GOD DOES NOT USE AMAN WITHOUT AN EXPERIENCE – NCPC BOSS

Sunday Adam Jos

The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission NCPC, Rev Dr. Yakubu Pam has said that God does not use a man without an experience, but he uses men who had gained different experiences in life. He made this assertion when he paid a courtesy visit to the former Governor of Plateau State, Senator Joshua Dariye in his residence in Jos, Plateau State Capital on Saturday 24th September, 2022.

He informed his host that he came to felicitate with him over his release from prison by the Federal Government of Nigeria.

The NCPC boss congratulated Senator Dariye over his release from prison. In his words, “we have come to celebrate your triumph over falsehood and we acknowledge that it is God who have done this great work for the people of Plateau State”.

Rev Pam affirmed that Senator Dariye is one of the Governors who have worked so hard to build Plateau State and has also contributed immensely to the growth and development of the state.

The NCPC helmsman commended Senator Dariye for standing strong in the mist of his adversities and not giving up. According to him, “ Despite all the challenges you faced, God brought you out of them all. “Indeed , you stood, you fought and you conquered”, he said.

He prayed for God to strengthen, uphold him and continually help him to be focused so that the purpose for what God has destined you will be accomplished”.

Rev Pam thanked President Buhari and all those who have contributed in one way or the other to the release of the former Executive Governor of Plateau State.

In his response, Senator Joshua Dariye thanked the NCPC boss and his team for their visit. According to him, “I appreciate you my brother for standing by me through the period of my challenges”.

He expressed his gratitude to God who kept him throughout the time of trials. In his words, “Through this all, God was there with me and indeed He has glorified himself”

He thanked the church for their prayers and their support. According to him,” the Lord was my strength, the church prayed and God himself came through for me.”

Senator Dariye described the NCPC boss as a great man with so much humility and a man that had gone through many persecutions before he was announced as the Executive Secretary of NCPC. “You must go through many challenges before you are announced to the world,” he said.

He urged Christians to always read their bibles and stand by the truth because according to him, “when you read the truth, the truth gives liberation”.

In another development, the NCPC Chief Executive was honoured with an award of Excellence by the Mupun Youth Association during their second annual Public Lecture and Magazine Launch Award, in Jos, Plateau State on 24th September, 2022.

At the event, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam who was the Father of the day at the occasion, commended the Mupun Youth Association for putting together this yearly lecture and magazine launch that affords the people of Mupun the opportunity to come together as a people of one tribe and one culture. In his words, “I am proud of what is happening here today because the people of Mupun are promoting their culture”.

The NCPC boss explained that Plateau State has one of the richest culture in Nigeria and urged the Mupun to ensure that their cultural heritage is preserved. According to him, “Let us not only preserve and promote our culture but we should also work hard to meet our needs and earn a living”.

He explained that culture is as old as the human race and our character, behavior and language are all imbedded in our culture. In his words, “our culture in Plateau State is such that everyone will want to identify with because we are people who are decent in character and behaviour”. “No wonder our culture is almost influencing other states in the middle belt”, he said.

He thanked Mupun Youth for honouring him with the award and promised his unflinching support to the association.

APC Presidential Campaign Chieftain fires Dogara for Muslim Muslim ticket comments

Sunday Adam Jos

On Tuesday, September 20, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara said the APC’s Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket is “doomed to end in a spectacular failure.” and called on Christians “to resist the temptation not to waste their votes in the 2023 general elections.

Responding to the concerns of Yakubu Dogara, the chief of staff  to the Director General of the APC presidential  campaign organization, Hon Yakubu Dati, said Dogara is only trying to stoke the embers of discord by playing the religious card after failing to ignite a religious war since he lost the bid to be nominated running mate to the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said the former Speakers comments did not go beyond his usual championing of selfish interest under the guise of religious equity and failed to contextualize his understanding of what state and nation building constitute in the current political dispensation”.

Dati added that “One  would have thought that if the former Speaker understands thoroughly the concept of nation building that he would have appreciated the bid to move the psyche of Nigerians from premodial sentiments to issues of development as there is nowhere in history that staying trapped in the past has served as a sine qua non for development”.

For  this, lots of people have called attention to the fact that it is only when Dogara lost the bid to be running mate to Tinubu that he suddenly realized there was something wrong with the APC and the significance of religiously balanced ticket”.

According to him “All  the while it seemed okay for Dogara to be paired with Tinubu only because he sees himself as a frontline contender for the position and nothing more”.

“But  Christians in Nigeria are not fooled as they know very well those who have stood for them in the past and that Dogara is not one of them as all his politics bear no such testimonies”

“Judging  by the former Speaker’s antecedents, I dare say that even if Tinubu had picked a Christian other than him as running mate, that Dogara would still have been sour as his records have shown that he is the type that always views things from a selfish perspective”.

The chief of staff to the APC presidential campaign DG, further stated that Dogara can only fool those who don’t know him that he is embarking on a crusade for equity but for some of us who are well aware of his past, know that his narcissistic tendencies always becloud his sense of judgment.

He said starting from the former Speaker’s Constituency of Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency. Though the Constituency has a good mixture of Muslims and Christians, no one has raised the religious card when he was elected into the House of Representatives for a record four times!

“In a constituency that has three local governments and strongly believes in rotation, one would have expected Dogara to lead by example by upholding equity through a rotational system that would have accommodated the others.”

“If  Dogara believes in equity and fairness why has he not made sacrifice to allow the two other local governments produce the Reps member for the constituency after he had served two terms in the House as has been the practice”.

“As a good Christian that he claims to be , that would have served to establish that he believes in justice and fairness. But no”.

“From  there, one can see that typically, Dogara only raises his voice when the situation does not favour him but when it does, he closed his eyes to it”.

“That  was how because of personal interest, he surprised many when he bit the hands that fed him by trying to upstage Prof. Bogoro from the TETFUND simply because he felt the latter through his philanthropic gestures was becoming more popular than him in the Constituency”

“His faceoff with the former governor of Bauchi State, M.A. Abubakar who enabled him retain his seat to become speaker also points to the fact that Dogara is only loyal to himself”.

“But  perhaps the worst show of indignity and moral perversion was when the former Speaker having decamped to the PDP and won his seat in 2019, tried to circumvent the convention of the House of Representatives by working to return as speaker of the House on a minority ticket until the plot was discovered and nipped in the bud”.

To  show how much he is lacking in principle, the former Speaker has changed political platforms more than four times at various times depending on his interest”

“So  it is clear that as far as Dogara is concerned, all that matters in politics is not the development of his people or meaningful representation but Dogara, Dogara and Dogara”.

“If  there’s anybody who should have been vexed with Tinubu for not picking him as running mate, it should have been the governor of Plateau State, Simon Bako Lalong who has given his all to the APC”

“At  the time under consideration, Lalong remained the only APC christian governor in Northern Nigeria and is privileged to be chairman of the Northern Governors Forum but when the party went ahead and nominated another for the position of running mate, he did not try to bring down the house but took it on good faith”.

“This  is unlike Dogara who left the party at its trying moment and came back only when the party has consolidated its hold on the polity”.

“The  Plateau State governor even bears one of the most prestigious honours in the Catholic church but does not use that to beguile his political interest”.

“Fortunately , the Christian community in northern Nigeria knows better and is not ready to be led by the nose by the likes of Dogara”.

“My advice to Dogara would be a rephrase of what former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Attahiru Jega told former minister, Godsday Orubebe during the collation of results for the 2015 presidential polls when the latter tried to disrupt the process” he said.

‘Mr. Dogara, you’re a former Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, so you should be careful about the things you say and your public conduct.
‘You hail from a multi religious background and owe your rise politically to same; you should not be the one planting seeds of religious discord in Nigeria.’ Dati stated

RE: PLATEAU PDP STAKEHOLDERS DISOWN JANG Is FALSE

Sunday Adam Jos

Chieftains of the peoples Democratic party attention has been drawn to a publication purportedly issued by a certain unknown group dubbed Plateau for Atiku group and signed by its Protem Secretary, Prof. Shedrack Best. The group in the said publication alleged that Plateau PDP stakeholders disowned Sen (Dr) Jonah David Jang for asking the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu to resign.
Media Consultant to Sen. Jonah David Jang Clinton Garuba in a press Statement Said
Perhaps it is important to school the said group, which has arrogated to itself the noble position of stakeholders, which it indeed is not, of the dynamics of the politics of the PDP to which they are latter-day entrants. They may have been carried away by blind followership to know that Sen. Jang and the other founding fathers of the PDP built it on the principles of justice, equity and fairness and it is these principles that held the party to where it is today. Subverting the constitution of the party long-held tradition of inclusiveness is a sure way to derail the party from getting back to its winning ways.
Senator Jang and the real stakeholders in the party are not surprised that such a publication is authored by Prof. Shedrack Best who is still aggrieved and sulking over his loss in the recently held primaries of the PDP in Plateau State. He needs to let go of the bitterness against Jang as he is not responsible for his loss, as the stakeholders agreed then that, the delegates voted for aspirants and only one winner could emerge.
It is true that Senator Jang and other prominent members of the party have been with Governor Nyesom Wike in the fight to entrench truth, equity and the need to give all members a sense of belonging and they have also made it clear that it is for the purpose of moving the party forward and leading it to victory at the polls.
Those who have followed Jang closely will attest to the consistent history of Jang as it relates to truth and fairness , such that as a sitting Governor, he once challenged a sitting President of Nigeria who was also a member of same political party ( PDP) in court.
Prof. Best of all people should know that in pursuit of truth , Jang is always prepared to tow the lonely path.
Several calls have been made to the party to salvage the situation and resolve the issues arising from the outcome of the presidential primaries but it seems all call fell on deaf ears. Instead of reinforcing the call on the leadership of the party to do the right thing, it is unfortunate that the so-called unknown stakeholders are seeking for relevance by using the name of Senator Jang as a launching path. They could go ahead with supporting former Vice President Atiku Abubakar without dragging Senator Jang into their journey to infamy.
They should make no mistake either, about the fact that, Senator Jonah Jang does not have anything personal against His Excellency , Atiku Abubakar as those in this journey of infamy will recall that in 2019 , mobilized his personal resources in support of Atiku despite the fact funds made available for the campaigns was in an attempt to ridicule Jang sent to the wrong persons .
Former Governor Jang has decided to go with the group that believes in the truth and is not surprised that this group of “stakeholders” is not in agreement with the path he has chosen. He did not envisage that everyone will agree with him but he is working based on his conviction that the truth must be told in the interest of the party.
Every loyal party man or woman is indeed wishing for a peaceful resolution of the self-inflicted and avoidable internal crisis rocking the party and it is the belief of Jang that those who have the interest of the party at heart should insist that the right thing is done in order for the PDP to take its rightful place of pride as the only truly democratic party.
Senator Jang and others have made their call loud enough for anyone who wants to listen and the call still remains that in the interest of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu should resign as the national chairman of the PDP. That is the just, fair and equitable thing to do, to pave the way for resolution of the crisis and set the party on the path to winning the 2023 presidential elections.

