OBSERVER GROUP CALL FOR CREDIBLE AND PEACEFUL ELECTIONS ,URGE VOTER PARTICIPATION

SUNDAY ADAM JOS

The International Leadership Initiative and a Coalition of INEC accredited observer groups geared towards a peaceful and credible, 2023 governorship and state house of assembly elections has thought it wise to prepare the minds of Nigerians and especially the plateau state citizens on the need to have a peaceful governorship and state House of Assembly elections.

In a press release, to Journalist at Crispan Hotel, Rayfield Jos. The Executive Director International Leadership Initiative, Prince Stafford Jedidiah Bisong , stated that ” Bad Leaders are elected by good citizens who do not vote” He added that “nobody will deprive you of the right to vote when you step out except you deprive yourself of not voting. If you don’t you are ignoring history and giving away your feature. Noting that ” our vote is the most powerful non- violence tool in our society and is another opportunity to use it.

Prince Bisong further revealed that during the signing of the peace accord the Nigerian Police led by the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, assured Nigerians of a safe, effective and secured environment for voting. Also, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission( INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu and his team assured Nigerians that all modalities are in place from accreditation, voting, counting of ballots, results announcement and real time viewing of results sheets on the INEC portal. Which means that every vote will count but unfortunately that was not the case during the last Presidential and National Assembly Elections. He appeal to INEC and the Security agencies to please improve in the areas that were faced with hiccups during the last elections in order to have a free, fair and credible election.

According to the Director, the aim of the Press release is towards a hitch free governorship and state assembly elections. He enjoined every eligible voters that is of voting age to go out and exercise their franchise by voting for the candidate of their choice in the fourth coming Saturday Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly Elections.

REMEMBERING THE BIG PLATEAU CLOWN CALLED DAN MANJANG

PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY ( PDP ) PLATEAU STATE CHAPTER 20 / 22 YAKUBU GOWON WAY OPP NTA JOS

12TH MARCH 2023

PRESS STATEMENT

REMEMBERING THE BIG PLATEAU CLOWN CALLED DAN MANJANG

These are truly not good times for some officials of the outgoing Simon Lalong government as they prepare to exit the political stage. Whenever one thinks of them, one of the first thing that comes to mind is the fact that there lived an information commissioner, Dan Manjang whose stock in trade is to bite the fingers that fed him and to disrespect his elders and previous breadwinners to any extent of impressing his grossly failed mentor, Governor Lalong.

It is no longer news on the Plateau that the outgoing Commissioner for information Dan Manjang has officially turned himself to a political clown, deeply beclouded by a dead conscience .

It is unthinkable, shameful and ungrateful for the commissioner to have written deliberate and insultive falsehood against the People of Plateau and a respected elderstatesman and former Governor Da J D JANG who brought him to limelight from his woods. This is not the first time the arrogant and treacherous Manjang is casting aspersion on his father and mentor, just to protect his bread under the failed Apc administration of.
His position is not only laughable but a self mockery of what his political fortunes has been reduced to because no serious, focused, responsible and intelligent politician will display such a behaviour in the public space.

Dan Manjang’s celebration of Nentawe ‘s victory even when election is yet to be conducted shows the level of myopic thinking and desperation and their rigging plans towards the forthcoming elections which is being unravelled by the day. By this act, Manjang has further exposed this government’s incompetence and insensitivity towards the People of the state. It is rather unfortunate that in the course of defending his sinking government he got carried away by his dead conscience leading to his naked macabre dance of shame peculiar to a drawing and overtly desperate appointee who lost out in his ambition to be the running mate of their candidate.
Manjang’s political career would soon be deregistered from the political space after March 18 as his action can best be described as mere act of shenanigans because reality is already downing on the APC governorship candidate ahead of the March 18 election leaving him to contend with the overwhelming pressure that has already set in on him.

We want to remind Manjang that only God gives power to whoever He wants and that his show of unbridled desperation leading to his outpouring insult on our elderstatesman is becoming evidently heightened by each passing day. We therefore urge him to take it easy because Mutfwang’s election is ordained by God and fully backed by the people of Plateau as seen in the support of our elderstatesman and leader Da J. D. Jang CON and other prominent Plateau elders.

While we urge Manjang to focus on his commissioner’s duties by informing Plateau citizens of the achievements of the government he is serving rather than outpouring his anger on the people of Plateau and our elders. We advise the commissioner to as usual, shamelessly try his luck again after our swearing in since he is well known for bulldozing his way from one administration to the other. Be reminded that you have reached a terminal point of such frivolous plans.

Manjang and his cohorts, we indeed know and understand the traumatic impact of contesting against a more popular, performing and generally accepted candidate as Barr Caleb Mutfwang because the emotional and psychological pressure that usually come with such is better imagined moreso, with your chances of winning very slim. In this instance Manjang’s act can best be described as a comedy to keep apc supporters hope alive when deep down in the commissioner’s mind he is battling a traumatic, psychological and emotional pressure particularly from where he hails from ” Riyom village.”

However, we urge Manjang not to drain himself with his overtly desperate approach to this election because it is only God who gives power to whoever He wants and since He has entrusted Barr Caleb Mutfwang with this responsibility to rescue and rebuild Plateau state,Dan and his candidate should try their luck again in 2027 when governor Mutfwang would be completing his first term of office because there is absolutely no doubt Plateau people are ready and determined to vote Caleb Mutfwang to Government House. Plateau people have spoken and will speak again. THE TIME IS NOW!!!

Signed.

PDP CALLS INEC TO DECLARE PLATEAU CENTRAL SENATORIAL ELECTIONS

Sunday Adam Jos

The PDP candidate for Plateau Central Senatorial Zone Mr Golkuna Gotom has called on INEC to be fair and Just to him by declaring him winner of the just conclude National Assembly elections which he is convinced he won.

Speaking with Journalist in Jos, Gotom wondered why the results of the elections have not been announced almost two weeks after the exercise and expressed worry over plans to manipulate the results.

Gotom alleged that figures were mutilated and cancelled to favor a political party and raised eyebrows over a result sheet which scored zero in some polling units, a situation he described as absurd.

He alleged that figures in Kanam Local Government Areas are always held back waiting for other Local Government Areas to announce theirs so that they know by which margin of votes to be used to rig the results and stressed that BIVAS has been able to address this issue.

The PDP candidate, who presented a result sheet that was mutilated as well as one that had a result which he said he got from the INEC server, stressed that from all calculations he won the elections with more than twenty six thousand votes.

Gotom raised three basic issues as his prayers which include, computation errors, mutilation of results and over voting in some areas, noting that he would not accept any any supplementary elections as he has won the elections.

NGO Trains security Agents on civil-Military cooperation

Sunday Adam Jos

An NGO, CLEEN Foundation, has organised a two-day training for security agents on civilian protection, civil-military cooperation and international humanitarian law.

Declaring the training open on Tuesday in Jos, Mr Gad Peter, the Executive Director of the organisation, said that the exercise was supported by Open Society Initiative for West Africa (OSIWA) and International Alert.

He explained that the project, currently being implemented in Plateau, Borno and Zamfara states, aimed at promoting human rights, inclusivity and accountability in security sector governance.

He added that it would promoted early response to existing and emerging security challenges currently facing Nigeria.

”Terrorism continues to pose a major threat to internal peace, stability and security in the country and undermines the core values of the nation; so this project is focusing on Borno, Zamfara and Plateau considering that these states continue to face multiple challenges posed by various terrorist groups with devastating human cost, and immense negative consequences for economic and social development.

”In Borno, Plateau and Zamfara, terrorism has become a troubling issue in recent times; terrorists have destroyed lives and properties, some are permanently altered, increased number of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), thereby costing the government a huge lot of resources to tackle them.

”As the government is doing its best to eradicate terrorism, CLEEN Foundation is also leaving no stone unturned to help in getting rid of the menace, through constructive interventions with state and non state actors.

”CLEEN Foundation through this project will be assessing the performance of the security agents in such a way they do not affect the ordinary citizens by following the concerns that violent attacks on the part of law enforcement and military units have led to international accusations of human rights abuses and ensure that perpetrators of such act are brought to justice,”he said.

He said that project would look at the crucial role of women toward creating opportunities for social cohesion and a more inclusive and stable society.

He added the project would complement the efforts of law enforcement and intelligence agencies, adding that it would also empower a vast network of actors at the local and national level.

”This means that policymakers and practitioners have a space to engage with stakeholders and women in particular within the value chain.

”The role of women and girls is crucial when working on creating opportunities for social cohesion and more inclusive and stable societies,”he said.

The personnel of the Police Force, Militray, Nigerian Immigraction Service (NIS), Department of State Services (DSS)
Nigerian Security and Civil Defense(NSCDC) and Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), participated in the training.

Other participants at the training include members of the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), National Human Rights Commission and other goverment agencies

DISCLAIMER: DAKUM HAS NOT STEPPED DOWN FOR MUTFWANG

Sunday Adam Jos

Consolidation for Greater Plateau 2023, is calling on the general public most especially its teeming supporters of our sagacious, indefatigable, capacitated, forward-looking and visionary captain full of ingenuity, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum and his learned running mate, the erudite, venerable and undaunted Hon. Edward Pwajok, to totally disregard the concocted fictitious broth of poisonous deceits by hallucinating and phantasmagoria coward politicians, dreaded by the skyrockettimg acceptability of our principal by the greatest population of the state; saying that Dakum has stepped down for Barrister Caleb Mutfwang of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in preparation to the coming governorship election.
The charade press release being circulated on social media that Dakum has stepped down attributable to the Labour Party, is meant for the dustin as it has totally fallen short of the standard and authenticity yardstick of press release carrying such heavy issue.
The press release did not indicate the name of the LP Chairman that issued it and his signature and that of the Secretary of the party. Furthermore, if there is such a decision, the governorship candidate will be the one to address the state and not the party chairman. Therefore the press release is fake and malicious, aimed at deceiving the public.
The reasons given by the writer (s) and perpetrator (s) of the press release was laughable.
The LP Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi has headed to court to recoup his stolen mandate from the All Progressives Congress, APC, with the full support of Dr. Patrick Dakum and Plateau State LP. Therefore, we cannot abandon our victory by stepping down for anyone.
The LP is very much aware of the PDP’s subsisting court case at the Supreme Court which might deprive it of its victory at the February 25, 2023 National Assembly seats, as it did to Hon. Musa Agah (PDP) of Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency in 2022. Thus; the LP cannot risk going into alliance with the PDP and ended giving victory to the debauchery APC in case the Apex Court rules in its disfavour.
Dakum is the most qualified governorship candidate with very rich political curriculum vitae of bettering the lives of many citizens through empowerment as democracy demands even before joining the governorship race. He is highly experienced in executive roles by virtue of being a two time commissioner.
His sojourn in politics since the Second Republic places his experience far above all the other contestants. His expertise in Implementation as Implementation Scientist, is far greater than other contestants. He has done so much towards nation building which time and space cannot permit to mention one-tenth (1/10) of them.
His running mate, Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN, KSG, is well experienced in the art of the Rule of Law as a former Member of the Federal House of Reps and the Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice of Plateau State. Being a former Commissioner, he has the experience of executive function too.
With this unprecedented rare breed and tag-team of leadership experts, all functions of government ranging from welfare of the citizens, rule of law, security, economic boost and infrastructural development, Plateau is in for a jolly flight to enviable height of progress, unity, peace and prosperity.
The best combination of governorship candidate and his running mate cannot step down for a lesser combination to the detriment of the state.
Dakum is solidly on ground and has not stepped down for anyone.
There was no where a meeting in that regard was held nor contemplated.
Therefore disregard the fabricated viral infested diarrhoea stew of the cowards.
Come out en masse and vote LP head to toe on Saturday 11th March, 2023. Vote Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum/Hon Edward Pwajok for governor and deputy governor and all LP House of Assembly candidates.
LP, forward ever, backward never!

PLATEAU CAN DEBUNKS  ENDORSEMENT OF  GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATES

Sunday Adam Jos

The Plateau chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has disclosed that it did not endorse any candidate for the gubernatorial elections in the state.

Its chairman, Rev. Fr. Polycarp Lubo, told disclosed this in Jos while interacting with select journalist said  Plateau electorate should turn out en-masse on March 11 to vote for the leader of their choice.

“Concerning the governorship and the state assembly elections, be enthusiastic to come and vote en-masse the candidate of your choice in the interest of Plateau.

“Vote candidates who are God-fearing; have integrity and are accountable; vote men and women of good character and who have track records and are passionate about Plateau,’’ he charged.

Lubo thanked Plateau people for participating in the presidential election, saying that those whose candidates did not win should not be discouraged from participating in the governorship election.

He  added that it was important for Plateau to pray for the will of God to prevail at the elections.

The CAN leader in Plateau also admonished the people not to take the laws into their hands no matter the outcome of the elections

Mutfwang/Piyo, PDP Youth Campaign Directorate

Sunday Adam Jos

The Mutfwang/Piyo Youth Campaign Directorate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State wishes to dispel false and misleading contents making rounds on social media that the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP Barrister Caleb Mutfwang made certain statements.

