subject of misunderstanding leading to the 4th and 5th defendants’ business partners engaging the men of the Nigeria Police to arrest and detain the applicants

BREAKING NEWS: Apc Hards To Court Says ” Election was rigged, we will go to court and collect our Mandate”

Sunday Adam Jos

The Governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress in Plateau Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda has vowed to challenge his defeat in court alleging that the polls were rigged.
Dr. Nentawe made this statement when a group of party faithful and loyalists paid him a courtesy visit in his home, shortly after the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) declared the candidate of the PDP, Barr Caleb Mutfwang winner of the March 18th polls.

Dr. Nentawe was quoted as saying “We are sincere in our hearts and our votes, We didn’t rig anywhere, but in two local Governments they (PDP) came with a difference of over one hundred thousand and we knew it was rigged”

We reported low voter turnout and yet the votes increased with over 30 percent, so how can low voter turnout become high voting turnout? We will have BVAS records and challenge it in court and collect our mandate” He said.

Nentawe urged his supporters to remain hopeful and stand by him. he called on them to be civil and not insult anyone but just to stand by the mandate of the party in Plateau.

Dr. Nentawe was a former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue state who only last year resign his position to contest for governorship under the platform of the APC.

He emerged as the party Gubernatorial flagbearer under circumstances that many party faithful describe as manipulative amongst whom was the Gurber candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Patrick Dakum who later decamped and finished 3rd in the polls.

The APC candidate lost with 481,370 against the candidate of the PDP, Barr Caleb Mutfwang who polled a total of 525,299.

Labour Party’s, Dr Patrick Dakum who finished a far 3rd with 60,310 votes, has since called the candidate of the PDP to congratulate him.

Barr Gyang Davou, made the call on Monday 20th March at the State Governorship Collation Center, while results for Jos North Local Government Area were presented, with the Local Government returning officer giving a report for the absence of Narraguta B Ward which he said was not captured.

He alleged that the Council boss, Hon Bala Usman was responsible for the missing Bimodal Voter Accreditation System BVAS and the disappearance of the INEC Adhoc staff.

“What Happened in Jos North was very unfortunate and an act of criminality, as BVAS and INEC ad-hoc staff disappeared into thin air. It is very unfortunate that the election took place and people disappeared with Government Property and shows the level of desperation by some politicians”.

The Chairman of the Local Government Council is not supposed to come into the collation center and was the one making a case for the ad-hoc staff that was absent. I am calling for his arrest because he knows where the BVAS is and was also responsible for the absence of the INEC ad-hoc staff. He was mediating between the people that were not seen and the collation officer”.

“So he should be arrested and prosecuted as a deterrent to serve as a deterrent that people should allow the process to continue without unnecessary obstructions”. Barr Gyang Davou stated