DR. PATRICK DAKUM IS THE LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE

Sunday Adam Jos

The governorship campaign team of Dr. Patrick Dakum commends the doggedness and resilience of its countless supporters who did not yield to the discouragement strategy of the propaganda ministers of falsehood of the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, who are bent on causing confusion in the Labour Party by insisting that the former Governorship candidate of the party, Yohana Margif who resigned and was replaced with Dr. Patrick Dakum, remains the authentic one. Your stance on social media, calls, visitation and text messages to the governorship candidate have proven your commitment and determination for a better and excellent change of governance on the Plateau, and by the grace of God it would come to fruition.
To put the records straight, Margif was already replaced by Dr. Dakum by virtue of the governorship primary held on August 5, 2022 under the supervision of the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, where the latter emerged victorious. It would be recalled that the Labour Party in a letter to INEC dated 2nd August, 2022 signed by its National Chairman Barrister Julius Abure and the National Secretary, Alhaji Umar Farouk Ibrahim, notified the electoral body of the resignation of the governorship candidates of seven states including Plateau, for fresh primaries to be held which were later on done on August 5, 2022.
We will like our teeming supporters to know that the Labour Party recognizes Dr. Dakum as the Governorship candidate of Plateau State and his name is already uploaded on INEC’s list of Governorship candidates of Nigeria.
There is no court of law that restrained Dakum from parading himself as the Governorship candidate.
Yohana Margif is the complainant who dragged Labour Party, Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, and Dr. Dakum to court seeking interlocutory injunction restraining them from substituting him but the court refused to grant the request based on a withdrawal letter from him that is in circulation.
Margif is the erstwhile candidate who now wants the court to restore him as the governorship candidate despite his resignation and subsequent expulsion from the party.
Since the case is in court and it is yet to pass its verdict, the status quo remains unchanged. Dr. Dakum is the candidate recognized by INEC and the Labour Party.
Please count the growling noise of the APC propaganda machines as wailing of retreating soldiers in a defeated battle.
They are not the Labour Party and cannot decide for it. They are not INEC to tell Nigerians who the Labour Party governorship candidate is, and they are not the High Court to pass the verdict disqualifying Dr. Patrick Dakum. They are mere lazy bones and busy bodies who are bankrupt of political ideas and lacking the capacity to live up like men to face fierce political challenge, but seeking simple rivers to cross. Chief Obafemi Awolowo said, “Strong, courageous, resourceful and self confident people are never afraid of rivals or competitors.”
The APC’s insistence on Margif as the authentic Labour Party governorship candidate is a total show of cowardice seeking for easy ways to win the 2023 governorship election because their candidate is no match for Dr. Patrick Dakum.
The APC has already accepted defeat by the propaganda insisting on Margif we should therefore celebrate, accelerate and intensify our support for Dr. Patrick Dakum with courage and confidence.

2023: Lalong can’t deliver Plateau for Tinubu…Rep Bagos

Sunday Adam Jos

Deputy chairman House of Representatives committee on anti-corruption, Rep. Dachung Musa Bagos has declared that Plateau state Governor, Simon Lalong, who is the Director General of the Ahmed Bola Tinubu Presidential campaign will not be able to deliver the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state in 2023

Bagos who spoke to Journalists said the youths have taken a direction that all political parties need to work hard to get votes for their candidates.

“I want to let you know that the people of Plateau are waiting for February 25, 2023, to pass their verdict on Governor Lalong and his presidential candidate, Ahmed Bola Tinubu.

“I can assure you that every candidate will get votes according to his performance, the governor has failed Plateau people in all areas since 2015 that is why he can not deliver Plateau State to the APC and Presidential elections, being a DG will not change the decision of the Youths and Plateau electorate”

Bagos who currently represents Jos south/Jos east Federal constituency, in the National Assembly, says apart from the poor performance of APC in both Plateau and the national level, the youths are now, more than ever, ready to take back their country.

“Remember, the youths constitute more than 60 per cent of the electorates, and by the way, “How can a party that has kept our youths, the students at home for more than half a year get votes from the same people who have been denied their right to education, the same group of Nigerians who have no jobs, people who are pauperised, how can they vote for the APC?

“How can the youths whose parents and relatives have been killed by terrorists and bandits, who have been displaced give their votes again to failed promises? This is simply impossible”

While commenting on the chances of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, the lawmaker acknowledged the efforts of the youths who are mobilizing for the former Anambra governor, “Honestly, even my party the PDP has a lot of work to do to convince the youthful voters because the youths are working tirelessly for any possible options on candidates not party. I believe that after careful analysis and strategic considerations, the youths will make the right choice, not based on emotions but on logical consideration of the different voting blocks in the country.

OH! GOV. SIMON LALONG WHY?

Sunday Adam Jos

When a king forgets his humble beginnings and the process that led to him becoming king he becomes irresponsible and irrational in his actions and reactions. In recent times Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State has been credited to making divisive, disgruntled, bitter, malicious and hate speeches/remarks towards the TAROK people of Plateau State calling them “a people that play clannish politics” and this is done with the sole purpose of inciting the other tribes or clans in Plateau state against the Tarok people.
The only reason that comes to mind on why Gov. Simon Lalong will decide to belittle himself and tow this line of action is simply because of nothing other than for his own selfish political gain. In towing this path Gov. Simon Lalong has either deliberately refused to take history into account or as it is turning to be, he is completely ignorant of events in the past where politicians in other clans who engaged in this same trajectory as he is now doing, ended up creating the foundation for very horrific atrocities and genocide to be committed against the group of people that are projected negatively. Examples of such historic atrocities that occurred due to the manipulation of the masses by the political heads against a particular tribe are the Ugandan genocide and the German holocust.
Gov. Simon Lalong’s actions and utterances against the humble and peaceful people of Tarokland is openly insinuating and projecting the Tarok as the enemy of Plateau State and like all enemies anywhere in the world, the only fate they face or deserve is total destruction. Directly and indirectly Gov. Simon Lalong has branded the people of Tarok as the problem of Plateau state that needs to be taken care of and this is an open prayer and call for other tribes in Plateau state to collectively rise up and destroy the Tarok . Gov. Simon Lalong is simply planting and spreading hate in the heart of the Plateau people against the tarok tribe with the intention of it translating to war and genocide against the Tarok people.
The simple question here is what wrong have the Tarok people done to warrant this targeted blackmail ? The answer is simply nothing other than the fact that sons and daughters of Tarok are aspiring to contest and win elective offices in the forth coming 2023 general election in Plateau state. Like all other tribes spread across Plateau state there are persons who are contesting elective offices; even where he, the governor comes from there are persons who are contesting elective offices, so why should the case of the Tarok be different?

The Freedom to vote and be voted for is one of the major fundamentals of the democratic system of governance and the Tarok people, as Nigerians and indigenous of Plateau State only naturally qualify to enjoy these rights. There is nothing wrong if the Tarok people are clamouring to choose their leaders as long as they do not embark on any activity that will undermine the peace, integrity and existing social fabrics of the state.
It should be noted that even the United Nations has a provision for a group of people to decide to want their own rule and control which is called the “right of self-determination” but though it is not applicable in this scenario the reference is made to show that there is nothing wrong for people to want to be in charge.
Gov. Simon Lalong who accuses the tarok people of being clannish politicians cannot claim that he has not supported any person from his own clan over any other contestant from another clan throughout his reign as the governor of the state . Is he also claiming that he will not support even if it is one person from his own clan over another person from another clan in the forth coming election.
He who seeks equity and justice must first come with clean hands. It is time that the records be set straight and the facts made bare. It should be known and categorically stated that Gov. Simon Lalong is Plateau state’s number one propagator and beneficiary of clannish, divisive and sectional politics. Prior to the 2015 general elections there was strong tussle regarding where the next governor of Plateau state should come from with a strong clamour for power to shift to Southern Plateau. Since this clamour favored him, Gov. Simon Lalong exploited as well as instigated emotional sentiments and divisive sentiments that made Plateau State experience deep political tension and bitterness as never experienced between Northern and Southern Plateau and till date, the damage done by Gov. Simon Lalong’s vengeful and malicious campaign during the 2015 governorship elections are still being felt because Northern and Southern Plateau are still struggling to visualize themselves as one.
Considering Gov. Simon Lalong’s current claim and propagation that the Tarok people are clannish politicians it is very clear that he is a deceitful, shady, crooked, twisted and manipulative man who is self-centered. When it was convenient and it suited his interest divisive and sectional politics was the best approach to actualize his political ambition but when others show interest in capturing power and make a genuine appeal for power to be rotated to their area and that appeal does not go down with him he labels it clannish and divisive politics and portray those people as the evil that must be destroyed.

With all humility it can be stated that the Tarok people played an important role in ensuring that Gov. Simon Lalong emerged victorious in the 2015 governorship elections. Prior to the 2015 election Gov. Simon Lalong never enjoyed the full confidence and support of the APC , it was some Tarok persons who used their own networks to secure the necessary political and financial support for him from the North Central Presidential Council then. Apart from this singular incident the Tarok people vigorously campaigned and supported Gov. Simon Lalong and Tarok land turned out to be one of his strongest base. This is the same people who he now refers as “clannish politicians”.
So how can the Tarok people who supported the journey to victory of Gov. Simon Lalong all of a sudden turn out to be clannish politicians and are seen as the evil that must be destroyed in Plateau State , simply because they asked for the opportunity to choose their own. For record purposes it should be noted that the Tarok people never demanded and have never demanded for power, they only asked. All other tribes in Plateau state also have the freewill to ask for the opportunity to choose of their own. The people of Plateau State should please be unbiased and fair judges of this scenario playing out.

DAKUM IS THE AUTHENTIC, LEGAL AND INEC RECOGNIZED PLATEAU LABOUR PARTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE.

Sunday Adam Jos

Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum is the authentic, legal and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) recognized Plateau State Governorship Labour Party (LP) candidate.
This is simply because Dakum’s name is the duly nominated personalty and submitted by the LP and his name is on the INEC portal, hence Amb Yohanna Yibpwan Margif’s originating summons placed Dr Patrick Dakum as the second defendant while the Labour Party is the first defendant and the Independent National Electoral Commission, who supervised the primary election of 5th August, 2022 as the third defendant.

Reliable legal sources revealed that before the legitimate Labour Party Governorship primary of the 5th of August, 2022, Amb.Yohanna Yilpwan Margif had voluntarily withdrew from the Governorship race on the 2nd of August, 2022, his letter of withdrawal signed by him and same content related to the LP and the LP wrote to INEC indicating his withdrawal and the need to conduct replacement election primaries in eleven states including Plateau State for Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and House of Assembly seats.

Permission was granted by INEC and the primaries of 5th August, 2022 produced Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum as the authentic and legally recognized Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Candidate in full glare of LP delegates, INEC, Security operatives, NGOs, CSOS and Journalists in Jos.

When the LP in the ward of Yohanna Yilpwan Margif discovered that he was involved in anti party activities against the LP, faced with undaunted petitions on his criminal activities, hobnobbing with the APC Government, issuance of dud cheques, trading with the LP and unpleasant immoral acts, he was expelled from the LP in his ward, Bokkos Local Government Area Chapter expelled him, the state also expelled him and his expulsion was ratified on the 9th of August, 2022.
He went to court on the 12th of August, 2022 when he was no longer a member of the LP.

Yohanna Yilpwan Margif was aware of the August 5th, 2022 Governorship replacement primaries but he did not go to court to stop the primaries that produced Dr Dakum, possibly because he was not interested and in any case, is someone who is always in detention good enough for any political party and political office? No.

In accordance with the 2022 Electoral Act, Margif dully signed form EC 11B which enabled the Labour Party to inform INEC for the August 5th, 2022 primary which produced Dr Dakum as the legitimate and INEC recognised Plateau State LP Governorship candidate to fly it’s flag in the 2023 General Elections.

It is pertinent to note that the matter in the Federal High Court Jos is not a case of double nomination nor is there any circular to transfer the Labour Party case to Abuja but the handiwork of one Miss Nandir, in the Registry, who was a House of Assembly aspirant in the APC in Langtang North Central, who is bent on helping the Lalong Government in scuttling the chances of the LP Governorship candidate and the LP in Plateau State to give the APC mileage in the 2023 Governorship Election.

Legal pundits posits that it is also worthy of note that Margif’s case is a pre- election matter which is to run for 180 days but if the plaintiff is dragging his matter by frustrating hearing, it might at the long run be at his peril.

Legal sources equity indicate that the file will be returned to Jos and in few days, a date for hearing may be set.

Legal sources revealed that it should also be on record that Margif, the plaintiff was not an aspirant of the LP at any point to contest against Dr Dakum, therefore, he can not sue to challenge the primaries where Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum emerged as the Plateau State Labour Party Governorship candidate.

Similarly, legal pundits said, on point of law, if Margif, the plaintiff did not withdraw, why did he not approach the court to stop the primaries that produced Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum as the validly elected LP Plateau State Governorship candidate? It is because Margif withdraw from the race that was why INEC allowed for the replacement primaries, Dakum’s name uploaded on INEC portal and that is why Margif is in court.

It is on record that Margif submitted an affidavit on his withdrawal on the 2nd of August, 2023 voluntarily and the LP forwarded same to INEC.