The Directorate wishes to state that it has became necessary to address the issues given the tendency to mislead unsuspecting Plateau people. The Directorate wishes to state as follows;

  1. That contents on social media suggesting that Barrister Caleb Mutfwang said he will sack civil servants employed in the last 4 Years is not only misleading and false, but the fabrication of the APC and her candidates who are struggling to save what is left of her dwindling popularity among Plateau people given the results of the National Assembly Elections in which the PDP was voted overwhelmingly.
  2. That the false contents on social media claiming that Barrister Caleb Mutfwang said that Jos North is traditionally owned by Berom Nation is completely untrue and only a figment of the imaginations of the APC and her online propaganda group operating under the command of the DG PICTDA David Daser.
The Youth Directorate wishes to remind the public that Barrister Caleb Mutfwang had engaged non partisan groups and stakeholders of Jos North in a town hall meeting, replicated by the Youth Directorate where he shared with them his vision for a united and prosperous Plateau. Barrister Caleb Mutfwang publicly made bold his decision make Plateau peaceful and prosperous for all residents independent of religious and ethnic affiliations.
  3. The Directorate describes as malicious, unfortunate and unthinkable the tactics being adopted by the APC which is sensing defeat at the March 11th 2023 Gubernatorial and State Assembly Elections. The APC is traumatized by the impending defeat and has resorted to selling propaganda and lies, an act best described as the struggle by a drowning man holding on to anything just to stay afloat.
  4. The Directorate has it on good authority that the APC are planning once again to persuade and collude with some potentially compromised staff of INEC to yield to their plans to manipulate results and bye-pass the Biomodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) in order to rig the March 11th 2023 elections in Kanam, Wase, Shendam, part of Quan’pan and part of Jos North LGAs. The Directorate therefore calls on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to redeem itself from the abysmal performance of their Officials in the February 25th Presidential Polls where they colluded with politicians to perpetrate various degrees of electoral malpractices.
  5. The Directorate wishes to state that Mobilization has been concluded to ensure that INEC Staff and voters are not intimidated into yielding into the overtures of the APC to rig the March 11th 2023. The Directorate encourages Plateau Youths to rise up to the occasion and join forces with the Directorate to protect INEC Staff who are poised on doing the right thing and also protect votes from the polling units right to the ward collation center.
  6. The Directorate cautioned the APC administration trying to arm-twist local chiefs to issue threats and intimidation to farmers in Quan’pan and other areas that their farms will be seized if they vote for the PDP to refrain from such acts. The Directorate wishes to remind the APC that farm lands are traditional and God given and should not be dragged and used as political weapons, considering that such acts are capable of igniting communal conflicts and fracture the peace in rural communities in Plateau State.
  7. The Directorate uses this opportunityp to call on Young people in Plateau State not to despair or be discouraged over the result of the February 25th 2023 Presidential Elections but turn out enmass to vote for the PDP in salvaging the soul and restoring the glory days of Plateau State. The Directorate noted that the March 11th 2023 gubernatorial and State assembly elections is one election that will affect generations to come and hence young people must come out in defense of their future and that of the generation yet unborn.
  8. The Directorate wishes to use this opportunity to thank Plateau People for coming out in large numbers to vote for the PDP leading to landslide and historic victories in the National Assembly Elections. The Directorate urges them to come out without fear to vote massively for the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP Barrister Caleb Mutfwang and all PDP State assembly candidates in order to return Plateau State to the people who genuinely care about us all and not those who seek to continue to serve strange interests.

TINUBU: LALONG’S CRASS CALLOUS ATTACK OF CALUMNY AGAINST TALLEN

Sunday Adam Jos

, KOMSOL (By Shabul Mazadu)
It is heartbreaking that Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong has adapted the posture of Pull Him Down Syndrome as a political mode of survival and keeps building on it to assume the political kingpin of his party and Plateau state.
He has introduced a ferocious enmity kind of politics and assassination of brotherhood and sisterhood in the game to gain political favours. He is more of a predator to all including those who made him what he is.
Over three weeks ago, precisely February 12, 2023, Lalong attacked Senator Joshua Dariye, demeaning him before the public eye with bogus claims of betrayal of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, using a faceless writer code named Godfrey Miaphen.
Now that Tinubu had his way to win, and Lalong lost the Senatorial contest woefully, he started sponsoring write-ups here and there to appear angelic and be given appointment by Tinubu as can be seen from the fictitious tale by moonlight written by his noisy and sycophantic gongs, Alfred Mashat and Yakubu Dati, and then sponsored character smearing and assassination press conference against the Minister of Women Affairs, Dame Pauline Tallen and the member representing Mikang/Shendam/Qua’an Pan Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Hon. Alphonsus Longgap Komsol, using a group tagged “Shendam APC Concerned Group” led by one Robert Hoomsuk.
The essence of his calumny is to paint bad Dariye, Tallen and Komsol who are by far much better politicians than himself so that he will be considered for appointment from Plateau.
Imagine his press sycophantic crew saying Tinubu should reject the congratulations sent to him by Tallen and Komsol, but his own should be accepted. This is childish and a big disgrace to Plateau before the world.
While Tinubu is seeking reconciliation to appease those whom he stole the mandate from, Lalong is fanning the embers of enmity just to get appointment just as his faceless crew of miscreants pitched the Christians in Plateau against the Muslim Hausa community that he wanted to rebuild the Main Market for them, but the Christians dragged him to court. They also perpetrated that Christians hated Lalong because of accepting the Director General of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket, just to win favour before the Muslims and get their support.
Lalong is a repugnant politician with extremely poor philanthropy, zero reward system, Pull Him Down Syndrome, immature, inarticulate and very poorly at coordination when speaking before the cameras and recorders and a perpetual betrayer of those who made him what he is. How can such a man be politically accepted?
Lalong in the first place never loved Tinubu.
During the presidential primary campaign, he banned Tinubu from coming to Plateau State because he wanted his candidate, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi to win the presidential primary. He said it before the whole world that Plateau State’s delegates were for Amaechi.
Lalong’s gallant fight for power shift to the South was to favour Amaechi and not Tinubu. The delegates he took to Abuja for the presidential primary voted for Amaechi except the few who were convinced by Hon. Komsol to vote for Tinubu.
Going by Lalong’s permutation, he never wanted Tinubu to be president, but after rejecting him and he won the ticket, Lalong hurriedly lobbied for the DG of his campaign when he took Kashim Shettima as running mate.
Tinubu did not hold grudge against Lalong, but here he is whipping hatred against Komsol and Tallen before him with baseless allegations and concocted lies saying their congratulatory messages should not be accepted over the crime they never committed.
If Lalong really wanted Tinubu to win the presidential elections in Plateau, he would have closed ranks with Tallen, Dariye, Amos Gizo, David Victor Dimka and Dr. Sarpiya Danyaro, but because he loves standing tall and wanted at any cost to be the political leader despite his nasty political culture of using and dumping people, zero reward system and running the government of family, friends and stooges and above all biting the finger that fed him, he attempted doing it with his Van Da Waal’s dynasty, but failed woefully.
Lalong’s plan for doing this is in case victory is won, he will be chosen for appointment or be supported for Senate President if he had won the Senate.
All Tinubu’s friends whom Lalong betrayed, hated, and oppressed, worked independently for him.
Lalong should stop disgracing Plateau and pitching us against other Nigerians to ameliorate his selfish and insatiable quest for power and dominance.
Telling Tinubu not to accept the felicitation of Komsol and Tallen is absurd, childish and presenting an ugly fragmented picture of Plateau to the world.
I am not holding brief for anyone, but Plateau must not be perpetually disgraced and reduced to rubble disposition wise because of Lalong’s inordinate quest for power.

DAKUM/PWAJOK,THE A TEAM

Sunday Adam Jos

DAKUM/PWAJOK, THE A TEAM
The prerequisite for sound leadership which leads to development and advancement is eligibility which encompasses: know-how, experience, patriotism and forward-looking.
These ingredients are embedded in the super eligible, erudite, venerable and visionary Governorship tag-team of the Labour Party, LP, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum and his running mate, Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN, KSG, who have left and are setting enviable indelible footprints in all their fields of endeavours.
EXPERIENCE
Dakum/Pwajok are all experts and authorities in their jurisdictions of medical and judiciary, and both have experience working with Plateau State executive arm of government as commissioners at different intervals and governors.
While Dakum was a two time Commissioner of Health and Information under the Dariye administration, Pwajok was the longest serving Commissioner of Justice under Michael Botmang administration and eight years commissioner in Jonah Jang’s.
This exposure has given them the practical sagacity of the workings of the executive arm of government, the challenges bedeviling Plateau, and all other things that pertain to the economy and natural resources of the state and how best to harness them with human resources for the benefit of the citizens.
FORWARD-LOOKING
A former Secretary-General of Common Wealth Countries, Chief Emeka Anyaoku said, “Good and effective leadership has been shown to be an indispensable requirement for human society to make progress and develop.
“Countries and nations whose societies have attained appreciable development and advancement have done so because they have been blessed with forward-looking and progressive leaders committed to uplifting the welfare and wellbeing of their peoples.”
Dakum/Pwajok are forward-looking that’s why they are successful in their fields. If they are failures without vision, Dakum wouldn’t have been a successful administrator of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, Presidential Emergency Plan on AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, programme of the US President and Self-Sustaining Enterprise NGO. He is also a Professor in Maryland University, USA.
Pwajok is the only life bencher from Plateau State.
PATRIOTISM
Dakum/Pwajok have no record of criminality as persons, neither were they indicted for misappropriation of funds and nepotism in the discharge of their assignments.
They have impacted positively on so many less privileged men and women of society and the vulnerable.
THEIR ADVANTAGES
Dakum being an implementation scientist whose practice has elevated and remarkably progressed the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, Presidential Emergency Plan on AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, of the President of the United States of America, and the NGO, Self-Sustaining Enterprise, will definitely implement all their agendas contained in their manifesto according to the Rule of Law guided by his deputy, the legal luminary, Edward Pwajok.
Aside the judiciary, Pwajok has practical experience as a legislator being a former member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
The combination of Dakum/Pwajok will give robust arms of government with excellent working synergy, and also dispense justice to the third tier of government, the local government councils where they will be allowed to choose their leadership in cognisance to the rule of law.
Under Dakum/Pwajok, Plateau is sure of being a WELFARE STATE where social, health, security and economic well-being of the citizens inhabitants are promoted and protected through systems of laws and institutions.
They will also prescribe minimum standards and provide equal opportunities in education, health, housing, pensions and so on.
The Civil service will be capacitated under this A Team for greater efficiency. Professor Tunji Olaopa said, “Democratic governance demands the efficiency of a capacitated public service to deliver the dividends that will transform the lives of the citizens.”
The A TEAM is above all others with rich Curriculum Vitae on the inside out of governance both at the arms and tiers of government and the art of bettering the welfare of all citizens and infrastructural development.
A God fearing leadership mixed with respect for the Rule of Law, the citizens are save and secured as their rights will not be abused, while justice will be dispensed to all without biasness or resentment and sentiments.
The rescuer is here, and it is the A TEAM!

PLATEAU GUBERNATORIAL ELECTIONS 2023: THE RACE TO LITTLE RAYFIELD

Sunday Adam Jos

There is no analysis that I haven’t seen on the three major contenders of the forthcoming Plateau gubernatorial elections. Ranging from the highly cerebral to the intellectually deficient beer parlour ones.

I’ve seen posts that are clearly obviously propaganda and I’ve seen write-ups containing facts and half truths.

Furthermore there are those supporting their candidates because they genuinely believe that their candidate will take Plateau state to greater heights.

Additionally there are those rendering their support because the candidate is from their tribe or the candidate attended the same school as them or they like how the candidate looks and those who hope to get an opportunity to milk the state dry.

Amongst the three major contenders, all are credible. All have managed important offices/positions. All have their strengths and weaknesses, including their positive and negative aspects.

Personally I can write a post in support of any of the three candidates and convince you that they are the best for the job.

That is why I have refused to comment on any post castigating any of the aspirants or any post claiming their aspirant is the best.

Nonetheless there are so many factors that I have considered before throwing my support for Dr. Patrick Dakum. He is an astute Administration with international links and affiliations. He has done quite a lot for Plateau people in terms of employment and mentorship and I believe he has the least amount of controversy linked to him.

I don’t know Dr. Dakum personally. In fact one of the other two aspirant has been in correspondence with me. But unfortunately I can’t support that candidate at this particular time based on reasons which I need not go into.

Under different circumstances I would have supported that specific candidate, but not in this case.

The good thing is I’m happy with the caliber of candidates this time around and I’m sure a good number of Plateau people are happy as well.

Hence whoever wins at the end of the day, hopefully Plateau will forge ahead despite the herculean tasks that await the next occupant of Little Rayfield.

Best of luck to Dr. Patrick Dakum and Long Live Plateau State Nigeria.

P.S. I have respected all your posts supporting your candidates, please respect my choice as well.

GOMBE: APC FATE HANGS IN THE BALANCE

Sunday Adam Jos

Saturday, March 11, 2023, is judgement day for the All Progressives Congress (APC) administration in Gombe  State. It is a date many citizens have anxiously waited for with so much expectation and high hopes.

The past 4 years of the APC have left in their hearts a bitter taste and pill that is hard to swallow  and a devastated landscape devoid of the kind of development other states of the federation have experienced.

Gombe State citizens have never before been subjected to the kind of rudderless leadership, Religious bigotry ,harddeness and  accompanied by an almost complete absence of infrastructural, economic and social development, the way the current APC administration has done.

As things stand, the inevitable verdict of the people is bound to be justifiably, proportionately, damning. The long-term outcome shall be the rebirth of the state and its citizens.

Today, it has the negative distinction of being the saddest and religious divided state  in the country.owning to the divisive nature of the state governor Inuwa Yahaya who has fostered on the people’s actions that is not helpful

The tragedy of the state is best appreciated when it is also realised that the inuwa government has so far divided the state across board without recourse to the feeling and yearning of the people.

This sort of bleak record is vastly replicated in other sectors of the economy, governance and general administration of the state.

The full extent of the damage the APC administration has wrought will only become clearer when the next governor takes office. They have substantially succeeded in reducing the stat to a shadow of its once glorious and robust self.

The APC government here loves to flamboyantly tout itself as  By the way they have misapplied and corrupted this concept, it is either they accidentally picked this fanciful notion by the road side or they never got the hang of what its original fabricator had in mind.

Whichever way, it has become apparent that Gombe State never had it so bad to this extent  Since it set out on this self-serving and delusional mission, the APC administration has, rather, plundered and destroyed the immense and palpable gains made by its predecessor Former Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo whose track record interms of performance is visible seen

It is why the governor himself and his misguided administration that are in dire need of restitution now as the governor seeing the handwriting on the wall started by apologizing for the wrong it has done to the Christian community which he believes are non existence in the state, followed by the traditional institutions were he foisted leaders without recourse to the  They have completely lost all sense of direction and cannot find the way out of this stifling morass into which they have dragged the state.

Today, a majority of the people who are not blinded by their political allegiances to the APC are yearning for a return to those good old days of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Broken promises, outright lies, fabrications and missed opportunities are some of the derelict mementoes the APC administration will leave for Gombe  people. Citizens are still asking the governor what is it that it can boost for the people to ride on…

The governor who is a former Commissioner for finance and knows the importance managing resources can he boost of such..

That phenomenal quantum leap, which became the benchmark for other states, even the Federal Government, has been brutally killed in the state

Questions are still being asked about the humongous loan facility said to have been procured by the state government and has gone into private pocket and because this administration does not care a bit about accountability and transparency, nothing will be known about this shady deal until a new government takes over. The same with the mysterious case of the 400 tractors.

The APC’s attack on, and disregard for the rule of law, is unmatched in the political history of the state through attacks, intimation and Cohesion of political opponents in the state

Gombe is divided into three political zones which are Gombe North,Gombe South and Gombe Central

Gombe Central which has the largest votes and is controlled by the former governor and senator Danjuma Goje were the governor served as a commissioner of finance and his political machinery the governor rode to power but today reverse is the case seen during the wedding of the senators daughter were thugs suspected to be sponsored by the governor attacked the former governor Goje this singular action didn’t go down well with Goje and today the story is different and might affect governor Inuwa Yahaya reflection bid

Gombe south prodominently Christians but one significant issue on board is the Tangale traditional crisis which has divided the state between Christians and muslim leading to mass defection of all political associates from the APC to other political parties and a signal that the Center might not hold for the rulling party ahead of march 11

Gombe North the strong hold of the former governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo now an elected senator who has been at loggerheads wit the incumbent governor whose actions is not helping the state

The presidential election has come, gone and left its sour taste in the mouths of majority of Nigerians. But that should neither dampen their morale nor derail  them from performing Saturday’s necessary exercise of purgation, especially in Gombe State.

Citizens should trudge on with determination.  Purge this APC scourge that has sucked the life out of the state so perniciously in the last eight years. It is now stranded, motionless, in the national race towards greatness.

The people must return to that golden era where the overall good and interests of the masses are the overriding concerns of government.

For Gombe  APC, your fate hangs in the balance  – the damning verdict of the people.

Nigeria Decides:Prophet Isa El-Buba Calls for Cancellation Of Saturday Presidential Polls over Irregularities.

Sunday Adam Jos

.* DemandsbFor Fresh Polls By INEC In line With the Electoral Act.

Global Chairman Coalition for Better and Brighter Nigeria(CBBN) Prophet Isa El-Buba has called for the cancellation of last Saturday’s Presidential election as it did not comply with 2022 Electoral Act as amended in the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

El-Buba in an interview with newsmen at EBOMI Headquarters Jos , said his group might be compelled to take their protest against the fraud that took place last Saturday to the INEC offices across the country to express their disappointment with poor conduct of the Polls by the National Electoral body (INEC) .

El-Buba noted that before the Saturday Polls was held, INEC Chairman Professor Mahmood Yakubu publicly assured the Nigerian public and the International community that INEC had made adquate preparation for free and fair general election across the country but regretted the outcome of the polls was fraught with irregularities..

El-Buba noted that the last Saturday Presidential Polls exercise has left millions of Nigerians disappointed and disillusioned because of the unprofessional conduct of state and non-state actors that participated in the process.

He added that the Electoral Act was amended in 2022 for the electronic transmission of results after they are declared at the polling units and that Nigerians participated in this process with the belief that the use of technology and adherence to the agreed electronic transmission of results to INEC servers at polling units would ensure free, fair, and transparent election, but regretted that the opposite happened.

He alleged that INEC servers were shut down as Presidential elections and as such the results could not be uploaded onto the INEC server.

“The Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) did not work as planned.”

According to him, the failure has undoubtedly given room for manipulating the presidential results being announced by the INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu at the Collation Centre in Abuja.

“These manipulations were carried out under the watchful eyes and connivance of security Agents at several polling units and INEC offices”.

“The decision of INEC to go ahead to announce these doctored results based on manufactured voting has defeated the efforts made by Nigerians to see that the Electoral Act was amended to allow for electronic transmission of results.

He demanded for fresh conduct of Presidential Polls in line with the provisions of the Electoral Act as amended.

He added that it is disheartening that more 24 hours after the elections was held across the country, INEC is still battling to upload the authentic results of the Presidential poll on its server, stressing that. the excuse that the server is down is not tenable.

Tinubu/Shetima: Signed, sealed and delivered

Sunday Adam Jos

The Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Campaign Council, Gov Simon Lalong has against all odds, successfully delivered Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Sen Kashim Shetima, respectively as President-elect and Vice President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The DG who led a 10,000 member strong workforce comprising of 70 vibrant Directorates was efficiently supported by a team of notable personalities like Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Hadiza Bala Usman as Deputy Directors coordinated by the workaholic James Abiodun Faleke and Christopher Tarka to secure the people’s mandate.

While the National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Adamu and the National Working Committee of the party, also worked in unison with the campaign council to deliver the ticket.

The undoubtedly free and fair elections however came with bits of surprises, where the key drivers of the campaign experienced minor setbacks in their strongholds of Lagos, Nassarawa, Kano, Kebbi, Katsina and Plateau States.

Notwithstanding, the team gave the opposition parties a bloody nose in the final tally resulting in the landslide victory for the APC.

The difference in campaign strategy was that while the opposition elements exploited the fragile sentiments of ethnic and religious fault lines to hoodwink some unsuspecting members of the public, the APC concentrated on issues that unite the country.

Fortunately, a greater majority of voters saw through the divisive agenda of the opposition and voted rather for what is in the best interest of the country: that power shifts from the North to the Southern part of Nigeria to keep the country one.

It was Gov Lalong as Chairman of Northern States Governor’s Forum, who led his colleagues to insist that power must shift to the South for justice, fairness and national integration.

With the emergence of the duo of Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and Sen Kashim Shetima as flagbearers of the APC however, the opposition saw what they thought was a loophole to exploit primordial sentiments but the APC quickly blocked that avenue by strategically appointing Gov Lalong as DG of its presidential campaign, a move which effectively doused the mischief of the opposition as it balanced the configuration in the top hierarchy of the campaign and cured the perceived religious imbalance of the APC ticket.

Sensing imminent defeat on account of that, the opposition continued with divisive campaigns meant to confuse the public from the germane issue of power shift from North to South, but again, Nigerians saw through their deception and rejected them for a candidacy that enthrones national integration.

With this, the familiar antics of the opposition parties to plunge the largest country in Africa into crisis by resorting to self help failed woefully while the imperative of peace and unity prevailed as championed by the ruling party held sway.

It was a beautiful sight thereafter as Gov Lalong, the Director General of the campaign council led the President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Vice President-elect, Sen Kassim Shetima, to receive their Certificates of Return from the electoral umpire, INEC, and later to Daura to present same to the Chairman of the APC Campaign Council and President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari.

While the DG like other APC leaders of the winning party have accepted the temporary losses in their respective states as part of the hiccups of the game and have moved on, the opposition elements especially in Plateau, the homestead of Gov Lalong are busy gloating over this temporary setback, not minding the capacity of Gov Lalong to recover from such.

Close followers of history will acknowledge that Gov Lalong has in the course of his political journey experienced such setbacks but they have never kept him down as he typifies the aphorism ‘a good man cannot be kept down.’

That was how he survived an attempt to illegally remove him as Speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly when he refused to impeach the then Gov Joshua Dariye and got detained in tow. He survived another attempt to recall him from the House of Assembly and instead defied the odds to bounce back and become a 2-time governor of Plateau state, Chairman of Northern Governors Forum and DG of his party’s Presidential campaign that has today, delivered the President-elect of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In spite of the fact that the former Governor of Plateau state he labored to protect in office is currently leading the onslaught against him, Gov Lalong is set to deliver Plateau in the next round of elections to the APC.

The Governor’s sterling qualities and peaceful disposition is already working in his favour, as he projects the state to national preeminence in the next dispensation for the obvious benefits the state is bound to derive by being on the same page with the party at the center.

As the nation prepares for the governorship and House of Assembly elections on March 11, it has become imperative to advise that for Plateau State to remain in the mainstream of national politics, it is important the state sustains its alliance and cordial relationship with the Federal Government which was started by Gov Lalong, by strategically identifying with the ruling party at the national level.

Such alliance will accelerate the needed development and serve the interest of the people of the state, who are in dire need of infrastructural and other socio-economic interventions, as the state can no longer afford the luxury of needless opposition.

For further progress, let’s vote to maintain Plateau as an APC state due to the inherent benefits derivable from being in harmony with the center.

Sunday Adam Jos

Equity International Initiative (EII) has deployed over 2000 observers deployed across the country and launched the citizen’s observers Hub for the 2023 general election.

“2023 General election is a very important and crucial election in the history of our country as for the first time the county is witnessing a huge percentage of youth voter turnout across the county with the Equity International Initiatives (EII) mobilizing and encouraging over 15 million young voters across the country to register and vote in the 2023 general elections.”

The Country Director Equity International Initiative (EII), Amb. Chris Iyama, said this on Friday at the grand Launch of the Citizen Observers Hub for the 2023 general elections, an Election Situation Room at Valada Hotel in Jos Plateau State.

He said the 2023 citizen observers hub is designed in a way where observers will be staying within their various polling units to observe the election without traveling long distances but will feed the situation room with happenings from their various polling centers.

Amb Chris said in 2019 the Equity Situation Room Deployed 3820 observers across the polling unit in the country with a lot of commendations after launching the report as such the Data-Hub will monitor and report real-time election happenings across the country in 2023, with an effort to yield positive results and recommendations just like in the 2019 general elections.

He further stated that the Election Situation Room is set up to monitor the election and has 25 data Clarks representing the country’s six geopolitical zones, saying that the data Clarks will be tracking results and happenings around over 207 polling units in the country.

“At the Citizens Obervers Hub Situation room we are going to be tracking the votes of Nigerians, the votes of Youths and elderly, the vote of people living with disability, we are going to be tracking election violence, we are tracking vote buying, we are going to be tracking the security personnel and their conduct, tacking the arrival and time of election materials and different thing that have to do with the credibility of the elections.

With a Dazzling Gaze on the Sky, “Where Do We Go From Here?” Nigerians Cry Aloud

Kefas lamak USA

More than at any other time in the history of Nigeria, the country’s security, stability, and freedom has been threatened, endangered, and tampered with in the last few years. Terrorism and banditry have regularly increased in the North, the Middle Belt, and some parts of the country’s southern regions. It is clear on the faces of ordinary Nigerians that they are helpless, having faced continuous insecurity challenges. Nigerians are helpless in all facets of life.

First, they have no direct access to people in authority when their lives are endangered. Second, they have few resources or the means of reporting their experiences to media houses and even the international community. So, they are voiceless and helpless. Last, there is a limit to how they can defend themselves when attacked by terrorists or bandits. As of early 2023, there are Nigerians in different states across the country whose ancestral homes have been snatched away by terrorists and bandits, especially in villages. Most victims of terrorism must live in IDP camps with nothing, and only food provided in the camps. In search of a solution, most Nigerians are asking, “where do we go from here?” in a thunderous voice.

Martin Luther King Jr. was the first to coin the phrase, “where do we go from here?” which is also the title of a speech he presented to the SCLC Convention during the Civil Rights Movement of 1955-1968. He presented this speech in Atlanta, Georgia, in 1967, raising questions on national issues like racism, marginalization, injustice, and segregation of minority groups in the United States. Ever since, many international social justice groups and national freedom fighters have used this same question to reflect on challenging times in people’s lives, especially when dealing with national issues. So, since Nigeria’s current security challenges are not improving, we all need to come together and ask ourselves this same question: “Where do we go from here?”

My thinking differs slightly from Martin Luther King Jr. because I am asking questions on issues relating to migration, immigration, and transmigration. Should we flee our homes, villages, and cities because our lives are no longer secure? Should we continue to live in fear even in our ancestral homes?

Historically, Nigeria was applauded by other West African nations for the heroic role it played in their nation’s peace and security architecture. The Liberian War, 1989-1997, remains historical to Nigerian veterans recruited in record numbers to help restore peace to the borders of Liberia. We lost veterans to that war, but our brave and heroic acts will always be remembered in West Africa and beyond. Today, those veterans sit at home and read many news headlines on how ordinary citizens threaten to break apart Nigeria’s security and stability. Perhaps, they have also asked this question: “If Nigeria, our country, is not secured, where do we go from here?”