From the submissions above with relevant documents presented, legal pundits said, duly signed by Margif and the expulsion of Amb Yohanna Yilpwan Margif, he has no locus standi to institute a matter against the LP, where he is no longer a member. On the issue of the purchase of forms, it is well known that political parties’ forms are non refundable when bought but receipts issued after payments are made.
In a further and better affidavit signed and presented to the Federal High Court Jos, Yohanna Yilpwan Margif hinted that there were discrepancies in the preliminary objections of the Labour Party, Dr Patrick Dakum and INEC in the spelling of his name, dates and a disclaimer by the chairman of his ward but legal sources revealed that in pre-election matters, minor discrepancies are not taken too seriously as compared to the main election and post-election cases. It was also asserted that, was Amb.written on the WAEC results he presented to the party or INEC?What date did he sit for WAEC?Should the discrepancies on the Yohanna Yilpwan Margif found on his originating summons, where PDP was written in bracket instead of LP also be used to dismiss his case?

On the issue of disclaimer by his expelled chairman, legal pundits believe it will not hold water as all ward Exco members signed his expulsion as attached to the preliminary objections.

COALITION OF PATRIOTICPOLITICAL PARTIES (COPPP) RAISE ALARM OVER BY APC TO USE INEC RIG 2023 ELECTION

Sunday Adam

We’ve read with repugnant concerns, rumors of alleged attempts by the APC to weaponize the office of the INEC’s Head of ICT in Plateau State to perpetrate some electoral malpractices under the guise of data collation for Job screening exercises.

Part of this forms the rumors of PVC racketeering through the office of the SSG as prerequisite for employments or empowerment, an act tantamount to vote buying, which is an electoral offense clearly enshrined with clear punishments under the new electoral act.

The desperation of the APC and her Guber candidate cannot be overlooked or underestimated, taking cognizance of the role the candidate himself played in the fraudulent process that brought him on board and his unpatriotic and insubordinate activities as a partisan REC, as confirmed by one of his allies and financiers, Hon. Gagdi in so many interviews.

We’re not oblivious of the close relationship between the head of ICT in INEC Plateau State and the APC Guber candidate in the State, his calculated redeployment by the APC to take over a sensitive unit that can aid and abate manipulations and tempering of a fair electoral process in favor of his former boss.

We hereby caution INEC to take swift actions on this matter and bring who ever culpable to discipline before it degenerates, jeopardizes and puts to question the integrity of all the labor INEC is investing and commiting thus far.
As critical stakeholders and partners of INEC in ensuring a smooth transition, we deemed it very imperative that we lend our voices in denunciation of such reckless, unpatriotic and undemocratic allegations that has the potency of undermining our electoral institutions and core values.

Consequent on the forgoing, we demand that INEC moves for an immediate removal of the current head of ICT, Mr. Mahmood Umaar out of Plateau State and place him under investigation for the purpose of equity and transparency.

INEC must consciously educate the general public on the need to refrain from falling cheap into the hands of desperate and unpatriotic politicians who see the PVC as a mere meal ticket other than a weapon of civic liberation from bad Governance .

While we await your maximum response and corporation on this matter, we remain law abiding and committed towards the actualization of a transparent, dignified and credible elections in Nigeria come 2023 and beyond.

Long live INEC
Long live Plateau State

Plans To Rig 2023 Elections In Plateau Uncovered -Langtang North LGA Chairman

Sunday Adam Jos

The Chairman of Langtang North LGA of Plateau State, Hon. Joshua Ubandoma Laven has described as very unfortunate the statement credited to Governor Simon Lalong and the Director-General of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organisation in Southern Plateau that whoever did not want to remain in APC should leave the party.

Laven wondered how Governor could boast openly that APC will win the three Senatorial districts, eight federal houses of representatives and all the 24 seats in the state house of the assembly during the 2023 polls.

Laven decried the governor’s outburst at the weekend while addressing APC stakeholders in Shendam saying whoever feels disenfranchised should go to court and seek redress because they have federal might.

He said, “It means that as Director-General Tinubu/Shettima campaigns organisation they have concluded plans to rig the 2023 election in the state. I can assure anybody that cares to listen that with that statement, the Governor is going to find it very tough.

“He has said it clearly that the election is going to be rigged, I want to know whether INEC has given the power to the governor to come out openly to make such statement that whether we like it or not is a concluded deal”

Laven explained that this is not how a leader should speak adding that governor Lalong is always making a statement that is tantamount to tearing the state apart.

He also stated that the Plateau governor should stay clear from Plateau Southern zone saying if the governor defeated them through the ballot, they will accept the defeat but vowed that he can not rig them out in 2023.

“Governor Lalong can not do that in Southern Plateau because he has no capacity to do that. With this statement, we are not going to take it likely with him. INEC and the general public should know that Governor Lalong and the Federal Government have concluded plans to rig the 2023 general election in Plateau state because he is the DG Tinubu/Shettima campaigns Organisation.”

However, in a swift reaction, the state publicity secretary of APC Hon Sylvanus Namang said the opposition party has already conceded defeat before the election in 2023 in the state.

According to Namang, ‘ they are jittery of the ruling party everywhere in the state even when they have not stated campaigns.”

According to him, they are just testing the microphone, adding that APC is fully prepared to win all the Senatorial districts, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly seats in the state and nothing more.

Plateau University ASUU Condemn PLSG No work, No Pay Policy

Sunday Adam

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Plateau State University Branch, held a Congress
meeting today 12th September, 2022 to assess the TOTAL, COMPREHENSIVE, and INDEFINITE strike
action.

Chairman of the union Dr Monday Hassan Zitta in a press statement Said the Congress acknowledged the letter written to the branch and deliberated on the ill-advised
directive given by the state government to apply the no-work-no-pay rule for members of the union. The
Congress deliberated and wished to, again, remind the Government that:
This agreement was reached despite the initial stance of ASUU that the fate of education in the entire
country must be critically addressed before issues at the branches are tackled. The National Executive
Council of ASUU involving principal officers and members of the union made extra efforts in giving
attention to the negotiation in order to cover a gap so that students and lecturers will resume as soon as
other crucial issues that affect university education in the whole country are resolved.
During that negotiation, the representatives of the government were continually reminded that the
issues at the national level affects all public universities in Nigeria; therefore, the strike action by
lecturers in the university is far from the idea of sympathy. It is not a mere act of solidarity. The strike by
lecturers in Plateau State University is the same strike that every lecturer in every public Nigerian
university is embarking upon to ensure that no public university in Nigeria finds itself at a dehad-end.
In this patriotic sense, there is no Federal ASUU and no State ASUU. There is only ASUU demanding that
the government acts responsibly in ensuring quality university education in the country.
We wish to draw your attention to the fact that Plateau State University cannot thrive in isolation, it
needs the support of other universities within and outside the country in the same way that all
universities in the world collaborate with each other.
There are many challenges facing Plateau State University, which are more than the challenges facing
many other public universities in Nigeria. Without the effort and sacrifices made by ASUU, no
Department in the university will come close to passing the accreditation tests and the National
University Commission would have since closed down the institution. It is also significant to note that
more than 90% of the structures and facilities in Plateau State University were implemented by Tetfund
or Needs Assessment fund (Revitalisation). The state government has not offered sponsorship both local
and international to any academic staff. The staff have relied on Tetfund, Needs Assessment, or their

is important to remind you also that issues being discussed and negotiated have far-reaching
consequences on Plateau State University. These are some gains that have come to the university:
Revitalisation Funds, in the previous release of revitalisation funds, for instance, the Plateau State
University has received over two hundred million naira for improvements of structures and facilities. It
will interest the public to note that in the 2022 budget, the state government allocated only a total sum
of 214 million naira for capital projects in the State University in which nothing has been released while
funding from Tetfund capital projects is over two hundred billion naira and some are ongoing.
Renegotiation/welfare of academic staff, the welfare of lecturers at the Plateau State University cannot
not be undermined. If the renegotiation is implemented, the state has more to benefit when the
lecturers are motivated.
The enforcement of IPPIS and the desperate efforts to reject the most efficient UTAS is an attempt to
undermine the autonomy of public universities in Nigeria. If that should succeed, other means will be
devised to equally undermine the autonomy of state universities. Any move that will compromise
academic freedom, which is vital to the survival of the university, must be resisted.
On the Visitation Panel, Plateau State University, like all other state universities need the checks that
ensure quality university education. The last visitation panel in PLASU was over eight years ago.
It is a fact that the Visitor to the Plateau State University has received commendations from the People of
the State for reversing such demoralizing policies, like the “no work no pay”. It is obvious that those who
offered this suggestion to him at the twilight of his administration are not only misleading the public but
destroying a legacy that was set by his administration.
Instead of adopting this measure that will only worsen the situation, the Congress is offering a piece of
wise and better advice to the Visitor. He can use whatever position he has in the government to support
the demands of ASUU and insist that the Federal Government implements the agreement reached with
the union. This will be a better way to be remembered.
It is therefore not only necessary but reasonable to work with the union that has over the years, (long
before the establishment of PLASU) sustained and kept the Nigerian university education from
deterioration like the public primary and secondary schools in the country. The Congress, therefore is unaminiously committed to the struggle .

At a sitting presided over by the Leader of the Council and Councilor representing Pishe–Yashi Ward, Hon. Maina Nanzing, on Tuesday 13th September, 2022 the  Legislative Council voted to ouster the erstwhile chairman.

Shortly after role call by the leader of the house, the Councilor representing Jat Ward, Hon. Dashe Yarnap moved a motion for the impeachment of the erstwhile Council Chairman, Bitrus Rimven Zulfa, and was seconded by the Deputy Leader and councilor representing Pajat Ward, Hon. Dindam Longbap Wuyep, after which the leader of the Council, Hon Nanzing Maina, moved for the swearing in of the Deputy Chairperson of the council Hon. Nancy Philemon Paul as the substantive Chairperson of the council with immediate effect.

According to the Deputy Leader, the ousted Chairman, Hon. Bitrus Rimven Zulfa, who was served with an impeachment notice on the 31st August, 2022 failed to respond to the allegations contained therein, so as to clear himself of the allegations against him.

Among the allegations against the former Chairman included siphoning of over Three Hundred Million Naira (300,000,000) from the local government coffers, using a staff of the local government, by name Samuel Malo Magit to perpetuate the evil act.

h

According to members of the Legislative arm, there was a meeting held in Government House, Jos at the instance of some government officials, among which were Secretary to the Government of Plateau state, Professor Danladi Attu, State Head of Service Sunday Hyat, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sylvanus Tapgun, Commissioner for Housing Hon. Brain Dadi, Chief of Staff Government House, Noel Donjur, critical stakeholders as well as the impeachi Chairman of Langtang North with the eighteen Councilors of the area.

The aim of the meeting with the critical stakeholders of the party was to intervene in the lingering crisis between the council Chairman and the Councilors, unfortunately the sitting ended in a deadlock.