Sadly, I hear governors and service chiefs say nebulous things about the current security situation in Nigeria, such as, “we do not know what to do about it.” “We will bring the perpetrators to book.” “Bandits are foreigners who have a stronger network.” In a video clip online, we saw members of one state House of Assembly crying because their people were being killed and displaced, and they did not know what to do about it. But some politicians take numerous strong policemen to guard them, their children, and their families against terrorists and bandits. Sometimes they also recruit the strongest, tallest, and most intelligent civilian security guards found among the Nigerian populace to guard them and their families. This tells us that the solution to terrorism and banditry is to have many well-equipped security guards in every community or provide the community with a functional and equipped security network. Nigerian politicians, if you only guard your families and children with the best and most robust security personnel, how about the ordinary man or woman? To whom shall they go for protection?

“Where do they go from here?” I implore you to think profoundly and seek a working security solution for the Nigerian masses. They voted for you, so they deserve better. The ordinary Nigerian does not mind if you ask for help from other nations to help us curb terrorism and banditry. Remember, the country can make little progress if not made safe for tax-paying citizens.

The Nigerian people have no country to go to and call their own besides Nigeria. They hope and pray for Nigerians to unite and prosper despite our ethnic, religious, or regional differences. No matter how far Nigerians go internationally, they are still called Nigerians in ‘the Diaspora.’ Interestingly, even some children of Nigerians born outside Nigeria who have never visited Nigeria still think of Nigeria as their home. Many bear Nigerian names and are proud of their roots and heritage.

To the international community, it is disturbing to see how you have turned a blind eye to what has been happening in Nigeria for years, as if Nigeria does not belong to the United Nations. When crises occur in other parts of the world, you immediately respond to those regions and nations, but not Nigeria. Nigeria dearly needs you now. I know you have contributed material support to victims of terrorism in many parts of Nigeria. Your material support is much appreciated, but the ordinary Nigerian wants you to intervene like you have been doing in other parts of the world. We need your presence in Nigeria. Citizens from Plateau to Kaduna, Zamfara to Katsina, Benue to Enugu, Edo to Rivers, and Ogun to Ibadan want to feel secure in their homes, workplaces, and religious gathering. Unless you do this for Nigerians, we will continue to question the status and place of ordinary people in the eyes of the United Nations and whether or not you value our lives.

But it is worrisome to see how you dine and wine with many Nigerian politicians instead of pushing them to be good stewards of the people they lead. We thought that when they approach foreign countries for a loan, you will use that opportunity to have them give an account of what is happening in their state and region. No governor should be granted foreign loans if they do not secure the lives and property of their citizens. Perhaps this could help the ordinary Nigerian citizen enjoy the dividends of democracy. We are not asking for too much, only peace, security, and stability.

To our gallant soldiers, policemen, and women, thank you for all your sacrifices to join the Nigerian Police Force and the Army. You would have chosen a different career other than the police or the military. It takes a brave person to remain in the army or police when terrorists target innocent uniformed officers. I salute your courage. I implore you to continue working hard with the little resources you have to protect the ordinary Nigerian. I implore you to live up to your calling and pledge. Remember, you are making more of a sacrifice than working for the little money you are paid. Nigerians watch every sacrifice you make, and they appreciate it. Do not let yourselves be used by loose leaders and politicians for their selfish interests against the majority.

We occasionally hear sad stories about how security officers compromise their consciousness for monetary gain or religious biases. That is sad. If you do not protect the ordinary Nigerian, “to whom shall they go, and where do we go from here?”

If we all come together and work toward a new Nigeria, a working Nigeria, everyone will enjoy it, politicians, security men and women, and ordinary people.

God bless Nigeria!

GEOMAI DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATION ENDORSED LALONG FOR SENATE

Sunday Adam Jos

With less than 48 hours to the conduct of the general elections the  Geomai Development Association has endorsed and called for massive support for thier son the plateau state governor Simon Bako lalong who is aspirating for senate for plateau South senatorial zone

The national executive committee through its national president Pharmacist Kelong Alkali said the reason behind behind his endorsement through the  gigantic strides recorded by  RT. HON. DR. SIMON BAKO LALONG KSGG, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Director General of The APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the APC Senatorial Candidate Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone in the 2023 General Elections; one in whom we are well pleased, and to chronicle some developmental achievements his Administration has recorded on the Plateau under the RESCUE ADMINISTRATION.

According to him in the wake of this administration’s life God blessed Plateau with a child of destiny, one whose story is better told by his kiths and kin. In this age of unprecedented shift in political, cultural, social, economic and ethno-centric realities the need to give account of people-driven and purposed leadership becomes imperative. A vote for Rt. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG is indeed the ray of hope for Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone.

ITF Is Committed To To Equipping Nigerians With Technical Skills -Ari

Sunday Adam Jos

Director General of Industrial Training Fund, ITF, Joseph Ntung Ari, said the fund is committed to equipping Nigerians with technical skills for employability and entrepreneurship.

He disclosed this shortly after receiving an award of excellence on Monday, from the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), Plateau State.

He said entrepreneurship has never wavered and emphasis on skills acquisition has been premised on the firm belief that the ITF remains the the most sustainable solution to increasing poverty and employment, and the catalyst to economic growth and development.

He explained that collaborations and partnerships between the Industrial Training Fund, (ITF), and other national and international relevant bodies have yielded positive attitude towards training and acquisition of skills among apprentice across the country.

He explained that with the sharp rise in Nigeria’s population, there was need for the youths to be equiped with various training skills in order to cater for the needs of the country; instead of allowing the them to rely on foriegn risky employments.

According to Ari, these coĺlaborations has led to the “establishment of the Model Skills Training Centre, Abuja, Acquisition of Mobile training vans, and the conduct of Skills Gap Survey with UNIDO” among others.
The director general who was also excited about these coĺlaborations also stated that “these are a good example of Public-Private-Partnerships (PPP)” which is the focus of the present administration.
He however, regretted that “in our dear country, rather than collaboration and cooperation, turf protection and the tendency to indulge in the blame game have firmly taken hold in most institutions that have bearing on the capacity building of Nigerians.
“I say this taking into cognizance of recent declarations by persons that ordinarily should be familiar with the respective mandates of individual organisations involved in the manpower development in Nigeria but chose conveniently to display appalling ignorance.
“For purposes of clarification, it needs to be stressed that the Industrial Training Fund is specifically mandated to promote, encourage and provide skilled manpower to meet the needs of both private and public sectors of the economy”, he stressed.

The Director General further stressed that with the institutionalization of the National Apprenticeship Training System (NATS), the ITF will enhance the capacity of artisans, craftsmen and technicians for employability and provide Nigerians with the relevant skills and competencies that will grow the economy.

He appreciated the Correspondents’ Chapel for bestowing the award of Excellence in Leadership and Human Capital Development on him.

Earlier Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Gyang Bere, commended the DG ITF for making the country proud following his laudable achievements of life impacting knowledge of various skill most especially on youths through empowerments and also to be self sustained most especially in face of the dwindling economy.

He called on him continue to do more for the development of the country.

MIDDLE BELT YOUTH WING CHARGE NIGERIANS TO IGNORE GOVERNOR EL RUFAI OUTBURST AND VOTE CONSCIENCE

Sunday Adam Jos

The Middle belt young wing has called on Nigerians to ignore the recent outburst by kaduna state governor Nasiru el RUFAI and vote the right candidate of its choice

The national
National Youth Leader,
Middle Belt Forum Emma Zopmal stated this in a press release issued to journalist says it has come to the notice of the apex youth leadership of Middle Belt that some desperate politicians working for a particular presidential candidate want to sabotage and scuttle the smooth running of the 2023 presidential election on the 25th of this month. This plan is evidenced by the statement made by the Governor of Kaduna State who claimed in Hausa language in one of his interviews that they have drawn the battle line and have sworn by the sword that they’ll make the APC presidential candidate the next President of Nigeria after President Mohammadu Buhari. It’s not surprising that he has been the most rattled Nigerian over the Naira redesign policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria. We are fully aware of his antecedents in 2019 General Elections and the role he played in all the isolated gubernatorial elections conducted by APC since 2019 General Elections. We are a sociocultural organisation and we are not partisan but very interested in the political development of our dear country. Nigerians should watch him very carefully.
It is so obvious that his choice presidential candidate is the most unacceptable candidate by Nigerian youths in the forthcoming presidential election.
We want to state categorically that we will not allow any cabal of rigging elections in Nigeria to tamper with mandate of Nigerian youths in the coming election. Enough of recycling same old elements of darkness and backwardness in governance. We are ready to defend our votes anytime and we will synchronise our efforts with other sociocultural youth groups in Nigeria to defend the mandate of the electorates.
We encourage the Independent National Electoral Commission to beef up mechanisms for eliminating any election rigging plans. This election is crucial to Nigerians like in 2015 General Elections. The country is on the verge of transition again to a new leadership which will pilot the affairs of this country at home and on the global stage. We are willing to partner with INEC in ensuring transparent, credible, free and fair elections.
We call on the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, to step up his engagements across the country, especially where his votes are targeted to be rigged out. Without blocking these leakages, he should rest assured that his votes will be manipulated by authors of rigging election in Nigeria. Don’t say at the end of the day that we didn’t give you early warning signs.
In conclusion, we urge all security agencies to see all eligible voters on the day of the election as citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria not as citizens of any political party. The balanced role you will play in these elections will determine the kind of country we will all live in after the elections.

GOVERNOR SIMON BAKO LALONG DELUSIONAL OUTING AT WASE; SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT.

Sunday Adam Jos

The attention of former Governor of Plateau State Senator Jonah David Jang has just been drawn to recent comments attributed to the Governor of Plateau State, Rt. Hon Simon Bako Lalong at the flag-off of the APC campaign rally, held at Wase Local Government Area of the state.

The comments which sought to disparage and cast the former Governor of the state in bad light as well as scurry some favour for his anointed candidate and the APC is nothing but the last kicks of a dying horse.

One would ordinarily have dismissed the vituperations as the outbursts of a deeply frustrated person who has taken a difficult task of marketing a bad product all in the need to stay relevant. It seems however that, Governor Lalong has just woken up from his slumber of almost 8 years and discovered he has spent these years doing nothing in the interest of Plateau people, hence the degeneration to day dreaming. But for the misleading statements he made, there was no need to dignify him with a response since we know that anything outside his written speeches are not only disjointed but profane babbling that makes no semantic sense.

For someone who has spent all these years as governor not doing what makes for the welfare and wellbeing of his people; in addition to the dismal performance in terms of basic infrastructure, healthcare, tourism, education and all the sectors necessary for the people, he should be hiding his face in shame rather than trying to denigrate the former governor whose records of performance dot the Plateau landscape.

Obvious signs that Governor Lalong is daydreaming, is in thinking that the G5 PDP governors and allies including former Governor Jang are supporting the APC presidential candidate. They have repeatedly said that they do not have personal problems with the candidate of the PDP but with the process that brought him up and the ensuing structural imbalance it has created in the party. Yes the integrity group has disagreements with the PDP and their withdrawal of support for the PDP presidential candidate’s campaign does not in any way suggest that they support the APC candidate. Only Lalong and his fellow dreamers think so and will stop at nothing to mislead the public in order to get favorable feedback for a bad product they so desperately want to sell.

In the same vein, the governor has been struggling to no avail to show that he is in good terms with former Governor Joshua Dariye and that the latter supports the APC candidates. Need we remind the governor once more that this again is a figment of his imagination conjectured to put him in good stead with the Plateau people he long abandoned in pursuit of interest that clearly undermine the Plateau people he claims to govern.

The APC has done a good job of de-marketing itself that the opposition does not need too much time talking about it. Nigerians have been subjected to tortuous life never imagined and they are willing to express their anger through the ballot box. Thinking of delivering APC top to bottom by Lalong and his ilk is mere wishful thinking. No right thinking person will consider an extension of the present situation we have found ourselves in. That is the kind of hardship that Lalong and co want to perpetuate just in the name of seeking relevance.
Many a discerning heart need not be surprised at the way Governor Lalong has used every opportunity he got to say disparaging things against the former Governor, having failed woefully to use the instrumentality of government to convict Senator Jang in a court of law over some trumped up charges of corruption. Plateau people saw how he petitioned Governor Jang to both the EFCC and ICPC and went further to line up government officials to bear false witness against Jang, thankfully at the end of the day the truth prevailed as the courts spoke in very loud voice in defense of Senator Jang . Having lost all the goodwill of 2015 and taking Nigeria, Plateau State inclusive, through harrowing times, the only thing the party can do is to whip up sentiments as it did in 2015.

However, they have failed to realize that Nigerians have seen them for who they truly are and will speak through the polls in a matter of weeks. Taking the Governor serious on his promise to deliver APC in all elections is like believing that the Naira will be parallel to the Dollar as promised or that electricity would be stable. What one can say at this point is “believe the APC at your peril, more still believe Lalong and have more disappointment. His outings at campaign rallies both as DG of the APC presidential campaign and back home in plateau state have been embarrassing. He speaks without the tact required of leadership and his utterances are akin to verbal diarrhea, words spoken without first weighing the gravity of what is said or lacking in communicative competence.

On the accusation of non-payment of salaries, which the governor has turned to a sing-song in the last seven years plus as one of his major achievements, let me state for the records that the Jang administration left unpaid salaries of 4 months which was later paid by the Lalong administration. In any case, former Governor Jang is not proud to have left unpaid salaries but the most recent refund for the infrastructure executed by Jang to the tune N6.5bn is evidence that he spent Plateau people’s commonwealth in their interest. The recent N6.5bn is only a part of the already refunded funds Jang administration spent in constructing federal roads. If Lalong has received such a huge amount, why then is he still owing salaries when there is no infrastructure to justify the spending of the equally huge allocation the state has received in addition to the mindless borrowings he has engaged in.