However, the ousted Chairman said he would have replied the letter sent to him, but he did not want to expose the complicity of the state  Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs for some reasons.

hDuring the day sitting, fourteen out of Eighteen councillors appended their signatures to put paid to the impeachment process.ttps://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/ads?client=ca-pub-3959353501888451&output=html&h=300&adk=2718938247&adf=1165250286&pi=t.aa~a.2415524782~i.22~rp.4&w=360&lmt=1663061157&num_ads=1&rafmt=1&armr=3&sem=mc&pwprc=8247736331&psa=1&ad_type=text_image&format=360×300&url=https%3A%2F%2Ftheagenewspaper.blogspot.com%2F2022%2F09%2Fbreaking-langtang-north-council.html%3Fm%3D1&host=ca-host-pub-1556223355139109&fwr=1&pra=3&rh=274&rw=328&rpe=1&resp_fmts=3&sfro=1&wgl=1&fa=27&adsid=ChEI8NSAmQYQmaH29vu27M2IARI9AICZG6ef0lAlp225sw9IKYh63xfOOcVb8Ik_-i6MH-WHgy9GwucNSpSUtMsMsCP63ZiDDGvCnRPgmYrFpA&uach=WyJBbmRyb2lkIiwiMTEuMC4wIiwiIiwiMjIwMzMzUUFHIiwiOTcuMC40NjkyLjk4IixbXSx0cnVlLG51bGwsIiIsW10sZmFsc2Vd&dt=1663061430433&bpp=12&bdt=4287&idt=13&shv=r20220908&mjsv=m202209070101&ptt=9&saldr=aa&abxe=1&prev_fmts=0x0%2C360x300%2C360x300&nras=4&correlator=1650801627625&rume=1&frm=20&pv=1&ga_vid=1100395448.1663061430&ga_sid=1663061430&ga_hid=891631809&ga_fc=0&u_tz=60&u_his=1&u_h=825&u_w=360&u_ah=825&u_aw=360&u_cd=24&u_sd=2&dmc=4&adx=0&ady=2943&biw=360&bih=697&scr_x=0&scr_y=0&eid=44759876%2C44759927%2C44759837%2C42531705%2C44773613%2C44771548%2C31061691%2C31061692%2C31068921&oid=2&pvsid=2162967101323988&tmod=764686163&uas=0&nvt=1&eae=0&fc=1408&brdim=0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C360%2C0%2C360%2C697%2C360%2C697&vis=1&rsz=%7C%7Cs%7C&abl=NS&fu=128&bc=31&ifi=4&uci=a!4&btvi=3&fsb=1&xpc=kS7LObClnN&p=https%3A//theagenewspaper.blogspot.com&dtd=178

Power Comes from God, Not Worried by Tribunal Judgement..Hon Agah

Sunday Adam Jos

Member Representing Jos North Bassa Federal Constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives Abuja Hon. Musa Avia Agah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described his mandate as a divine Mandate that can’t be taken away by the tribunal, but only by God himself.

It would be recalled that on 2nd September 2022 the National and States Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Jos High Court had nullified the election of Hon. Musa Avia Agah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) declared the candidate of the PRP Alhaji Mohammed Goni as the winner.

In its ruling, the tribunal led by Justice Hope Ozoh held that Hon. Agah was not validly nominated by the PDP for the Bye-Election conducted on February 26, 2022, which declared him the winner.

But Hon. Musa Agah while reacting to the decision of the court said that his mandate is a divine one and can only be taken away by God.

Speaking to journalists in Jos on Monday about the Tribunal Judgement that favoured the PRP Candidate, Agah stated that he has already appealed the judgement, and expressed confidence that since it is a God divine Mandate, he will be victorious at the Appealed Court.

Agah faulted the judgment and said the matter is already before the Appeal Court.

The lawmaker encourages his constituents not to panic, stating that his mandate remains intact having appealed against the judgement.

He assured them of determination and commitment to deliver dividends of democracy as their representative.

“Within the short time I have been in the National Assembly, I have sponsored two bills. A bill to upgrade the Cottage Hospital in Bassa to Federal Medical Centre and a bill to upgrade Relevant Technology Centre to Federal College of Education Technical.

“Already, one of the bills has passed second reading and I am optimistic that both of them will sail through,” he said.

The lawmaker further assured the people that he would continue to do his best within his strength and resources to give them effective representation in the Green Chamber

He however debunks insinuations in some quarters that he has abandoned his Constituents since his assumption as a representative of the people

Adding that at no point in time did he abandon his constituents since they were the ones that elected him, “my election as a Lawmaker is the handiwork of my constituency so why should l deny them and refuse to pick their calls”. he started.

Labour Party Get Boost As Support Group Inaugurated in Plateau state

Sunday Adam

The Peter Obi/ Ahmed Yusuf Datti joint presidential ticket and the Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum Plateau State Governorship candidature as well as the Labour Party in Plateau State has gotten a big boost with the commissioning of the Wazobia Youth Movement for Obi/ Datti/ Dakum 2023 campaign office at No. 5 Zaria Bye Pass, close to former Jamil Motor and G.U.O Motors Park, Jos the Plateau State Capital on Friday 9th September, 2022 in a carnival like celebration.

While commissioning the office Comrade Mike Audu, the Deputy Chairman of the LP in Plateau State on behalf of the Plateau State Chairperson, Grace Zamfara dedicated the office to the Glory of God and for the use of mankind.

He praised the Wazobia Youths Movement for Obi/ Datti/ Dakum/ Zi / Asama for their courage, doggedness, zealousness and vision for believing in not just the LP, but in the candidature of Obi/ Datti/ Dakum/ Zi / Asama to lift Nigerians out of poverty, insecurity and economic woes.

The Deputy Chairman of the LP ,who ably represented the State Chairperson, Grace Zamfara posited that if a LP Support Group will rent and open an office without the help of the party, it shows total commitment and the zeal to rescue Nigeria from the clutches of underdevelopment, backwardness and unproductiveness.

Comrade Mike Audu encouraged WAZOBIA Group to be in the forefront of campaigning for Obi/ Datti/ Dakum/ Zi / Asama and indeed all LP candidates from top to bottom wherever they are.

Speaking on the structure of the LP, the Deputy Chairman insists that the party has a formidable structure of men and women of conscience, the organized Labour and Nigerians of goodwill who are all over the place donating themselves for the use of the party, their hard earned resources and their intellect for the success of LP in 2023 and beyond.

On the 2 million man march for Obi/ Datti/ Dakum/ Zi / Asama and others the Deputy Chairman of LP said he guarantees LP that people will massively come out, which in turn, will translate to winning votes in 2023 General Elections since Peter Obi is a movement which can also be described as Tsunami and the movement is now bigger than Peter Obi who cannot himself, stop the movement since nobody can threaten the movement.

In his welcome address comrade Jesse Sunday Okonkwo, the Plateau State Co-ordinator of the WAZOBIA Youths Movement for Obi/ Datti/ Dakum/ Zi / Asama eulogised Grace Zamfara, the LP Chairperson of Plateau State for the wonderful job she is doing to galvanize the structure of the LP Presidential/Vice Presidential, Governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives and the House of Assembly Candidates to win the 2023 General Elections in Plateau State.

Okonkwo elaborated that it is the systemic failure of the two major political parties, the APC and the PDP that gave rise to the LP and its total acceptance by the low and mighty.

He enumerated the failures of the PDP and APC in the areas of education with constant strike actions by ASSU, NASU, others, insecurity, high cost of food items, increase in fuel, crash of the Naira to the Dollar, ethnicity and religious bias, corruption etc hence WAZOBIA will mobilize Youths in the country to vote for LP Candidates in the 2023 General Elections.

The vibrant Coordinator hinted that the LP if elected will run a peopled centred government that will be beneficial to all and sundry.

Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum, the Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Candidate, the Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Human Virology, Abuja Nigeria and the Leaders of the consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023 Team, who was properly and ably represented by Chief Amb Nanyah Andrew Daman (JP) anipr, the Director of Media of the Dakum Consolidation for Greater Plateau Team appreciated the WAZOBIA Group for the wonderful initiative to unite the Yorubas, the Igbos, the Hausas and all Nationalities in Nigeria with the sole aim of working and mobilising the youths for the actualisation of the Peter Obi/ Ahmed Yusuf Datti/ Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum/ Gyang Zi/ Daniel Asama candidatures and all other LP candidates in Plateau State to win the 2023 General Elections.

Dakum urged the youths to ensure they collect their PVCs, massively go out on Election days, vote for the LP from top to bottom, wait and defend their votes until the party is announced victorious in the 2023 General Elections days and not by playing football while their future is being decided at polling units.

Speaking on money politics and vote buying, Dakum urged the Youths to reject money for votes before, during and after elections so as not to trade the future for peanuts.

The representative of Dr Dakum reeled out the achievements of Dr Dakum to include the building of the Headquarters of the Institute of Human Virology Abuja from foundation to finishing, building of IHVN branches in 26 States of the federation, employment of thousands of youths, with over 750 from Plateau State, mentorship of thousands of youths, women and men, being a Sunday School teacher, a development expert, an international scholar, a family doctor with his popular radio programs, home front, a God fearing man and a humane personality amongst many others.

Hon Chief Aloysius Ibe, the Plateau State LP Financial Secretary in his contribution hinted that the LP is not new in Plateau State because Former Executive Governor of the State, Sen Joshua Chibi Dariye , was elected Senator under the LP when the PDP refused him ticket. He continued that Hon Pauline Tallen, the former Deputy Governor of Plateau State also contested for Governorship under the LP in the past, hence the party has structure and is well known in Plateau State.

Ibe declared that the two major political parties, the APC and PDP have disappointed Nigerians hence the acceptability and rush to the LP to redeem the country from the clutches of destruction and hopelessness.

Ibe said the cost of goods and services have skyrocketed beyond the reach of the common man. He gave examples with local rice which used to be N200 is now N1000 per mudu, beans is now N800 per mudu, motor parts, fuel, cost of living, house rent and provisions have all now become out of the reach of the common man.

The Plateau State LP Financial Secretary urged Nigerians to vote Peter Obi and LP candidates because they are credible, visionary and sympathetic to the masses forgetting sentiments of religion, ethnicity or class.
He said the LP is united in Plateau State with Dr Patrick Dakum as its Governorship candidate, Barr Gyang Zi as its Plateau North Senatorial Candidate and Hon Daniel Asama as its Jos North/ Bassa House of Representatives Candidate.

Hon Ibe advised voters to check the ballot paper and vote for LP, Papa, Mama and Pikin at the Presidential and National Assembly on February 24th, 2023 and repeat same on march, 11th 2023 at the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.
Ibe confirmed that if Peter Obi emerges at the first ballot, there will be a bandwagon effect in all the other elections, thus, all LP supporters must come out enmasse to vote for LP.
He concluded that if the APC in 2014 had no offices unlike the LP that now have offices in every nook and cranny of Nigeria, the LP will surely sweep all seats in the federation.
He advised that Nigerians must make a good change as our Labor shall not be in vain.

Alh Yakubu Ibrahim, the Wazobia Chairman of Sarkin Arab Ward of Jos North LGA in his remarks, pointed out that Wazobia has united Nigeria thus, they are totally obidient because they are tired of working for the ruling party without any reward. He said they are tired of pushing a vehicle and when it starts, they are left behind.

Yakubu Ibrahim confirmed the good works Peter Obi did in Anambra State and feels he will do better for Nigeria with abundant resources at his disposal.
He said they are supporting the LP not for religious or ethnic sentiment but for the unity and betterment of Nigeria.

Personalities present at the commissioning and inauguration of the WAZOBIA Executive Council members were Chief Anisiobi Onyeka, Youth Leader, Okwuchkwu Onucha, Coach Amos Dangs, Musa Muhammed Ahmad, amongst many others.

Comrade Mike Audu the LP Deputy Chairman commissioned the WAZOBIA office with the assistance of dignitaries present after administering the oath of office to the WAZOBIA Executive Council members.

2023: I remain Authentic Labour Party governorship candidate in Plateau- Amb. Margi

Sunday Adam

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Plateau State, Amb. Yohanna Margif said he remained the authentic Labour Party Governorship candidate in Plateau State despite efforts by some individuals to hijack the ticket.

Amb. Margif disclosed this while briefing Journalists in Jos on Friday and said he will not allowed some desperate politicians to frustrate his chances of winning the 2023 election in Plateau.

“I spite of all shads of coloration, ill wish and manipulations from high and low places, I make bold to tell or remind you that I am the genuinely elected gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party in Plateau State.

“I must confess that all these plots and manipulations by desperate politicians have distracted me as I have to directly or indirectly go to the press to counter their mischievous and misleading information concerning Plateau Labour Party.

“I am making this address to assure and reassure you our teeming supporters that nothing has changed from what happened on the 9 June, 2022 at Retnan Suit Multi-purpose Hall Sabon Bariki Jos South during my Governorship primaries.”

He urged Plateau people to be conscious of rumour peddlers whose business is nothing but spreading the rumour for selfishly induced gains.

Margif explained that he has put behind him baseless, unfounded allegations and fake news with a view to forge ahead with his campaign to provide credible leadership to Plateau people.

“I wish to call on all my supporters and our dear party members, the Labour Party to keep calm and know that I am still the authentic Governorship candidate of Labour Party in Plateau State.