It is important for Governor Lalong and those who advise him to note that the 2023 elections is a referendum on the 8 years of the APC in the saddle and if they do not have anything to show, they could simply admit failure and prepare to hand over the reins of power to another party. Had the Governor spent his time working for the plateau people and their interests, he would have had several projects to showcase as a bait to wooing the electorate not the needless whining about what he met on ground in 2015. It is unfortunate that 2015 as it were, seems to have been a better place for Nigerians than what the APC has unleashed and want to continue to unleash on Nigerians.

Governor Lalong should stop referring Plateau citizens to what happen in 2015 and market himself and his so called candidates through his performance of his nearly 8 years administration. The people are watching and they will hold you accountable at the poll for your inept leadership, underperformance and the shame you have brought to Plateau.

Governor Lalong and his ilk must stop day dreaming and start preparing to take their place in political oblivion after Nigerians have sent them there for the pains and agony they have inflicted on them.

PDP ACCUSE GOV LALONG OF MISMANAGEMENT OF

Sunday Adam Jos

It was cheering news to the people of Plateau especially when the news filtered in the state is getting a refund of N6, 601,769,470.99 from the Federal Government.

According to the Minister of Works and Housing Babatunfe Fashola the Federal Executive Council approved the reimbursement on Wednesday  “for road projects executed on behalf of the federal government.”

Speaking after the meeting, the Minister explained  that the refunds “were necessary.”

Six-point-Six billion Naira is no small amount for a state that is struggling with a staggering debt and a very uncomplimentary poverty score among 36 other states.

We are aware that last December, a federal team from Abuja visited the state and inspected some selected projects from Jos North to Langtang South. It would appear that PDP completed projects are also included among those that made up the package that have been qualified for the refund.

It is for this administration to disclose to the people of Plateau the projects that have made the refunds “necessary” as claimed by the Hon Minister of Works and Housing.

We find it also absolutely curious that the ruling party is ecstatically praising the governor for “the payment of backlog of workers’ salaries and for being up to date in the payment of pension to retired civil servants in the sate.”

The APC state Chairman in a statement said the party  “was delighted that inspite of the economic downturn being experienced by the country which has led to a drastic fall in  revenue allocation to the state, Governor Lalong has been able to fulfil his obligations to the workforce.”

This administration must be self-deluded! Does it really believe that Plateau workers are this cheap? Is this exiting administration saying that because it is throwing part of the N6.6bn at the workers they will take it, chop it, clean their mouths and gratefully vote for a party that has made suffering a second skin for them? Will Plateau workers forget that they are paid justly for their work and still go out and queue up for a party that has clumsily crafted a political philosophy of “chop make I chop”?

It’s such an upsetting piece of blackmail,  humiliation and manipulation!

If the payment of salaries is for the workers and pensioners to take note of and be favourably disposed towards February 25 and March 11, then APC’s vote hunters must prepare for the shock of their lives!

We are also amused by another reality that has come out of this frail administration since the refund was announced. Suddenly, the ruling party called a gathering and inaugurated the sixteen directorates of its campaign council! This was a subtle hint that “the kayan aiki (campaign money) has arrived, so you will be empowered to start the work now.” They are not campaigning on issues. Misery that has become the lot of the people?

They’ve been stuck in their trenches all this while. They will crawl out now only because there is what appears to them to be cheap money to buy the required votes in anyway possible. Plateau cannot go back this way. Never!

The reasonable expectation of the Atiku-Okowa,  Mutfwang-Piyo Campaign Council is that the Plateau State  government should quickly and dutifully release a clearly well-thought out plan on the priority areas that will justify spending this much needed money now.

Such areas should make positive impact on the lives of the already traumatised people who are daily groaning under an APC-induced fuel and Naira scarcity.

*N6, 601,769,470.99* _no be small money._

*N6, 601,769,470.99* cannot and must not be APC’s campaign funds.

*N6, 601,769,470.99* must upgrade the lives of the people of Plateau State.

2023 Election: I Want To Offer Resolute Representation – Mbakwe Declares

Sunday Adam Jos

…People who are abreast with law should be allowed to make laws. That is how we can help to develop Nigeria.”

…Comrade Odogwu encouraged electorates to go for their PVCs and ensure that they are part of making a new Nigeria possible

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) candidate for Anambra Central Senatoral District Mrs Helen Mbakwe says with good legislation, Nigeria can be redirected to the right path.

Mrs. Mbakwe while addressing the members of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Anambra chapter led by it’s state Chairman, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD at the Godwin Ezeemo international press center, NUJ Secteriate, Awka assured the people of Anambra central zone that if elected into office, her contribution will help to restore and return the country to it’s rightful place.

“I want to make a difference in this new Nigeria we all are hoping and praying for. I will attract the devidends of democracy to my zone if voted into office and I have worked out plans that I will use to achieve it.

‘My agenda is called ‘SAFER’ which stands for Security, Aspiration, Food, Empowerment and Representation.

The Senatoral Candidate who spoke extensively revealed that she intends to change the narrative and make impact at the red chambers.

‘The cost of governance needs to be reduced. We need to turn this country around for the betterment of our children. The problem we have in Nigeria is that the wrong people are the ones making laws for us. I am a lawyer, and I read up to master’s degree in International Law. CIVIL WAR: 53 YEARS AFTER, A NEW NIGERIA IS REALISABLE- OBI

Sunday Adam Jos

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, has said that despite all the hiccups in the country, a new Nigeria is realisable.

He said the project required an overriding task everyone should be committed to.

Addressing a cross section of journalists in Lagos on Sunday to mark the 53rd anniversary of the end of the civil war in Nigeria, that lasted from 1967 to 1970, Obi said in a speech he entitled, ‘’Nation Building and the Ordered Society are imperative’’, that Nigerians must accept the fact that the war had indeed ended.

“Today, marks fifty-three years since the civil war formally ended. Let us accept that the war has truly ended. To try to continue to ‘fight the civil war’today, after fifty-three years, would be a great disservice to Nigeria and Nigerians, particularly our heroes who diligently laboured to secure and unite us. Let our rallying anthem remain: “Though tribes and tongue may differ, in brotherhood we stand,” Obi stated.

Obi pledged to commit the rest of his life in ensuring that the civil war and the circumstances that led to it did not recur; and “build an all-inclusive and progressive society where no individual or group will be estranged, marginalized, or excluded.”
“I remain resolute that a new Nigeria that we are all proud of and patriotically committed to is possible and that it is a task that must be achieved!,” hie said.

The LP standard bearer said that the task of securing and uniting Nigeria should be the only option and “we all can agree that the leaders and people of different sections of Nigeria have done admirably well, particularly in the years immediately after the war.”
He said that the election that was coming up in forty days, February 25th was crucial as many regarded it as existential decision we had to make as a nation and particularly for our children and youths, given the sad state of our dear nation, bedeviled by alarming insecurity, unemployment, poverty, inflation, debt, hunger, disunity, hopelessness and many other indices of a failing state.

The former Anambra state Governor, who regretted the loss of souls in the needless war, recalled the heroic role of then Col. Olusegun Obasanjo in leading the then Biafran delegation to General Gowon to declare that the war was over and that the military colleagues from the Biafran side should be deployed.

Obi noted that the nation was in a hurry to heal its own wound less than ten years after the end of that civil war, when a committed personality from the defunct Biafra, Dr Alex Ekwueme, was the Vice President to a most patriotic, humble servant-leader, Alhaji Shehu Shagari, who was number one being the most strong and veritable expression of the unity and togetherness.

“This democratic leap with its unifying symbolism was glorious for Nigeria, and I deeply cherish such path of brotherhood and oneness established by Shagari/Ekwueme and truly believe that it is this path of inclusiveness and togetherness as one Nigeria we should follow today.”
He said that it would be a disservice to this generation and generation yet unborn to still harbour a different agenda different from the realisation of a wholesome and unifying people-oriented development vision.
“From what I know of the South-East, the Igbo Nation, led by Ohaneze, has at every opportunity been unequivocal about its commitment to the unity, oneness, integrity, and progress of Nigeria, based on equity, justice, and an inclusive society. And I, Peter Obi, a proud Nigerian of Igbo extraction, I am most truthfully and wholly committed to that stand of one united, aecure and progressive Nigeria”
That notwithstanding, Obi said that there are youths all over Nigeria who are lfrustrated because of injustice, poverty, lack of opportunities, unemployment, and apparent exclusion. Such youths could use anything issue or tool to express their frustration and anger like IPOB, MASSOB, Niger Delta militants and blame it on the failures in creating an inclusive and progressive Nigeria.
“A working Nigeria with equity, justice and fairness will also definitely and effectively checkmate such extreme groups like Boko Haram and ISWAP”

He reiterated his earlier position on tackling agitations in the country. “The best strategy for dealing with these situations manifesting in the guise of unclear nationalism, bigoted patriotism and religious bigotry is a carrot and stick approach. Nation building and an ordered society are now imperative. We must wean those that can be weaned through the creation of a society where equity and justice will prevail, a society where the basic freedoms and necessities of life, such as health, jobs, skills, and empowerment are provided.”

The presidential candidate believes that the leaders of various agitation groups will stop their agitations when they see a patriotic leadership imbued with fairness, equity, justice, and a determination for a very inclusive and progressive society. Every rational human being can change when he sees a good reason to do so but noted that such incentives require the right approach, effort, and time.

Obi then described as unfair and wrong approach the use of the misconduct or position of one person or few persons in an ethnic group to stigmatize the entire group.

He said, it is unacceptable the level of poverty in the land today, “133 million Nigerians live in multi-dimensional poverty, 20 million children are out of school, we have near 40% unemployment, with about 60%unemployed youths who do not know where the next meal will come from; our young people in their productive years are doing nothing, our primary healthcare system has collapsed, this should worry us and we need to come together to commence reversing them irrespective of our ethnic or religious backgrounds.”

In Search of a New Nigeria: The Need to Vote Wisely come 2023

In Search of a New Nigeri

Recently, many Nigerians believe that there is no hope for Nigeria because of the extant corruption, insecurity, and economic hardship that engulfs the country. If an average Nigerian is asked on the street about the state of the nation, they seldom use favorable terms to describe this state.
Most people would describe the nation through their experience of hunger, suffering, death threat, anxiety, depression, lack of employment, and poor education. Some Nigerians have assumed that the country would have collapsed by now. However, on the other side, the Nigerian community abroad is among the most respected immigrant community worldwide. This has attracted so much respect for Nigerians who leave Nigeria to further their studies in America, Europe, or Canada. In the United States, the Nigerian community is rated among the most educated, with most of her immigrants having at least a first degree. Nigerians who attended a public university in Nigeria are likely to secure admission to top-rated universities of the world, including Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Duke, and the University of Edinburgh. Also, students trained in a Nigerian public university could work and compete in any organization without obtaining an additional degree outside of Nigeria. Finally, medical doctors who graduate from different Nigerian medical schools are spread across world-class international hospitals. These doctors need no additional degree to practice in the U.K., U.S., or China. Other African countries in the diaspora also look up to Nigerian communities for their resilience and survival strategies.
Because of this view, many Nigerians are proud to identify with Nigeria abroad more than they would living in Nigeria. There is pride, respect, and pedigree in saying you are a Nigerian abroad. So, a Nigerians’ view of Nigeria locally differs from how some international communities and Nigerians in the diaspora view it.
To all our presidential aspirants come 2023, have you reflected in your manifesto what it means to be a Nigerian at home and what it means to be a Nigerian in the diaspora? How do you bring back the pride and glory of Nigeria to Nigeria by restoring hope and a sense of futurity in the mind of every Nigerian at home? What would you do to bridge this gap?
Recently, we saw how many presidential aspirants traveled abroad to address the Nigerian community in the U.K., U.S., and Canada. However, most people in the diaspora do not even have a voter’s card. Our political leaders are the only people who stand between the perception of Nigeria abroad and the experience and perception of Nigerians in Nigeria. Nigerians of all regions are not bad, lazy, or disposable. Nigerians are hard workers, educated, book-smart, brave, and curious people. If Nigerians have good leaders that could lead them aright, they will compete with any developed nation worldwide. We have the population and the natural resources it would take to be a leading nation in the world.
Politicians have previously divided the masses, using tribalism, ethnicity, and regionalism to their benefit. Unfortunately, Nigeria is still on the margins of these divides. As a presidential aspirant, this is a big challenge to you, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Peter Obi, Abubakar Atiku, and Rabiu Kwankwaso. If the masses give you their love and trust in February 2023, would you continue to use politics of corruption, godfatherism, ethnicity, and religion to divide Nigerians?
I advise any aspirant who wins the 2023 election to use their victory to their advantage to build a stronger Nigeria, a patriotic Nigeria, and an attractive Nigeria. The world is expecting a lot from us. The world has so much respect for Nigeria and Nigerians and has so much to learn from us. Would you be a patriotic leader when elected president? Would you break the genes of religious divide and ethnicity to reward competence, productivity, to build a better Nigeria?
To the Nigerian voters and masses, if there is any time to use our voting rights wisely and effectively, the time is now. The world is watching and waiting to see the leaders we will elect in 2023. These leaders can lead us to a better and more robust economy, unite Nigeria, and create the right environment for a prosperous Nigeria, a corrupt-free Nigeria, and an adventurous Nigeria.
This election will reflect how oriented and united we are as a people.