“I am vying for the office of the Governor of Plateau State because I want to bequeath good infrastructural legacy and return Plateau to the people.” He stated.

End

DAKUM IS THE LEGITIMATE PLATEAU STATE LABOUR PARTY CANDIDATE AS MARGIF IS NO LONGER A MEMBER OF THE LABOUR PARTY.

Sunday Adam

The Labour Party in Plateau State has Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum as it’s only legitimate Governorship candidate and nobody else.

Chairman of the party Grace Zamfara Stated this in a press Statement Said it became necessary to make this clarification becomes necessary due to the All Progressives Congress (APC) induced and crisis stocking candidate they are sponsoring to whittle the rising profile of the Labour Party in the State.

The Labour Party in Plateau State warns that anyone parading himself as the party’s candidate other than Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum, is not only an imposter, but a total fraud, whom the law will soon catch up with him.

It is on record that the former LP Governorship Candidate in Plateau State has since been replaced with Dr Patrick Sunday Dakum in a validly conducted replacement primaries in Jos and Dakum’s name sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as the authentic Plateau State Labour Party Governorship Candidate.

According to her the Labour Party in Plateau State wish to inform it’s teaming supporters and the well meaning general public in Plateau State that the former placeholder was disqualified and expelled from the party as a result of numerous petitions, court cases, EFCC investigations, issuance of dude cheques, police and security cases, unpaid hotel bills, fraud, inability to pay for nomination forms and administration charges as spelt out by the party, disregard for party rules and regulations, being a prisoner etc.

It is worthy of note that the LP which prides itself of Justice, fairness and credibility can not be seen to present an absentee and a fraudulent Governorship candidate,a person with dubious character who hardly fulfills promises made and a fetish individual.

We advise the former LP Governorship candidate to desist from conniving with the opposition political parties to derail the fortunes of the LP in Plateau State in particular and Nigeria in general or face the wrath of the law.

We are aware of the cheap political gimmick and the mudslinging antics of the opposition, using the former flagbearer to reduce the acceptability and popularity of Dr Patrick Dakum to get a political mileage, but the blackmail has fallen flat as this will not fly.Nigerians have totally rejected the APC and PDP, thus no tricks to dissuade lovers of the LP will work.

PDP Accuse APC Of Plot To Rig 2023 Elections in Plateau

Sunday Adam

The Peoples Democratic party’s attention has been drawn to a grevious fraudulent and criminal act planned by the Plateau State Government through Mahmoud Umar the Plateau State head of ICT of Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC ) who before now was in Benue State heading the Same office and was working directly under the APC Governorship Candidate Nentawe Yilwatda . We reliably gathered that Nentawe single handedly facilitated his redeployment to Jos to achieve his unpopular aspiration.

This fraudulent and misleading act is being coordinated by the office of the Secretary to the State Government of Plateau State by demanding permanent voters cards (PVC) from innocent, ignorant and desperate job seekers (electorates) in exchange of either employment or chicken change as the case may be. It is important to let the general public particularly those seeking for work and the Civil servants who have fallen victim of this nefarious act to know that there is no correlation between an applicant and even a worker and their PVCs as this only confirms that the apc government is hell bent on rigging the forthcoming elections since it is their only option and a well known stock in trade having lost legitimacy and relevance due to their dismal performance.

We are raising this alarm over this nefarious act being perpetrated by Mahmoud Umar INEC head of ICT (who supposedly is to be neutral) in conjunction with Plateau State Government to compromise the 2023 general election . We want to alert the Police and other relevant security agencies to arrest this situation by calling Mahmoud Umar to order as a means of forestalling a break down of law and order because people are more enlightened than he thinks and the people are ever ready to defend their constitutional rights.

Finally, we call on the electorates in the State to be weary of giving their details and/or their PVC’s to any individual, corporate or Plateau State government agency, because this is a sure way of mischievously being disenfranchised.

Your PVC is the only surest means of electing credible leaders at all levels and citizens should not trade their future to racketeers under any guise.

Re: Plateau 2023: Berom leaders settled for Barr. Mutfwang, PDP guber candidate

Sunday Adam

The attention of the National Executives of Berom Youth Moulders-Association-BYM has been drawn to unauthored publication circulating on social media that the BYM, BWEDA and BECO have endorsed the gubernatorial candidate in person of Barr. Caleb Mutfwam of the Peoples’ Democratic Party-PDP in the 2023 general elections.

Following the aforementioned publication, it becomes very compelling to unambiguously respond that, the Association through its President, Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri did not in any way, either expressly or by implication, endorse the Candidate of the PDP as such is prohibited by the Association’s Constitution, for the BYM is a pressure group which is non political and does not have such affiliation with any party or candidate.

To make the record straight, the Association through its President honoured the invitation extended to it by Be-Kanang of PDP to appreciate Barr. Caleb Mutfwam for picking Hon. Josephine Piyo who is one of the elites of Berom ethnic extraction to deputize the Gubernatorial candidate in the forthcoming general election. In the course of the event, BYM and other Berom bodies were accorded opportunity to present a goodwill message, which was done with no comment that could be accredited to an endorsement. It rather saluted Barr. Mutfwam for considering Berom nation by picking his running-mate therefrom.

It would be recalled that few weeks ago, the APC invited the Berom Cultural Organisations including BYM to the reception in honour of its Deputy governorship candidate, Hon. Pam Bot Mang; same with the PDP which held on Sunday, 28/08/2022.

As Representatives of Berom Youths, honouring such invitations does not in anyway amount to endorsement. Should attending such a gathering amounted to an endorsement, then Berom Youths Moulder-Association has endorsed all parties and candidates that had extended invitations to the Association.

As an Association, we shall provide equal opportunity and a platform for candidates to come and sale themselves and tell the Berom nation, particularly the youths what they will do for the people if elected.

After the event, the Congress will have the opportunity to ask the candidates questions to help them decide who can best protect their interest.

In view of aforementioned development, we call on our members to disregard the message stating that we have endorsed any candidate for the forthcoming Elections.

NSCDC Condemns Act of Personals

Sunday Adam

The attention of Plateau State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has been drawn to a publication in the media about an unfortunate and regrettable incident of assault on one Mrs. Joy Owolabi, a shop owner around the Nanmwa Junction of Abbatoire in Jos, Plateau State allegedly by a personnel of the Corps.

Worried by this unfortunate incident, the State Commandant, Alexander Bissa Barunde, who described the incident as barbaric, unfortunate, regrettable and uncivilised has since directed a full investigation into the matter to ascertain the real identity of the suspect.

The State Commandant assured the general public that, he would invoke internal disciplinary mechanism of the Corps to deal with the officer involved in this babaric act against a harmless and helpless woman.

He condemned the act and wondered why an officer of the Command will condescend to the point of inflicting bodily harm on a woman under any circumstances.

Barunde affirmed the Corps’ commitment to the protection of lives and property of the citizens, stating that this is just an isolated case of an overzealous officer and the matter would be pursued to a logical conclusion and the concerned officer brought to book.

While apologising to the family of the woman concerned, he assured that the matter would not be swept under the carpet but that, decisive action will be taken against the culprit as soon as the outcome of the investigation is made available to him and the culprit identified.

He warned that he will not condone any indiscipline from any officers of the Command and charged them to remain civil in approach while carrying out their lawful duties.

He cautioned his personnel to be professional and to respect the fundamental human rights of the citizens because henceforth, any report of human right abuse by any civilian will attract very stringent punishment.

Plateau South Constituents Set to recall Senator Daduut  for allege  neglect of constituents .

Sunday Adam

Pass vote of no confidence on  Senator Nora

Constituents from the six local government areas which made up plateau South in Plateau state operating under the umbrella of  Plateau South Youths United For

Democracy and Development  has threatened to initiate the recall of Senator Prof Nora Ladi Daduut  for allegedly neglecting the  people of the Senatorial district .

The group led by  Edward Bali on Monday  accused the senator of keeping mute amid the flooding and  insecurity in her  constituency as well as not participating in major activities of her party in the Zone .

While other Senators in Plateau  are  working hard to better the lives of citizens of their zones as well as empower his aides ,our own Senator Nora Daduut is busy sacking her aides making them  poverty-stricken .

The group claimed that instead of investing her legislative resources and privileges to deepen the legislative process and uplifting the conditions of her  constituents and aides ,she  is rather just empowering her immediate  family .

We challenge Senator Nora Daduut to publish the names of constituents she has so far lobbied employments for and you would discover that they are all members of their immediate families .

Bali in a statement said  that   consultation had been concluded to begin the process of recalling Prof Nora Ladi Daduut from the senate.

The statement reads that since our Senator Nora Daduut lost out and knows she is not returning as Senator ,she has all of a sudden   become a fugitive senator.

She has abandoned her duties as Senator and recently sacked almost all her aides just because she is not seeking re election .

There has been flooding and insecurity in some communites in Plateau South  like in Langtang South , Quaanpan,Mikang ,Wase and our Senator has been silent about it all because she is not returning back to the Senate .

“With over 7 months to go , our Senator recently  sacked all her political appointees from across the entire southern zone for no just no reason other than her quest to keep their allowance to her self  alone.”

” This singular act to me is pure wickedness, greed and selfishness towards our great party at this critical period.”

Prof Nora Daduut has done more  harm to the APC as a results of her actions of not carrying her constituents along and we hereby say ,she has failed in her legislative duties .

“Our people cannot breathe anymore, how can a woman who the people supported and vote massively treat her constituents’ especially her aides this way “.

“Clearly, she sacked  staff  of hers so that there can be more funds available to her alone while these Staff and their respective families languish. “

Our Senator since assumption of office has no single projects in Langtang North ,Langtang South  and Wase  local government as she has  projects just in her local government council Quanpan .

“To her  satisfaction, she  has maintained a vivacious silence since she discovered she is not seeking re-election  , her absence and silence of late is  is disturbing , for this we have passed a vote of no confidence on Senator Daduut .

“Prof Nora Daduut  has committed many sins against the people of Plateau South the way she treats her aides  is so poor  ,” the group added .  “

They argued that  Prof Nora,s conduct and performance so far are at variance with the yearnings and aspirations of constituents, who have nothing to show for her  representation .

“By sacking most of her aides  and providing poor legislation ,all because she is not seeking  re-election ,our  senator has caused more damage to the APC   and her  actions have harmed our collective interest as a senatorial district.  they added .

Efforts to reach  Senator Nora Daduut was abortive ,however an Ex  aide of the Senator who  was  one of the sacked Liaison  Officer confirmed that the Senator has sacked most of her aides without giving excuses .

THE JOS NORTH/BASSA JUDGEMENT AT THE ELECTION TRIBUNAL HAS NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER ON 2023 PDP CANDIDATES

Sunday Adam

The Legal Team of the Peoples Democratic Party, Plateau State Chapter has observed that opponents and some mischief makers are peddling the falsehood that PDP and its candidates may not be on the ballot for the 2023 general elections as a fallout of the recent Tribunal decision delivered on Friday, 2nd September, 2022 in respect of the Jos North/Bassa House of Representatives bye-election.

We hasten to clarify that the decision of the Election Tribunal relates only to the primaries conducted for the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency bye-election which the tribunal erroneously nullified by relying on the Justice Kunda judgment which purported to  justify the unprecedented exclusion of PDP  from participating in the 2021 Local Government Council elections. Please note that the Justice Kunda Judgment is now on Appeal before the Supreme Court.

We wish to state without doubt or equivocation that even though the judgment of the Election Tribunal is being appealed with very meritorious Grounds of Appeal, it has no bearing whatsoever on the nomination and qualification of candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party Plateau State for the 2023 governorship and legislative assembly elections.

It is pertinent to enlighten PDP members, its teeming supporters and the voting public of the following facts:

1.  The primaries that produced Hon. Musa Agah as the PDP Candidate was conducted under the 2010 Electoral Act while the primaries that produced candidates for the 2023 elections was conducted under the 2022 Electoral Act.

2.  The 2022 Electoral Act excluded ALL statutory delegates i.e. mainly EXCO members of any party from being delegates during the Congresses that produced candidates for the 2023 elections.

3.  The Chris Hassan led EXCO which is mischievously rumoured to be illegal, emerged through a democratic and transparent process, and there are no known legal impediments (except self-serving extrapolations by merchants of fortune) hindering them from performing their constitutional duties.

4.  The PDP and its Legal Team have always been proactive and had envisaged the possibility of using underhand tactics to stop the obviously preferred PDP candidates from winning the 2023 elections, and took steps to forestall such. Knowing the capacity of the opponents of the PDP for mischief, impunity and deliberate mis-information, the National Secretariat of the party pleaded with the Chris Hassan EXCO to step aside for the period of the Congresses and allow a Local Organising Committee it constituted to oversee the process.

5.  The congress which produced the ad hoc delegates of the PDP during the Ward Congresses (unlike the other party which did not conduct any congress to elect delegates) were duly organised and supervised by the Ward Congress Committee appointed by the National Secretariat of the party and went smoothly in over 95% of the Wards. The few complaints that arose from the Ward Congresses have been largely resolved through the Party’s robust dispute resolution mechanism.

6.  The 2022 Electoral Act, PDP Constitution and Guidelines for the Congresses clearly indicate the time allowed for appeals as well as those entitled to file such appeals. It is gratifying and re-assuring to note that since Governorship primaries were concluded in May, 2022, there has NOT been a single administrative or legal complaint by any of the noble aspirants who contested with the candidate of the party Barr. Caleb Mutfwang.

7.  The Election Tribunal did not make any pronouncement as to the status and legitimacy of the State leadership of the Party as presently constituted as being mischievously circulated.

The Party has taken a decision to file an appeal against the judgment to remedy the monumental travesty of justice, and we believe that the Court of Appeal will do a better job than what the Tribunal came up with. We trust that the judgment of the Tribunal will be set aside with victory restored to PDP.

We therefore call upon the electorate and Party faithfuls to remain calm.

BREAKING: Court frees former Plateau governor, Jonah Jang of N6.3bn fraud allegation

Sunday Adam

A Jos High Court has discharged and acquitted a former Governor of Plateau State, Sen. Jonah Jang, of alleged misappropriation of the sum of N6.3 billion belonging to the state.

The court on Friday, September 2, 2022, also discharged a former cashier in the office of the Secretary to the Plateau State Government, Mr Yusuf Pam.

Recall, Jang and Pan were first arraigned in June 2018 by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on a 17-count charge bordering on misappropriation of funds, criminal breach of trust, and corrupt advantages.

The anti-graft agency alleged that the offence contravened the provisions of sections 315, 309, 19, and 22(5) of the Penal Code Law and Corrupt Practices Act 2004, (as amended).

Jang and Pam had however denied the allegations.

This development is coming days after former Governors of Plateau and Taraba states, Senator Joshua Dariye, and Jolly Nyame who were jailed for multi-billion naira loot were released from Kuje correctional facility in Abuja.

This was three months after they had been pardoned by the Council of State led by the President, Muhammadu Buhari, on April 14, 2022.

Also released were three other inmates from Suleja Custodial Centre in Niger State.

Nyame was to serve a 12-year jail sentence for diverting N1.64 billion during his tenure as governor of Taraba, while Dariye was serving 10 years’ imprisonment for N1.126 billion fraud.

Governor Lalong Hates Berom Tribe..BYM

THE RESPONSE OF BEROM YOUTH MOULDERS-ASSOCIATION, BYM TO THE PLATEAU STATE GOVERNOR, HIS EXCELLENCY, BARRISTER SIMON BAKO LALONG ON THE INTERVIEW GRANTED TO TRUST TELEVISION.

Fellow Plateau Youths and the peace-loving people of Plateau State worldwide, ordinarily, we would have waived off the temptation to respond to misleading and provocative statements made by His Excellency, Governor Simon Bako Lalong on June 15th, 2022 when he was hosted by Mannir Dan Ali on Trust TV’s “Thirty Minutes” which is in the public domain. When a father says a lie against his child in public out of excitement, the child is left with no choice than to clear his name publicly, less, the lies said against him will be taken for the truth. After listening to the governor’s interview, we wonder what he intends to achieve through blackmailing the peace loving and hospitable Berom people.

Our response to the governor’s interview is on two premises:

The first is the magnitude of the falsehood, careless, misguided, and insensitive direct attack on the Berom nation and the potential it has to dent and cast aspersions on the well-earned integrity, respect, and peaceful disposition of our people which is evident in the hospitable and accommodating nature in Jos, Plateau State since before the colonial era. Thus, we find it necessary to respond to His Excellency, Governor Lalong because neutral and uninformed Nigerians who might have not visited Jos, social media users and members of the public may believe the lies said against the Berom nation.

The second reason is the potential of Governor Lalong’s statement to ignite or rather awaken a dangerous, irreversible, and irreconcilable tribal and sectional consciousness, tension and eventual division of our beautiful Plateau along tribal lines.

OUR CONCERNS
Our primary concerns with the whole interview are,

  1. The manner in which His Excellency, Governor Lalong diverted from responding to the issue of why there are still issues of attacks in Plateau State despite achieving peace by his administration to reduce the insecurity that was and is still being experienced in the State to ” the Berom and Fulanis being at war. Talking about the Berom and the Fulanis at war, may we ask His Excellency if late night attacks on our people in their sleep and attacks on their farms can be termed as “serious war”? Does the Governor even understand the term war? Also, does it mean that the Governor does not have the records of attacks in some parts of Bokkos, Kadarko, Mangu and Bassa before his coming in as governor? This looks to us suspicious and fishy, signalling that there is more to it than meets the eye.
  2. Secondly, the governor publicly saying the Berom people did not vote him because of his affiliation with the Hausa/Fulani Community is preaching hatred and discrimination against the Berom people. We even wonder why the case of an election in 2015 involving the governor and the late Senator GNS Pwajok be a subject of discussion to Governor Lalong in 2022.
  3. When asked on whether it should be a Muslim-Muslim ticket or Muslim-Christrian ticket, the governor said there is a tradition in politics of inclusiveness and fairness and he has seen it work in Plateau state where he comes from as it was what he used to achieve peace in the state.
Is the present situation on ground not an irony as he is the Director General of a Muslim-Muslim ticket? Where is the culture of inclusiveness he talked about during the interview in the selection of the Vice Presidential candidate of the party?
  4. According to the Governor, if someone request for a hundred and you give him, he will request for a hundred and one, is he still ready to give the one still in the interest of peace? Should we say this is a confirmation of the allegation that the Governor is trading our Heritage for the so-called relative peace?
  5. Talking about tolerance, we are forced to ask the Governor, what does he mean by tolerance in the context of the crisis in the state? He said before he came on board, it is difficult to pass through Jos wearing same cloth without changing. Can the governor confirm this with facts?
  6. His statement suggested that as the then Member of the House of Assembly, and the present Governor he never knew and doesn’t know what caused the Yelwa Shendam crisis, yet he came up with a solution which he applied to the Plateau crisis which he inherited.
  7. The governor tried to indict the past regime when he said a governor was talking about his tribe and religion. The governor should come out to say the past regime he is referring to.
  8. If the Governor said the crisis was between the Berom people and the Fulanis because the past regime was talking about his tribe and religion, the crisis has escalated to Wase, Kanam, Langtang North, Bassa, Bokkos, Mangu, Yelwa Zangam in Jos North and Jos East, whose utterances are responsible for those attacks?

If anyone should complain about not enjoying support during the tenure of Governor Lalong, it is the Berom. This is because:

  1. It is under his watch as Governor that in June 2018, over 500 persons were killed in some parts of Gashish, Ropp and Bachi districts with thousands rendered homeless in over thirty villages with the government doing little or nothing.
  2. When the Vice President visited the state, He promised a Mobile Police Squadron in Gashish and N10Billion to resettle the Internally Displaced Persons, till today nothing has been done. Yet the governor is said to have visited the President severally to lobby for interventions including the Mobile Police Squadron which has been diverted it to his Local Government Area, Shendam.
If permitted to think aloud, we will say maybe this is because the Berom people do not matter to him.
  3. It is sad that the Governor had picked our people from IDP camps and dumped them in schools within their communities in the name of resettlement without building even a room to accommodate at least, a family. This year, when some of the displaced Persons in Rantis Village of Gashish District attempted to rebuild their community through self help, they were attacked and three Persons were killed, yet there was no word from the Governor who brought inclusiveness as a way of settling the “war” between the Berom and the Fulanis.
Also, the villages that our people were sacked are today under forceful occupation by the invaders with nothing done to address it from Governor Lalong. Is the justice from our Governor selective?
  4. Talking about the 2015 Elections, the Lalong won the Elections with 537,050 against 501, 938 votes scored by late GNS Pwajok. The margin between them is 35,112 votes after securing 52,164 from Barkin Ladi, Riyom and Jos South Local Government Areas that are dominated by the Beroms. This is excluding part of Jos North that is also for the Beroms. The figure is against 40,464 votes that the Governor secured in Shendam Local Government Area where he hails from. How then can the governor say the Berom people did not vote for him?

To this end, the interview has only revealed the continuous attempt to set the world against the Berom nation, as governor Lalong lied that the Berom people refused to vote for him because he is too attached to Hausa Fulani people. If we may ask, is there a tribe call the Hausa/Fulani in Nigeria? It is either Hausa or Fulani. If the past regime that governor Lalong had accused of talking about his tribe and religion thereby fanning the insecurity in Plateau State is former governor Jonah Jang who is also Berom, permit us to ask the tribes Local Government Area of the present Minister of Women Affairs, DG ITF, PLASIEC Chairman, the Resident Electoral Commissioner Representative for Plateau, Deputy National Secretary of the APC among many others? This is for a tribe that can be found in only two Local Government Areas as against Jang’s tribe that occupies four Local Government Areas out of the 17 Local Government Areas of Plateau State.

One wonders why a governor who is a lawyer keeps rubbishing our traditional council by acting contrary to court orders of maintaining status quo.

As a people, the Beroms have remained peace loving and hospitable in the midst of provocations and attacks by those the Nigerian government once told us are foreigners but have surrendered our land to them.

However, it is important for the governor to know that such consistent blackmails, vilifications and provocations against the peace loving and hospitable Berom nation, will never take away the natural virtues of peaceful coexistence and hospitality of the Berom people to all and sundry irrespective of religious and ethnic divide.

Above all, the Berom people shall continue to be peaceful and hospitable because that’s their inherent trademark which they are known for.

NCPC Arrest Guarantor of Pilgrim who Absconded

Sunday Adam

The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, NCPC had vowed not to spear any pilgrim who absconds during Pilgrimage and to hold their guarantors liable.
The Commission is committed to achieving zero abscondment of pilgrims during Pilgrimage, a feat which was achieved last year during its maiden pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Jordan.
Consequently, the Commission has marched words with action as it had secured the arrest of a guarantor, Mr Chidi Ogbuehi with the assistance of the law enforcement agents . His brother, Solomon Ogbuehi absconded during Pilgrimage in July, 2022 through the Lagos State contingent to Israel .
It is instructive to state that the Commission in its Pilgrim form which every intending pilgrim must fill before undergoing screening exercise conducted by the Commission, makes provision where a guarantor must attest to the character of the intending pilgrim and specify in writing and duly signed that he or she would take full responsibility in the event that the Pilgrim absconds in the Holy land.
Mr Chidi Ogbuehi, who claimed to be an official of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN and a Lecturer with Anchor University, Ipaja, Lagos was arrested by the law enforcement agents on 1st August, 2022,for aiding his brother, Solomon Ogbuehi to abscond in Israel during Pilgrimage exercise, having committed himself by attestation and by accepting full responsibility.
Mr Solomon Ogbuehi, the abscondee, traveled to Israel as a self – sponsored Pilgrim with the Lagos State contingent and claimed to be an Evangelist with Mounting of Fire and Miracles Ministry, MFM.
On the expiration of his Pilgrimage exercise, Mr Solomon Ogbuehi could not return to the country having absconded in Israel. His guarantor, Mr Chidi Ogbuehi failed to produce him based on the fact that he was the one who guaranteed him and promised to be held responsible for the pilgrim,s action.
NCPC will leave no stone unturned to make sure that Mr Chidi Ogbuehi pays for aiding his brother to abscond during Pilgrimage, except he produces him as this would serve as a deterrent to other would-be guarantors and potential abscondees.