As we go polling units, tribe, religion, money, and regionalism should be the last thing we should vote for. Instead, our votes should be based on our aspirants’ integrity, competence, patriotism, and progressiveness. Nigerian youth and the populace should not be intimidated by political hegemony and rhetoric on election rigging. As always evident, the Nigerian masses should stand together to oppose intimation before, during, and after elections.
Nigeria belongs to all of us, the poor, the rich, the disabled, men, women, children, Muslim, Christian, non-religionists, and indigenous African worshippers. We must learn to speak with one voice. Never forget that we must live together as one. The Nigerian people should not give up on their heritage and motherland; instead, we must hold our leaders to higher standards and be accountable to the people who elected them. We should network and unite to build a nation Nigerians, and the world would be proud of.
To INEC, you stand between the Nigerian populace and the presidential and governorship office seekers. INEC must be independent and impartial in the electioneering process. You must be independent of the Nigerian government, from the presidential aspirants, all other aspirants, and religious and ethnic organizations. The Nigerian people have not given up on you. The Nigerian people have many expectations from this present INEC than the INEC of the past. I implore you to make a difference in the Nigerian 2023 elections. Let this election respond to the quest and cry for a New Nigeria. A Nigeria you and future generations will be proud of. If this is done, hope, trust, and patriotism will return to the average Nigerian at home and in the diaspora.
God bless Nigeria, God bless INEC, and God bless all Nigerians at home and abroad. Sir Kefas Lamak, Kefas: University of Iowa. USA

Group Calls for investigation Tangale Attacks

Sunday Adam Jos

A socio-cultural group, Tangale Community Overseas (TCO) has called on Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state to set up a committee to investigate the unprovoked attacks on Tangale communities in recent weeks, and stop claiming reprisal, as Tangale people have no history of carrying out attack on any community.

General Secretary of the group, Lamela Umaru Lakorok, made the call when TCO visited the two attacked communities, Amtawalam and Pobawure, to commiserate with them over the attacks, as well as distribute the sum of one million naira (N1 million) to victims of the attack, donated by the group.

The General Secretary said the TCO was disturbed by the attack and felt they should send their contribution to the victims, saying whatever affects people at home to them also affects them overseas.

While saying the proposal by the state government to establish a mobile police base in the attacked area is a welcome development, he cautioned that the proposal should not be replaced with the establishment of a police outpost, which will not have the capacity to check attacks by marauders.

Mr. Lakorok also called on the Tangale community to develop a strong security network and vigilante system that will check and defend the land in the event of unprovoked attempt on people of the land.

He praised the District Head of Kalmai, Mr. Amadu Zubairu, for his fatherly role, as well as visiting the areas in the wake of the attack, describing him as the type of leader needed in Tangale land.

“We were unsettled when we heard about the attacks, and so we came to support you with a token of one million naira, which will be distributed to direct victims immediately.

“We commiserate with you and the whole Tangale community, and pray that God will forestall any further attack on the Tangale land and its people.

“The TCO calls on the government to expedite action in setting up the proposed mobile police base, hoping that the proposal will not be replaced with a small unit police outpost.

“The TCO also calls on Governor Inuwa Yahaya to redeem the promise of one million naira (N1 million), which he made when he visited these communities, but is yet to redeem. We remind him that these are victims of unprovoked attacks, and so, he should not play politics with them in redeeming the pledge.

Speaking during the visits, Acting President of Tangale Community Development Association (TCDA), Mr Pinas Tidgo Gambo, who expressed dismay over the attacks, called on Tangale sons and daughters to always support one another in times of difficulty.

While praising the TCO for showing practical love and identifying with victims, Mr. Gambo called on other well to do Tangale sons and daughters to come to the aid of Amtawalam and Pobawure.

“Our children living overseas have demonstrated to us that their hearts are at home. This action of theirs is what we call practical love – only a person who has you at heart can do this. We call on other well to do Tangale sons and daughters to emulate what the TCO did and come to support the people of Amwatalwam and Pobawure.

“The Tangale people are peace-loving in their very nature and we have a record of living cordially with our neighbors.

“We don’t have a record of carrying out attack on anyone, so those who describe this action as reprisal, should also be quick to name the community we have attacked, or burnt their property.

In a remark, Mr Iliyasu Ali, who represented the District Head of Kalmai, expressed appreciation saying the gesture will go a long way in aiding victims of the attack.

Some of the beneficiary victims who spoke, thanked members of TCO for supporting them and prayed that God will continue to bless all Tangale sons and daughters in diaspora.

Plateau Workers Declare 5 Days Warning Strike

Sunday Adam Jos

The Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Plateau Council and the Trade Union Congress (TUC), have declared a five-day warning strike over non-payment of their salaries and other staff welfare issues.

The NLC said on Thursday that it had begun mobilisation of affiliate unions for the action in a letter signed by Plateau NLC Chairman Eugene Manji and Acting Secretary Dalyop Badung.

The letter made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) indicated that the warning strike would begin at 12 midnight on Dec. 11.

labour leaders urged all Plateau workers to strictly comply with the directive.

Mr Titus Malau, the Chairman, Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council (JNPSNC), Plateau chapter, told NAN that the warning strike became imperative following the government’s failure to fulfil workers’ demands.

Malau said that the JNPSNC was particularly concerned that the government reneged in fulfilling the agreement reached on Nov. 11 with the intervention of the Secretary to the Government of the State.

The chairman listed the issues that necessitated the strike including the irregularities in the computation of salaries and payment of same to workers.

He said that congress observed with bitterness the non-release of third-party deductions such as union dues, cooperative deductions and Federal Mortgage Bank deductions, among others.

Lalong: Restoring Plateau Glory with APC Presidential Campaign Kick-off!

Sunday Adam Jos

Jos, the Plateau State capital has always played a significant role in the political development of Nigeria.

As far back as 1962, the Action Group, one of the major political parties of the 1st Republic led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo held its national convention at the African Sports Club in Jos.

With the vibrancy of Plateau sons and daughters in national politics coupled with the growth and development of the Tin City, Jos became a center of attraction for many good reasons, attracting tourists, business men and women and politicians of all hue and colour.

Last week, Plateau State governor, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong rekindled all memories while presenting the 2023 budget to the Plateau State House of Assembly.

He brought laughter and joy to the ceremony by demonstrating that the unity and cohesion that existed on the Plateau could be re-lived.

The Governor went to the State House of Assembly complex in company of key stakeholders in the state to send a message that all could work together for the development of the state

The presence of Federal legislators like the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase and other federal legislators like Hon. Yusuf Gagdi and former Speakers from different political excited the state legislators who could not hide their emotions drawing commendations across the country for its symbolism.

Closely following that master stroke, Gov. Lalong who is the Director General of the Tinubu/Shettima APC Presidential Campaign is set to relaunch Jos, as the political capital of Nigeria at a time many think it is almost impossible to hold any political event of that magnitude in the Tin city.

The big event is the flag-off of the APC presidential campaign which is slated for Tuesday at the Rwang Pam stadium.

Through the instrumentality of the Presidential Campaign DG, Plateau State would host President Muhammadu Buhari, Commander-in-Chief and PCC Chairman, presidential candidate of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; his deputy, Kashim Shettima; the party’s national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan; Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila; 23 APC Governors, 36 Governorship candidates, about 500 National Assembly candidates,
Hon Ministers and other important top dignitaries.

Rt Hon Ahmed Idris, Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives and Chairman of the Local Organising Committee is leaving no stone unturned to put up a great outing.

It promises to pull together the biggest crowd seen in recent times as supporters of the party and other well wishers are warming up to grace the occasion that will reignite the vibrancy of Jos as a significant political destination in Nigeria.

Apart from the convention of the Action Group in 1962, Jos, has played other key roles in the political developments of Nigeria.

It was for instance the venue of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) primary which produced MKO Abiola as presidential candidate and Babagana Kingibe as running mate.

It was also the venue of the 1998 primary which threw up Olusegun Obasanjo as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

One unmistakable underlying theme in having Jos as venue for major political meets is that any candidate that associates with the city wins the presidential elections.

The cool weather and the gentle breeze seem to disseminate the positive aura that results in victory for presidential candidates hosted in Jos.

When Abiola came to Jos for the primary, he won the 1993 presidential elections while Obasanjo equally went ahead to win the presidential election when he was returned at the party’s primary in Jos.

When Lalong was chosen as the DG of the Tinubu/Shettima campaign, he applied the opportunity to reconstruct Jos and retain the aura it lost in the previous years due to crises.

People recall that after the founding fathers of Jos built the city into a haven of tourism, commerce and political meets, an intervening period of crises robbed it of all that.

But Lalong has been able to restore peace to the state and his sterling qualities and patience got him the campaign DG of the APC presidential campaign and is about to prove that Jos can birth the next president of Nigeria.

By hosting of such a big event in Jos, Lalong would prove to the world that peace has really returned to the state and that the state is ready to welcome all.

This is a strong statement to both those resident in the state and those outside.

The positive vibe for Plateau is that all businesses can benefit from the event while those outside can take a cue from the political event to relocate to plateau.

For the APC, it is an assurance of victory as people readily recall when Solomon Lar was the national chairman of a political party, he brought the party’s primary to Jos and their presidential candidate won.

Now that Lalong as Campaign DG has decided to use Jos to kick off campaigns, history is set torepeat itself.

Hosting the APC Presidential Campaign kick off also shows that the APC Rescue Administration under Governor Lalong has done well to restore confidence, peace and security in Plateau State. Tinubu will consolidate on this when elected because of the history of his inclusive governance style.

Dati is the Chief of Staff to the DG, Tinubu/Asiwaju APC Presidential Campaign.

According to the new Coordinator, Comrade Paul Katuka and his new team, the former Coordinator acted on his own without recourse to the body.
In a press conference held in Abuja on 5th November, 2022, the new leadership described the action of its sacked former Coordinator ,” as a campaign of calumny against the personality of Rev Pam”, whom he said had done so much for humanity and does not deserve such image smearing and distractions at a time like this when he is determined and poised to reposition the Commission for greater heights.

QUA’AN-PAN LGC RECOVERS VEHICLES FROM FMR CHAIRMAN ISAAC KWALLU

Sunday Adam Jos

Qua’an Pan Local Government Council of Plateau State has recovered three of its vehicles from one of its former Chairmen, Hon Isaac Kyale Kwallu.

This followed a court judgement delivered by His Lordship, Justice S. D. Samchi on November 3, 2022 in Shendam, Plateau State.

The vehicles recovered from Hon Kwallu are, a Black Toyota Prado Jeep, a Silver Ford Ranger and a White Toyota Hilux Spec Van.

In the suit No PLD/SHD/92CV/2022 filed by Qua’an-Pan Local Government Council (Claimant) against the Chief Registrar (Deputy Sheriff); High Court of Justice, Plateau State; Chief Bailiff, the High Court of Justice, Jos, Plateau State; Attorney General, Plateau State and Hon Isaac Kyale Kwallu, the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th defendants, respectively, the Court granted all the Reliefs sought by the Claimant.

The Claimant had sought for:
(1) A declaration, that by virtue of the Claimant’s statutorily guaranteed existence by Section 7 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and being the owner of the three vehicles namely – (i) Black Toyota Prado Jeep, (ii) Silver Ford Ranger and (iii) White Toyota Hilux Spec, which are currently in custody of the 1st and 2nd defendants , the Claimant is entitled to the delivery and possession for the vehicles for the use, custody and control.

(2) A declaration that by the combined effect of Sections 30(1), 33(1), 38(1)(3) of the Local Government Council Law 2016, upon the constitution and inauguration of Mr Ernest Abner Da’a, as the Executive Chairman of the Claimant’s Local Government Council, since the 14th day of October 2021, the Claimant is entitled to have custody, possession and the use or control of any of the three vehicles namely, Black Toyota Prado Jeep, Silver Ford Ranger and White Toyota Hilux Spec, which belongs to the Claimant by virtue of Exhibits A, B and C are currently with the 1st and 2nd defendants; and

  1. An order directing the 1st and 2nd defendants to forthwith deliver immediate possession of the three vehicles namely Black Toyota Prado Jeep, Silver Ford Ranger and White Toyota Hilux Spec, which belongs to the Claimant by virtue of Exhibits A, B and C, to the control and custody of the Claimant.

After reviewing the case, the Court held that by virtue of Ownership Documents attached in the said case the vehicles are the bonafide properties of the council and discountenance the argument of Hon. Kwallu that he was entitled to the said vehicles by virtue of his position as the former chairman of the council for lacking in merit.

The Court therefore ordered “That judgement is entered in favour of the Claimant and against the defendants,” and further ordered that “all the reliefs sought by the Claimant are hereby granted as prayed.”

The vehicles, which were in the custody of the Plateau State High court till this judgement were immediately released to the Council in compliance with the said Judgement.

Termination of legacy project Bleneson LTD is legally valid and irresvible..

Sunday Adam Jos

Commisioner for Information and Communication,Hon. Dan Manjang, mnipr said the attention of the Plateau State Government has been drawn to Media reports purportedly emanating from a Press Conference said to have been granted by one Engr. Lawanson Ngoa, Managing Director of Bleneson Services Nig. Ltd, the former Contractor engaged by the Plateau State Government to carry out its Legacy Projects dubbed the Lalong Legacy Projects.

During the said Press Conference allegedly held in Jos on 31st October 2022, the Managing Director of the erstwhile contracting Firm made spurious, false and misleading allegations against the Plateau State Government over the termination of the Contract and its re-award to a new Contractor with a view to misleading the Public, currying undeserved sympathy and unfairly disparaging the Government of Plateau State.

Among other things, the said Engr. Ngoa claimed that the Government has no right to terminate the Contract “while he is still alive” and that there is a pending case before the Court on the matter.

Although he did not State the Court where his case is pending or the nature of the case and the reliefs he seeks, the Government has found it necessary to put the records straight before he gets away with his misleading assertions.

  1. Sequel to the failure of the contractor to deliver the projects within agreed Timelines, the Plateau State Government issued a Notice of Termination of the Contract with Bleneson Services Ltd “the Contractor” (not Egnr. Lawanson Ngoa), via a Letter on 9th March 2021 in line with the letters and spirit of the Agreement of the Parties which which allowed either Party to terminate the Contract upon giving appropriate Notice as stipulated under the Contract.
  2. Upon receipt of the Notice of Termination, Bleneson neither responded nor contested the reason for the Termination as given by the Plateau State Government in the Letter.
  3. After the period of Notice of Termination had elapsed without any response or reaction from Bleneson, the Government of Plateau State considered the Termination as concluded, with same having been accepted by conduct, by the silence of the Contractor.
  4. Indeed ,after the Termination, (and this fact is verifiable), Bleneson Services Ltd evacuated all its Materials, Machinery and Staff from the Project Sites and moved them out of the State.
  5. It was after therefore clearly an afterthought that Bleneson went to Court to seek for Orders of Injunction supposedly to stop the Plateau State Government from terminating the Contract- a Contract already Terminated vide the State’s Letter of Termination, dated 9th March, 2021. This was clearly a futile effort to invalidate the completed termination. It was therefore no surprise that the High Court of Plateau State denied Bleneson the Ex-parte Orders sought behind the State Government, as no Court of Law can restrain an act that is already completed!
  6. Eventually, based on a Notice of Preliminary Injunction filed in the Suit on account of Bleneson’s refusal to abide by the a Pre-action Protocol required to be issued by every Litigant before commencement of the Suit, the High Court of Plateau State, after hearing the Objection struck out the Suit.
  7. Rather than comply with the requirement of the Rules of Court in order to qualify to reinstitute the Suit by doing what the Company ought to have done ab initio -,i.e, approaching the Plateau State Government in writing with its claims, which if not amicably resolved will then confer on it the right to institute a Suit of damages, Bleneson chose to appeal the Ruling of the Court to the Court of Appeal, which said Appeal is still pending.
  8. It is instructive that the Contract with Bleneson is a Contract for the provision of Services, which each party could have Terminated or even repudiated, whether rightly or wrongly. Bleneson has no right under the Law to insist on carrying out a Contract the State has clearly evinced an intention not to allow it continue with. It is within the State’s right to do so. By continuing with its work, Plateau State Government is not in breach of any Court Order. If there was any, Engr. Ngoa would have cited it during his Press Conference.
  9. Upon successful termination of the Contract and repossession of the Project Sites, Plateau State Government, in line with the Terms of the Contract, wrote Bleneson to come forward for a Meeting towards appointment of an Independent Valuer to ascertain claims (if any) and to facilitate reconciliation of Accounts as envisaged, which Invitation Bleneson rebuffed!
  10. Bleneson flatly refused to come forward and indeed Engr Lawson Ngoa threatened physical harm to Staff of the Plateau State Government who went to dispatch Letters of Invitation to its Office in Abuja to that effect. Even Staff of Courier Companies were threatened with Physical harm if they dared come to Blenson’s Office to deliver such Mails! The State Government has the Managing Director of Bleneson on Tape issuing Threats of physical harm against our Staff. To think that the same person now claims the Plateau State Government never invited him for any resolution Meeting is the height of mischief by someone we have since come to know as a Serial Liar!
  11. No one should be fooled by the misleading and false claims by the Managing Director of Bleneson that the termination was done behind them or they were not invited to make their claims. On the contrary, the company and its management chose to ignore the invitation perhaps to have sufficient reasons to play to the gallery in an attempt to blackmail the Government.
  12. Following the refusal of Bleneson to Cooperate and put forward its claims for work done or losses incurred (if any), Stakeholders in the project met and took a decision to invite the President of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) to appoint an Independent Valuer to assess the level of work done to allow for reconciliation of Accounts.
  13. The task was successfully carried out and a Report submitted which is available for Bleneson to access anytime it is willing to engage with the State.
  14. Because the records are intact and the fact that the process of terminating the contract was painstakingly followed in line with due process, the doors of the Plateau State Government are still open for Bleneson to come forward with any claims for debt, damages or losses incurred (if any) as a result of the Termination.
  15. As for the Termination of the Contract which is for Services, the Plateau State Government has exercised its rights as enshrined in the contract and has given Bleneson ample opportunity to take advantage of the same terms.
  16. The Contract with Bleneson therefore stood terminated and irreversible upon the expiration of the Notice of Termination. Bleneson and its Managing Director are at liberty to continue to live in Denial! What is more, the Plateau State Government has since taken possession of its Sites and found another Contractor to complete the Projects which could not be delivered by Bleneson as agreed in the erstwhile Contract.
  17. To think that Bleneson and his array of Lawyers are pretending to be unaware of the elementary position of our Law that you cannot force a mere Contract of Service on an unwilling Party and that Bleneson’s remedy lies in a Claim for Damages for wrongful Termination only (if any) is a crying Shame! It is noteworthy that despite the finality of the Termination by the State, Bleneson and his Lawyers are yet to file any Case in pursuit of what is his actual due, assuming the Termination was wrongful – a Claim for Damages, resorting instead to instituting a multiplicity of Court Cases seeking to restrain an act that has already been completed and can no longer be restrained! Bleneson has sadly added to this, a media campaign hype of misinformation, lies and mischief.
  18. The Government of Plateau State wishes to make it categorically clear that it refuses to join Bleneson in its aimless and foolish Voyage to nowhere, in the process of which the Company is serially abusing the process of our Courts of Law.
  19. Members of the Public are therefore advised to ignore any Media gymnastics and misinformation by Bleneson and its Managing Director Engr. Lawanson Ngoa that seeks to turn facts on their head with a view to attracting for the former Contractor undeserved sympathy and unnecessary attention.
  20. Bleneson‘s Managing Director is assured that the Doors of the State Government remain Open for discussions and resolution of all post-Contract issues with Bleneson, whenever that Company and its Management is ready for such discussions.
  21. The Plateau State Government reassures the Public and the good Citizens of the State that all steps taken so far by her with respect to the Lalong Legacy Project are strictly in line with the Terms of its Contract with Bleneson Services Nigeria Limited; in the best interest of our State and perfectly within the Laws of Nigeria.
  22. God bless Plateau State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria as we THINK and ACT Plateau always.

Since he became LP’s flag bearer for the 2023 presidential poll, Obi has not only popularised the party, the support for him has grown tremendously with many youth pledging to work for his victory.

This singular action has grown his support base as witnessed on the plateau Iabour party will win 100f

Following election of Dr Patrick Dakum a two time Commissioner as the Party’s gubernatorial candidate whose track record speaks volume the stage is set for the party to win the 2023 elections starting from the presidential elections

Barr Pwol while going memory lane says his choice of contesting for the senatorial seat was born of his desire to serve the people of plateau state having attempted for the governorship seat in the Rulling All Progressive Congress as elections were not held but selection for a particular favoured candidate this action led to his defect to labour party

He says upon defecting to his new home labour party Stakeholders from his constituency paid him a visit with calls in him to throw his weight into the ring to salvage the zone from legislative emptiness and been a legal practitioner if elected will be a voice to his constituents

Going further the legal luminary said the APC led adminstration has failed Nigerians especially in plateau state the state has been backward owing to the numerous challenges faced across the state which include insecurity leading to several communities displaced and schools shut down as a result of government neglect not leaving to its responsibilities

He called on the electorates to ensure that thier voters card is ready and go for collections as this remains the only weapon to vote out the failed APC led government both at the state and federal level as Peter obi/Datti for president while Dakum/ Pwajok and all candidates for other positions remains the best choice for the people

Man Commits Suicide after loosing 2 tricycle to thieves in plateau

Sunday Adam Jos

A 25-year-old man, Bulus Asuma, has reportedly committed suicide in Jos after losing two tricycles that belonged to his employees to thieves.

Mr Asuma, of Angwan Rukuba in Jos North local government area, is said to have hung himself in his room when he returned home the day the second tricycle was dispossessed from him by a gun-wielding man.

The deceased’s family member, Mr Adukuchili Angai, disclosed that Asuma may have taken his own life out of frustration. Angai said the deceased had lost a tricycle to thieves which he took on hire purchase some time ago and unfortunately lost the second one, in the same manner, an incident he said left him devastated.

“At the beginning of this year, Asuma got a tricycle from a woman on hire purchase to be remitting an amount to her weekly, sadly, he lent the tricycle to his friend to ride but was stolen from him.

“The woman who gave him the tricycle got him arrested and he stayed in a police cell for over a week until he was released and asked to pay for the motorcycle on an agreed amount weekly.

“He paid for a few weeks and could not continue, he approached another person for another tricycle this time to work and make remittances on a daily basis to be able to raise funds and pay back his former employee.

“Luck however ran out on him on October 13 when he was returning home from work when an armed man dispossessed him of the tricycle.

“He came home devastated and met some of his friends to whom he explained what had happened and threatened to kill himself.

No one took him seriously and he went home, his aunt returned home from her business and did not see him.

She said it was unusual because he always returned home before 7p.m due to the ban on tricycle to operate beyond 6.30 p.m.

“She however noticed his window was open and upon peeping through it she saw him hanging lifeless on a rope.

“Her loud scream attracted neighbors, after which she called us on phone and we immediately reported the matter to the police in Nasarawa Gwom.”

Angai said that while at his funeral on Oct. 15, some of his friends sighted a man named ‘Cash Money’ who attended the funeral which raised suspicions as he was known in the community as a criminal.

He said youths immediately suspected him to be the person who stole the tricycle and went to his house around the Angwan Rukuba area to search for the missing tricycle.

Angai alleged that the youths, however, found 10 motorcycles hidden in his apartment with different fake military and police identity cards in his possession.

He explained that the police immediately moved into the area, arrested the suspect and took him to the Nasarawa Gwom police station where he was detained.

The deceased’s family member added that angry youths in the community however stormed the police station, outpowered the few police officers in the station, took out the suspect and burned him alive.

He regretted that Asuma whom he described as easygoing and hardworking did not confide with family members of his frustration before taking his own life, adding that the deceased was an orphan living with his aunt at the time of the incident.

The spokesperson of the Plateau state Police Command, DSP Alabo Alfred, who confirmed the incident said the police was investigating those behind the killing of the suspect.

Local Vigilantes, Hunters Play Critical Roles In Tackling Banditry In Kanam LGA – Dayabu Garga

JOS – The Executive Chairman of the Kanam local government area of Plateau State, Alhaji Dayyabu Garga, has Commended the roles vigilantes and hunters played in Complementing Security agencies to curb activities of Bandits and acts of Criminality in Kanam LGA of Plateau state.

Garga in an interview with newsmen in Kanam LGA while marking his one year in Office at the weekend, said the vigilantes have been working as intermediaries between his local government communities and the security agencies using traditional and community policing methods.

Hon. Garga said there were several instances where the vigilantes confronted criminals and consequently repelled their against several Communities in his local government council and dealt heavy blow to the criminals.

“They have become an integral part of our security architecture and therefore deserve special recognition by way of legislation. In my local government area, we don’t joke with then because of the enormous role they are playing. Without them, most of the communities would have been wiped out by bandits because the number of police and other security men are grossly inadequate to tackle the situation. These vigilantes deserve special recognition.”

He disclosed that Presently, they have more than 3000 committed vigilantes across Kanam local government and we have been encouraging them in our own little ways.

“They need to be encouraged because they are indispensable as far as the security of this local government is concerned.”

Garga also stressed that his local government administration is making efforts to ensure the people of the locality have good roads within the council so that if any village or community is under attack, the vigilante and conventional security would be able to access such a place on time.

The Kanam Council boss added that apart from ensuring that the students learn in a conducive environment through renovation and construction of classrooms, they have given out scholarships and registered quite a number of them for WAEC and JAMB.

He also stressed that quite a number of youths in the council were trained in skills acquisition in several fields and given starter packs to make them self reliant instead of relying on non-existent white-collar jobs.

Hon. Garga assured that during his tenure he would work assiduously with the lean resources available to complete the local government secretariat, adding that the Council deserves a better secretariat, being one of the oldest LGAS in the state.

TANKO, LONGBAN, ACCUSE LALONG TYODEN, GAGDI, OTHERS OF CORRUPTION

Sunday Adam Jos

A strong member of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Sati Tanko and Secretary to Plateau State Chapter of the APC, Fidelis Longban have accused Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon Simon Lalong and all others presented with Meritorious awards by Shabul Mazadu of buying the awards.

a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday, 5th October, 2022 and circulated on social media, Sati Tanko said, “anyone you see Shabul supporting are people who are afraid of his weapon of blackmail. Since he was removed as chairman of plateau  publishers Association he has been so depressed and frustrated that he went and formed a kangaroo independent publishers Association running from office to office given “merit” awards to people who can afford to pay his fees.”

According to Tanko, all the awards presented by Mazadu to the awardees were at the instance of their payments for the awards on the agreed charges.

In the same vein, the APC state Secretary, Fidelis Longban confirmed the allegation by Tanko saying he agreed with everything said. He said, “I agree with you Sati.”

It would be recalled that Mazadu as Plateau Publishers Association, PPA, and Independent Publishers Association, IPA, chairman presented Meritorious awards to Plateau State Governor, Rt. Hon Simon Lalong, the Deputy Governor, Professor Sonni Tyoden, the member representing Mikang/Shendam/Qua’an Pan Federal Constituency, Hon. Alphonsus Longgap Komsol, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Gagdi, member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency, Dr. Fabong Jemchang, Director General, PLASCHEMA, Hon. Pam Botmang, APC Governorship Candidate’s running mate, Chief John Gobak, Mr. Henry Langkwap, out-gone Permanent Secretary, Plateau State Local Government Service Commission, Plateau Peace Building Agency, Dame Pauline Tallen, Minister of Women Affairs and Mr. Azi, out-gone Head of Service.