PDP crisis: Ayu to go, Wike’s camp to produce replacement from S/West

PDP crisis: Ayu to go, Wike’s camp to produce replacement from S/West

… To support Atiku’s campaign, provide logistics

The Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, is under immense pressure from his loyalists following reports that he has yielded to the demand by Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, for the removal of the PDP National Chairman, Iyiochia Ayu.

It was gathered in Abuja, on Friday, that a number of agreements were arrived at after the face to face meeting between Atiku and Wike in London. Part of the agreement, it was learnt, was that Ayu should be given a dignified exit and accommodated in the new PDP government when it is formed.

The Wike Camp equally extracted a commitment from Atiku to be allowed to produce Ayu’s replacement and that the person should be from the South West Zone.

It is however unclear if Atiku yielded to the demand by Wike’s camp to serve for a single term to allow for power to shift to the south to assuage feeling of betrayal of southerners.

The Wike camp which outnumbered the Atiku camp two to one at the London meeting was also able to extract a commitment from the PDP candidate to produce the Senate President and some Principal officers of the National Assembly.

In return, the Wike camp agreed to play a pivotal role in marketing the Atiku/ Okowa ticket and providing logistics for the general campaign.

A source familiar with the development who confided in Saturday Vanguard, said, “ It was also agreed that media hostilities should cease and this was largely responsible for the statement Atiku caused his Media Office to issue on Thursday.

“Atiku was left with little room to negotiate, he was outnumbered and the open solicitation by the candidates of the Labour Party and the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Peter Obi and Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu did not help matters.”

APC Warns PDP Against Causing Disunity in Plateau

The People’s Democratic party has been warned against causing disunity among the various tribal groups in plateau state

The Director General of the All progressives Congress Candidate for the Plateau Central Senatorial Campaign Mr Benshak Dalop gave the warning in an interview with newsmen in Jos .

Mr Dalop stated that the People’s Democratic party having realised that it lacks sufficient visibility to win the forthcoming senatorial election in the central zone has resorted to Profiling the APC in bad light.

Mr Dalop who was a two term member of the Plateau state House of Assembly remarked that the ordinary voter is politically conscious and wise now to decipher rhetorics and realities adding that the PDP is fighting a lost battle at all stages of the ballot come 2023.

He advised Politicians to stop amplifying our fault lines and think of proffering solutions to the country’s daunting challenges.

The Director General commended the people of the central zone for keeping faith in the party and the massive support they are showing to the APC senatorial candidate Mr Diket Plang and Doctor Nentawe the governorship flag bearer in the state.

The Gubernatorial Candidate of the labour party Dr. Patrick Dakum has assured party faithfuls of his  candidature as the rightful Candidate for the Governorship of Plateau State under the platform of Labour Party.

He made this  today while interacting with journalist and members of his consolidation for greater Plateau team from across the 17 Local Governments of the State.

He said the parley was aimed at briefing  them of recent development in the Consolidation for Greater Plateau movement and to also get their input.

While setting the record straight during the parley which took place at his residence in Jos, Dakum said contrary to speculations, his certificate of return as Labour Party Governorship Candidate is not fake and was issued from the party’s national Secretariat, duly signed by the party leaders at the national Secretariat.

He narrated that the two signatures on his certificate of return are that of the National Party Chairman and the National Secretary. And it was issued to him by the National Secretary at the party’s Secretariat in the presence of some national leaders of the party.

On the substitution of candidate offers, Dr. Dakum said when he withdrew his membership from his former political party, he registered with Labour Party after consultation with some critical stakeholders within his team.

“Subsequently, I was informed of the existence of a vacancy, based on a letter of withdrawal that have been accepted by the national party in which they showed me correspondence with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that they intend to fill the vacancies in several states and one of the positions they intend to fill is that of the governor which Plateau is among and if I’m interested.

“And I said of course, I was looking for a platform that we can continue to pursue our dream of consolidating on the gains of our heros past… and so I was availed the opportunity to get the nomination form, and the opportunity to participate on substitution primary and then subsequently I was presented with certificate of return” he added.

Former NULGE Chairman dismisses allegations of non-payment of salaries against Mutfwang

Sunday Adam

Former Chairman, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Comrade Alex Bitson has described the allegations of non payment of salaries against the Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Barr. Caleb Mutfwang while serving as Mangu Local Government Chairman as false, baseless and unfounded.

He described Mutfwang as the best Local Government Chairman who worked tirelessly to bring development to Mangu and provided the needed security that guaranteed safety of lives and properties.

Comrade Bitson in an interview with Journalists in Jos, refuted the claims made by one Mrs. Nanret Thompson who claimed to have abandoned her Local Government job for non payment of salaries and said Mutfwang was worker’s friendly chairman, and believed that he will prioritized payment of salary and welfare of Plateau citizens.

Bitson who spoke on behalf of other union leaders that served under Barr. Mutfwang as local government chairman, and expressed optimism that Mutfwang will work in the interest of Plateau State.

The former union leader described the allegations as false and unfounded and said that Mutfwang was one of the best Chairmen they worked with, who was worker’s friendly, and concerned about staff welfare.

He noted that their memory in Mangu Local Government Area is contrary to what some people are peddling out for obvious political reasons and urged Plateau citizens to disregard it.

“Hon. Caleb Mutfwang remains one of the best Chairmen Mangu ever had, who was worker’s friendly and had great plans for the workers aside his other developmental efforts. If not for the fact that his administration was interrupted after a short time in office, we trusted his methods and we are looking forward to better days in the locality.

“He had already started demonstrating that by the payment of some outstanding entitlements of workers and allowances. He also ensured that all offices were properly furnished to make them befitting and conducive for workers to operate. To this day. Mangu has the best office furniture compared to other Local Governments in the State. This can be verified by anyone in doubt”.

Bitson who shed more light on the Mangu LGA salary controversy, explained that the problem was with the system and not Barr. Caleb Mutfwang or any other Chairman.

“Mangu LGA has one of the highest wage bills in the State because there are so many Primary School teachers in the payroll. In addition, Local Government Workers have always been owed salaries and are still being owed even now. We cannot just say the fault is the Chairmen.

“It is a systemic problem. And those are the problems we hope Hon. Caleb Mutfwang will come and address if given the opportunity, because he is someone who was a victim of the same faulty system which seeks to disable Local Government administration in Plateau State.”

Comrade Bitson admonished government workers to desist from smearing the image of respected personalities in the name of politics and further advised civil servants to avoid lying against government for whatever personal gains.

“Presently, both State and Local Government workers in Plateau State are being owed salaries for several months, it is a disturbing trend that should be stoped as soon as possible.” He stated.

YOUR APOLOGY HAS BEEN ACCEPTED” CATHOLIC ARCHBISHOP OF JOS TELLS GOVERNOR LALONG AS 19TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY KICKS OFF IN JOS.

Sunday Adam

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has reaffirmed his loyalty, commitment and faith in the Catholic Church as well as the desire to always be a good ambassador wherever he finds himself.

Governor Lalong was speaking at the 19th General Assembly of the Archdiocese of Jos held at the St. Louis Parish Jos with theme ‘‘The Eucharist our Strength Towards a Better Nigeria”.

Lalong who spoke about the importance of the Eucharist in his life said he continues to draw strength and inspiration from his relationship with God, as well as the teaching and upbringing he has received from the Catholic Church since childhood.

He therefore said the events of the past week relating to his utterance which generated controversy should not be used to judge his love, respect and loyalty to the Catholic Church which strongly teaches forgiveness, tolerance, compassion and repentance.

He said “When there is unity, love and continuity, we can do better and greater things for the Lord. May I appeal to my colleagues, my brothers and sisters in politics, to take a cue from the example displayed by the Catholic Church by closing ranks and seeing ourselves as God’s workers. That way, we can see Plateau State and Nigeria as God’s field and God’s building where we can all play our roles in fulfilling His purpose”.

Lalong also said his roots as a Catholic have shaped his thinking and enabled him to see governance as a duty to serve the people irrespective of their differences and affiliations. Love, justice, fairness and equity he said are his principal considerations at all times when decisions need to be taken, particularly difficult ones.

“We need this more than before in view of our elections coming up in 2023. I urge the Church to continue to pray for the success of the elections and also encourage the people to participate actively and peacefully. Staying away will only give room for the emergence of bad leaders that may not be suitable for the challenges of nation-building”.

He expressed the appreciation of his Government to the Archbishop and entire Catholic ArchDiocese of Jos for not only partnering with Government in several areas, but also offering encouragement, advices and prayers at all times.

Catholic Archbishop of Jos Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Ishaya Audu in his homily stressed the significance of the Eucharist which he said makes provision for Christians to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ and work towards sacrificial service as well as being honest, diligent and kind.

Speaking on the apology tendered to the Catholic Church by Governor Lalong, the Archbishop said, “Your apology is accepted. As you know from our President of the Catholic Bishops Conference, has already accepted your apology and so it goes for all of us. We have accepted it and let be sincere”.

He said since the Church encourages its members to go into politics, the intention is for him to work at making a difference in his political endeavour in line with the mandate of the church to its members who are in politics.

While assuring him that the church will not disgrace him or allow him to fail, Archbishop Audu asked the Governor to advise the ruling party on the need for unity, national integration and carrying all segments of the country along which is the major concern being expressed by Christians on the Choice of the President and Vice Presidential Candidate.

NOW THAT GOVERNOR LALONG HAS APOLOGIZED

Sunday Adam

The Social Media space is a harbinger of sorts. It is a double edged sword likened to the sword of Damocles, depending on the issues at stake and depending on the mind deploying it. Mindset here is key.

Progressives mindsets deploy it to build but retrogressive minds find it a fertile ground to promote their stock in trade: falsehood, misrepresentation and above all, hatred, which as they believe, amounts to heroism. Our values and attitudes have since been lost while deploying the use of the social media space.

Just recently, pundits took a swipe on His Excellency, the Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Simon Bako Lalong, a Papal Knight of Saint Gregory the Great (KSGG) and by the grace of God, the indefatigable Chairman, Northern Governor’s Forum and recently, Director General, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Team.

What was his sin? He accepted to head this Campaign Team against the wide uproar and resistance of the composition of the Tinubu/Shettima combination as President and Vice President was a
widely perceived as a deliberate attempt to shortchange Christians and Christianity thereby relegating it (Christianity) in the political life of the nation.

Although the rejection, criticism, fear, apprehension, anxiety, commendation and hullabaloo that greeted the Muslim Muslim ticket is quiet understandable going by the current state of the nation and the various attacks that have been visited on Christians by some criminals under the guise of religion, the matter has definitely been grabbed by people who are either not in APC nor sympathetic to it.

Even within the APC, Champions of Christians who worked for the emergence of Tinubu (knowing fully that he was a Muslim) as Presidential candidate against their fellow Christians including Pastors who also sought to be President, suddenly woke up from their slumber to be heros of Christianity organizing groups to kick against the seed they had planted, due to their selfish reasons.

It was in a bid to explain how he (Governor Lalong) emerged as Director General of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Team and his acceptance that generated so much heat calling for his head, likened to the Barabas of yore.

Explanations and counter explanations were advanced by the Governor himself, aides and people that meant well to no avail, the peak of which culminated in a strongly worded letter addressed to the Governor and signed by Rt. Hon. Dame Dr Esther Uduehi, National President, Association of Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria (APKMN).

Governor Simon Bako Lalong having realised that his innocent reference to the Holy Father has angered many Catholics decided to step back and reengage.

In his character, tendered and personally signed a letter of unreserved apology addressed to Archbishop Luclus Iwejuru UGORJI, Archbishop of Owerri and President, Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria, dated 12th August, 2022. That apology was widely circulated in the social media and is still trending.

Let me put it on record that this is not the first time that Governor Lalong has swallowed his words. This is the greatest mark of servant leadership and a great source of strength. We’ll done our leader.
There are great lessons to be learnt from your humble disposition.

Now that the Governor has tendered an unreserved apology I hereby submit as follows:
That pundits should temper justice with mercy by burying this matter and let us move forward.

That in brotherly love, the Association of Papal Knights and Medalists in Nigeria should find a place in their hearts to forgive the Governor as it is often said to err is human and to forgive is divine.

That the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria will wade into the matter both in Nigeria and in the Vatican.

That the entire body of Christ will see in Governor Lalong an uncommon leader and see in him a rallying point by constantly praying for him in his new assignment for the benefit of humanity and to the glory of God as ALL leadership is ordained by God, Romans 13:1-2.

Besides, the decisions by Nigerians to choose their leaders from the array of candidates and political parties is one that every eligible voter will make without intimidation or pressure. If some Christians think that Governor Lalong is wrong for accepting this role in a party he belongs and has done so much to build, the best they can do is to pray for him and allow God and posterity to judge him since he has conviction that his political decisions do not amount to sin against anyone or his creator.

Plateau State Government owns 2 Months not 6 As Speculated

The attention of the Head of Civil Service has been drawn to an online publication indicating that Plateau State Government is among the States owing Civil Servants up to six (6) months salary.

The alleged illegal and concocted primary election that brought together people who are selling groundnut, Kunu, Moimoi among others as delegates at the King’s Palace Hotel allegedly owned by the Former Governor of Plateau State Senator Joshua Dariye, is null and void, and cannot hold water.

It has become very expedient for me to place on record that my life is under threat as some politicians, particularly aspirants who contested the APC primary election and lost have being mounting pressure on me to withdraw from the race.

Governor Lalong Threaten To Recall Lawmakers who Oppose Reconstruction of Jos Main Market

Sunday Adam

Barr. Simon Lalong, the governor of Plateau State, has pledged to take the initiative in calling back National Assembly members who oppose Jaiz Bank’s plan to rebuild the burned-out Jos Main Market.
Lalong made this statement on Friday, August 5, 2022, during the laying of the foundation for the Workers Housing Estate, which was done at Zanwra Nkienwhiea in the Miango, Bassa Local Government of the State by the Nigerian Labour Congress and a commercial developer, Drallop Services Ltd.
“I promise you we will begin the recall procedure for lawmakers who oppose development in the state; that is the only way to checkmate our members,” I said, “because it is sad when you talk about development in your area it must not be your people because when they advertise for contracts at federal mortgage banks including plateau people will also apply who are doing business, you may not get the one for Plateau but they can give that of Katsina.”
As may be remembered, the Plateau State Member for Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos, obtained a court order at the Plateau State High Court prohibiting the Plateau State Government from signing an MOU with Jaiz Bank on the reconstruction of Jos Main Market.
The Injunction, which Hon. Justice S. P Gang issued on Tuesday, August 2, 2022, prohibits the Governor of Plateau State, the Plateau State Government, the Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Justice, Plateau State, from signing any MOU with Jaiz Bank while the substantive suit is still being heard.
The court order that was obtained by journalists in Jos states, “Court order upon the consideration of motion exparte date August 1, 2022 and filed August 2, 2022 supported by counsel written address praying the court for reliefs sought after hearing Tyang Jugu Esq for the applicant and 20 paragraph affidavit deposed by Hon. Dachung Musa Bagos.
Until the motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction is heard and decided, Justice Gang granted the following court order: “An order of this Honourable court for an interim injunction restraining the defendant/respondents by themselves, their agent’s representatives, or privies from entering into any Public Private Partnership or any agreement whatsoever regarding the Jos Main Market.”
But in response to a court decision and subsequent disputes, Governor Lalong called the planned rebuilding of the Jos Main Market superfluous and a detour orchestrated by politicians looking to score easy political points.
“Those who constructed the Jos Main Market were outsiders; they did not bring the market to that location, and when this kind sentiment is used in that way, some people will take it to mean that Jaiz Bank is a bank owned by the Fulani; as a result, we have given the Plateau and the Jos Main Market to the Fulani, which is evil.”
“When you see a member misleading the public, I was also the Speaker. Ask him this two or three years since we elected you what have you brought home for us. If he said nothing, you people have the opportunity for recall. In addition to impeachment, there is recall. I am the only person in Nigeria to have gone through recall because the President wanted me to impeach the Governor at the time, but I refused. As a result, the only option was to go through with the recall”.
The state’s citizenry has been urged by the governor not to believe political and media hype that the market will be taken over by an Islamic bank.

The Governor who was responding to recent controversies surrounding the planned rebuilding of the Jos Main Market which he described as unnecessary and a distraction orchestrated by politicians who want to score cheap political points.

The Governor Lalong made spoke while performing the foundation laying ceremony of two housing estates in Jos.

At the foundation laying and unveiling of the Palm Estate in Dwei, Du District of Jos South Local Government being developed by Odigbo Properties Ltd, Governor Lalong said the initiative was one of the benefits of restored peace and stability in Plateau State.

He commended the developer for choosing to come to Plateau State and provide housing for the citizens who are in need of houses due to the huge deficit in the sector.

He used the opportunity to speak on the issue of rebuilding the Jos Main market that has generated needless controversy and is being exploited for political reasons.

He said ” Let me make it abundantly clear that the Jos Main Market will forever remain the property of the Plateau State Government managed by the Jos Main Market Authority while the 40 year lease is for individuals that will buy the shops and not Jaiz bank. I appeal to our people not to pay attention to the propaganda and political exaggerations being peddled that the market will be sold out to an Islamic bank.

Apart from the fact that all willing and able citizens will get the opportunity to buy the shops, Government will ensure that nobody is excluded or given undue advantage on account of faith, political affiliation or ethnicity. The market is going to be run as a business and nothing else. I plead with our citizens not to make utterances or take actions that will scare away investors from coming into the State particularly at the time when we are gradually rebuilding the economy. Even though we are at a political period, let us always separate politics from Governance as Plateau State is greater than our individual ambitions”.

Chairman of Odigbo Properties Ltd Mr. Chikezie Tony said his company decided to embark on the project because of the peaceful atmosphere that has been engendered by Governor Simon Lalong as well as his business friendly policies on land administration and ease of doing business.

The Royal Father also appreciated the NLC for citing the estate in Irigwe land, a development that will provide job opportunities for the youths and also create market for the local people.

Gov Lalong as DG Reignites the APC

Gov Lalong as DG Reignites the APC

Sunday Adam

In less than 24 hours after his appointment as the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Organization, the political stratosphere in Nigeria is already electrified.
Few political events have excited the populace in recent times, like the reality of having Governor Simon Lalong leading the APC campaign trail ahead the 2023 general elections.
The excitement reverberating in the APC over the choice of the governor as campaign DG proves that, not only has the party made the right choice, but that his appointment has added a lease of life to the APC behemoth.
As the new DG moved straight from the Presidential Villa, where he was unveiled to President Muhammadu Buhari by the trio of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Kashim Shetima and Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the presidential flagbearers and APC national chairman, respectively, to the warm embrace of well wishers in Jos who came out in their thousands across party lines to welcome him, it was obvious that the APC has been recharged for greater things ahead.
In the midst of the euphoria, the enormity of the task ahead was not lost on the governor who is not new to such tasks as he had successfully handled similar tasks in the past with his leadership of the campaign of Governor Oyetola in 2018 where he delivered Osun state to the APC.
Governor Lalong made an impression as a true patriot following the nomination of the APC vice presidential candidate. While other contenders lost their cool and were dragging the party to the mud for losing out, he maintained a calm disposition and drew from clearer thinking, believing in the truism that a true leader doesn’t create separation but brings people together.
As chairman, Northern Governors Forum and the only Christian APC governor in the North, he silently continued to work assiduously for the success and growth of his beloved party.
He treaded the dictum of Martin Luther King which says, “a genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a moulder of consensus.”
The early fruits of his labour became apparent following the visit of the Benue State APC governorship candidate, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia on August 3, where the Reverend gentleman appreciated the governor’s support and encouragement.
The calm demeanour of this former two-term Speaker of Conference of Nigerian Speakers of Nigeria, attracted his governor-colleagues, who beamed their searchlight on him to end the teething imbroglio and unite the party to victory.
His reputation preceeded him.
Lalong was the first and only parliamentarian to have survived the first recall process, and suffered about 50 days incarceration following his refusal to impeach his then Governor, Joshua Dariye, and went on to defeat the then ruling party in the state to emerge as Governor of Plateau State.
In all intent and purposes, Lalong stood tall with capacity to carry the trust to steer the course and end the ensuing brouhaha in the APC.
Majority of party faithfuls trusted this Catholic Knight of KSGG to bridge the religious gaps and lead the party to victory.
As the longest serving Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly, Gov Lalong is already putting his boots on the ground to underscore the urgency of the task ahead.
Armed with the reality that all politics is local, he is hitting the ground running by starting from his state base by consolidating on the vigour and renewed strength of the APC on the Plateau.
As the APC governor in Northern Nigeria who has won the hearts of his colleagues to lead them as their chairman, unifying leaders and building blocks of cooperation has been his turf.
With his sleeves rolled up, this Barrister is sired to apply his skills, experience and unblemished track record to lead APC to victory.
Like Martin Luther said “The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
For the APC in Nigeria, it is time again to echo the reigning argot, ‘We move!’

Lalong, Bature Maje others must act now, stakeholders insist.

Sunday Adam

Some critical stakeholders on Monday evening lamented the internal crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress in Plateau stressing that the reconciliation within the party has been poorly handled following the outcome of the party’s primaries recently.

A stakeholder from Mangu local government council of Plateau state who does not want his name in print said that there are several stakeholders in the party in almost all the seventeen local government council of Plateau state who are still members of the party but are agrieved.

In his words, my party the APC would not make headway in the next election if this reconciliation process is not carried out immediately.

The People’s Democratic party PDP is already cashing out on this, some of this aggrieved members are already in talks with the opposition party.

I want to use this medium to call on his excellency Governor Simon Lalong, the APC chairman of the party in Plateau Hon Rufus Bature, deputy speaker of the house of representatives to step in if not, the APC would not go anywhere.

We can not pretend that all is well, the Governor must stand up and do the needful if not, the PDP would coast to victory come 2023 in Plateau, he added.

“This is how the PDP lost out in 2015 the handled their reconciliation poorly and that is the advantages that brought us the APC on board, our Governor must act now or else the same faith might befall us in 2023,” he added.

Breaking news: 5 Aspirants Jostle for labour Party Gubernatorial Ticket.

At least five Gubernatorial Aspirants from the Rulling All Progressive Congress who Contested the last primaries are currently battling for the labor party ticket.

Investigations reveal that following the momentum the labour party has gathered through its presidential candidate Peter Obi across the country and the need for a 3rd force in the political scene in plateau state, some aspirants who lost out in the all progressives Congress gubernatorial primaries have seen the labor party as the new bride, hence the jostle for the gubernatorial ticket temporary being held by Ambassador Yohanna Margif.

It was gathered that among those slugging it out for the party ticket include Senior Advocate Nigeria Garba Pwull, Renown virologist Dr Patrick Dakum, Dr. Clement Dakas, Serving APC Hezekiah Dimka Who represents Plateau central and Ambassador Yohanna Margif

Some of the listed Aspirants are using all available means including financial inducement, Political Connections among others to ensure they clinch the party ticket.

The influx of these political big wigs into the labor party started after the APC Gubernatorial Primaries where It was alleged that the Plateau state governor Simon Lalong influenced the process to the favour his anointed candidate Dr. Nentawe Yilwada, expectedly it didn’t go down well with other aspirants who resorted to various means including litigations and resignation from the party to make their point.

Desperate attempt by these Politicians to grab the ticket from the temporary holder have shown pressure from political heavy weights in the state on the holder to relinquish the ticket to this end as high level talks, meetings have been on with various camps intensifying pressure on the temporary ticket holder. One of such high level delegations was led by a former governor and serving minister.

The political calculation in some quarters has it that the Labour party stands a better chance if the current holder Ambassador Margif trades the ticket as he does not posses the political muscle to win the election.

Sources have it that, the Ambassador Yohanna Margif is weighing available options as he is yet to come out with a position even as pressure from the Current adminstration mounts on him not to relinquish the ticket which a pledge for a handsome reward if he agree to thier terms.