When contacted over the allegation of selling awards instead of giving them on merit, Mazadu said there is no element of truth in what Tanko said and the confirmation made by Longban was a lie. He said, “Selling of awards is corruption which I will never associate myself with. Awards are given on the basis of merit. Why would someone who merits something pays for it? Selling of awards is like giving bribe to be favoured or be given a save passage when a person doesn’t deserve it. All the awardees we gave award to, deserved the very award we gave them. We never asked for any payment from them. For instance, that of Lalong on Peace, he never knew he would be given an award on the day of the media parley.

Sati Tanko, should have mentioned the amounts we charged. We give awards to spur achievers into doing more and encourage those lagging behind to wake up, for there is a reward in hard work.

In a separate vein, Tanko was heard boosting at the State chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ that, Frederick Lalong, the younger brother to Governor Simon Lalong has given him some evidences to nail Shabul Mazadu, could this be one of them? Only Tanko can tell.

Pundits opine that people who buy awards are those who don’t deserve them to be seen as achievers. That is deception and corruption.

PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY ( PDP ) ACCUSE GOVERNOR LALONG OF INSINCERITY AND ABUSE OF NATIONAL HONOURS

Sunday Adam Jos

INSINCERITY AND ABUSE OF NATIONAL HONOURS

Nigerians, particularly the people of Plateau State are perplexed and absolutely taken aback, by the criteria and choice of awardees to be conferred with the National Honours Awards by President Muhammadu Buhari later in the year.

The past awardees were carefully chosen based on their antecedents but looking at the 2022 list of awardees carefully, Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State’s nomination for the 2022 Awards has revealed the Indian Nobel prize winning laureate Amartya Sen reasoning that development necessitates the unblocking of foremost sources of unfreedom, poverty as well as tyranny, poor economic opportunities and social deprivation neglect of public facilities and overactivity of repressive state.
To say the least, the criteria used by the appropriate committee to determine Nigerians who merit ‘national honours’ in the course of the year is worth asking.

What are the criteria/parameters used for the selection by the Awards Committee? Does becoming an accidental Governor qualify one to be so selected?

Because the people of Plateau view the inclusion of the State Governor, Simon Bako Lalong, to be conferred with the Honour of Commander of the Order of the Niger, CON, as a violation of the sense of patriotism , a wrong assessment and judgment of the profile of the awardee, and regrettably demeaning the distinction and pride which a National Honor ordinarily commands. In fact, the nomination of Governor Simon Bako Lalong has created the impression that the integrity of a National Honor has been compromised and its sanctity defiled by rogue actors walking the system whose sense of patriotism and national service is actually warped and so-called.Nothing underscores this than ridiculously awarding to the worst performing Governor of Plateau State since its creation in 1967, in fact the worst in the history of Nigerian democratic leadership. A Governor that has nothing to show :not even a single project commissioned in the past seven years of his leadership, with the highest record of insurgencies where his citizens have become endangered species at the mercy of the enemys killings, attacks, land grabbing with its Citizens perpetually on the run ignoring their farms to lie fallow, kidnapping, banditry and sundry forms of societal crises have characterised life on the plateau to the extent that his own peace Building agency has capitulated and surrendered to moribund status ,a Governor who presides over an agonising citizenry even decaying as a result of historic economic impoverishment and rape of their heritage, a Governor with high level of corruption as Wikipedia recording a verifiably underquoted net worth of Governor Lalong as one hundred million dollars ($100m) .

As Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, he has had the worst record ever, a situation which has very well ridiculed and rubbished the essence and relevance of the Forum,an absentee Governor. Despite all these negative attributes the nation deems it fit to reward such a fellow.

If there is any integrity, honour, and candour left of the Buhari Administration after its 8 years of cluelessness it should review and reconsider the withdrawal of the ‘national award’ to Governor Simon Lalong to save its image and avoid further ridicule.. Or, the Buhari Administration can change the nomenclature of award to Lalong to be the National Honor of Failure of the Order of the Niger, “FON” then it shall befit his status.

The federal government is advised to have a rethink over this award to encourage and influence the upcoming generation.

GOVERNOR LALONG SWEARS IN 7 NEW COMMISSIONERS; CARRIES OUT MINOR CABINET RESHUFFLE

Sunday Adam Jos

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has sworn in 7 new Commissioners to replace those who resigned from his cabinet to pursue their political careers.

Governor Lalong who performed the ceremony at the Victoria Gowon Hall, New Government House Little Rayfield Jos, also announced a minor cabinet reshuffle.

Lalong who congratulated the new appointees said they were recognized and identified to serve the people of Plateau State because of their personal achievements, records of service, as well as the support to the APC-led Rescue Administration over the years.
He said “you are coming on board at the twilight of this administration when we have just about 8 months to complete our mandate. Indeed, you are coming into office at the time that is most crucial as we tidy up our projects and programmes to complete the fulfillment of our campaign promises. This means that you have to hit the ground running and catch up fast to enable you effectively deliver. While we are continuing with ongoing projects and carrying out new initiatives, the largest attention of the Government at this time is devoted towards completion of projects which will be commissioned in the coming months. Already, we have many of them that are fully completed and others almost completed in various sectors ready for commissioning. I expect that you will liaise with the bureaucrats in your MDAs to ensure that you get acquainted with the progress so far”.

He charged the new Commissioners and most especially the old ones to do more in propagating the achievements of the administration through the media as well as community and social platforms.

Lalong said he has observed with dissatisfaction that those in charge of MDAs are not doing much in talking about the laudable programmes and projects of Government within their areas of jurisdiction. Some do not even defend the Government’s records in the face of desperate propaganda and attacks by the opposition to deceive the public that the APC Government has not done anything.

“This must change from now henceforth as we are facing elections where our records should give us an advantage during the campaigns. I shall be monitoring the propagation of our achievements by the MDAs more closely and also ascertain the passion, loyalty or commitment of each appointee to this administration. We have so many achievements to talk about and put the records straight about the successes of our Rescue Administration and indeed that of the APC at the Federal level. Because we are at the verge of another general election, your performance will impact the fortunes of the Government and the ruling party in the elections. I expect that you will give your best within this short time to prove the point that you were not appointed out of mere sentiments but because you have a lot of value to bring to the table. Let me reiterate that you were all chosen based on merit and on the strength of your records of selfless service and passion to improve the lives of the people”.

The Governor who used the opportunity to thank the former Commissioners who served diligently and gave their best towards the implementation of the vision and policies of the Rescue Administration, said he did not sack anyone as all of them resigned voluntarily with some of them deciding to join the APC campaigns for the 2023 General elections.

He also warned them on working against the interest of the APC and the people of the State.

“You should remember that you have been brought into Government at such crucial time to serve and not be served. This appointment is not a promotion to self-aggrandizement or a window for corruption, mismanagement or waste of public resources. Anyone found to be working against the public interest or at cross purposes with the mandate and vision of the Rescue Administration will be shown the way out. You must project our party the APC at all levels as anything short of that will not be accepted”.

Responding on behalf of those sworn in, Commissioner for Higher Education Prof. Barnard Matur thanked the Governor for finding them worthy to be appointed out of many qualified citizens of Plateau State.

He said they will put in their best to serve the people and ensure that the vision and mandate of the Lalong APC Rescue Administration is realised.

The new Commissioners are:

  1. Prof. Barnerd Matur (Higher Education)
  2. Hon. Peter Akujah Inbutuk (Physical Planning and Urban Planning)
  3. Mrs. Cecilia Mermwakat Yilkorah (Culture, Hospitality and Tourism)
  4. Chief Benjamin Zoyong Jang (Science and Technology)
  5. Mr. Tehlkuk Naanlep Pingwai (Lands and Survey)
  6. Hon. Elisha Bitrus Shehu (Environment)
  7. Hon. Daniel Dung Dalyop (Youth and Sports)

In the cabinet reshuffle, Hon. Victor Lapan moves from Youth and Sports to Works while Hon. Gyang Musa moves from Science and Technology to Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs. Hon. Dan Hirkop moves from Higher Education to Budget and Planning.
All others retain their portfolios.

POLITICIANS HIJACK STAFF RECRUITMENT IN PLATEAU POLYTECHNIC

Sunday Adam Jos

Uneasy calm shakes Plateau State Polytechnic over alleged hijacking of teaching staff recruitment by a crop of politicians in the corridor of power.
Reports reaching THE BEACON by sources who don’t want their names in print alleged that the lift of ban on recruitment of staff in the prestigious institution came with a heavy cost as employing less qualified teaching staff looms by virtue of absurd political interest from politicians licking the candy of power.
According to the sources, for excellence to excel as the motto of the institution is “Technology for Progress” capable hands are much needed as teaching staff which the school should be allowed to handle without external interference particularly from political circle.
Furthermore, the sources added that teaching staff in the Polytechnic should be professionals with resounding record of experience and performance, and not people imposed on the institution by politicians who drag politics in the education sector, not minding the consequences on the standard of education of the school and its image, likewise on students and their academic pursuit.
They also lamented that there are teaching staff who served the school on temporary basis for years who are supposed to be granted automatic employment, but are about being denied because of politicians that are bent on ensuring their interests prevail at any cost irrespective of whose ox is goaded.

Reports have it that the pressure mounted by the politicians led to a stalemate on the recruitment exercise.

Sunday Adam Jos

Plateau State Governor Simon Bako Lalong has expressed optimism that Nigeria will achieve greatness despite its current challenges.

In a message to mark the 62nd Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, Lalong said a very prosperous Nigeria is possible if all citizens put aside their personal interests and work for the common good in a united manner.

He said “It is therefore important that we do not allow the challenges of the moment to stop us from highlighting and thanking God for the tremendous successes we have achieved over the years. We should continue to do our best to ensure that the sacrifices of these men, women, youths, children and people of various backgrounds do not go in vain”.

PILGRIMAGE NOT MEANT TO BE USED TO RUN AWAY FROM THE COUNTY – NCPC BOSS

Sunday Adam Jos

The Executive Secretary Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission, Rev Dr Yakubu Pam has said that Pilgrimage is not meant to be used to run away from the country, rather it is meant for prayers and supplication to God .
The NCPC boss made this assertion in Lagos on 29th September, 2022 following the confessional statement of a returnee pilgrim, Mr Olajiire Ezekiel who absconded in Israel in 2019 but was arrested on 6th May 2022 on his return to Nigeria by the security operatives .
The NCPC helmsman called on Nigerians to desist from anything that would make them use the Commission as a platform to abscond during Pilgrimage. He stressed that the NCPC platform is only meant for christians to go on Pilgrimage in order to have an encounter with God.
He affirmed that the Commission would religiously strive to eradicate abscondment in its entirety as it tarnishes the image of the country. According to him,” all steps are being taken by the Commission to stop this monster”.
He commended the efforts of the security operatives, specially the DSS, the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board and the NCPC officials for their coordinated efforts in achieving this feat.
It would be recalled that Mr Olajiire Ezekiel was a Pilgrim who absconded in Israel during the 2019 Easter Pilgrimage, he was among the six pilgrims who absconded during the Easter Pilgrimage of that year.
He travelled as a Lagos State Pilgrim and their name were forwarded to the Department of State Services, DSS by NCPC and
they were watch listed.
On his arrival on 6th May, 2022 following pressure being mounted on his guarantor by the officials of the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mr Olajiire Ezekiel was immediately intercepted by the operatives of the DSS at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos because his name pop-up on the watch list system.
He was detained at the DSS custody and his guarantor was made to pay the fine of 5000USD before he was granted bail.
NCPC would stop at nothing to achieve zero abscondment of pilgrims, the case of Mr Olajiire Ezekiel should serve as a deterrent to others.
It is also instructive to state that every absconded Pilgrim must be fished out by the security operatives on arrival in Nigeria no matter how long the pilgrim stays in the Holy land.
Signed.

2023: Gov Lalong ‘s Genuine Hatred for Taroh People

Sunday Adam Jos

With few days to the flag off of campaigns the time seems to proving to be a bad season for Governor Simon Bako Lalong as unfolding events have proved to show that the governor’ penchant hatred for the Tarok nation is in the public glare for people to see.

It is even more unfortunate that Lalong himself appears benumbed and overcome by a fit of political miscalculations and social amnesia.

After a grueling manhaunt that culminated in the fall of the mighty in his party as strong and key stakeholders from the Tarok nation in his Rulling party the APC haven seen his plight to set the Tarok nation against each other have taken a bold step to leave the party and move elsewhere like the immediate former chairman of Langtang south Hon Rims amongst other

In a sudden twist, however, and acting the humiliating ridicule in political circles known as Langtang ‘Northing’, which translates simply as a politically conquered lot,

Lalong complied and factored into the Langtang ‘Northing’ callous joke, and substituted the positions, leaving Langtang North with the less fancied position of National Youth Leader and went ahead to make his choice and imposed him on the Taroh people. In the circumstances, Lalong picked his estranged former Commissioner for Lands, a Goemai, Festus Fuanter, the same person he earlier discarded and rejected for a second term, leaving the preferred choice former acting Chairman of the APC Fanmak Enoch Ramnan

While Langtang ‘Northing’ subsists as a doctrine of political weakening and oppression of the Taroh, especially in Plateau South which senatorial representation Lalong is coveting in his post 2023 calculations,

A Tarok son and Chairman Tarok Patriotic Democrats forum Barr Ninzim Enoch Said Gov lalong in a viral video he admitted removing an Elected PDP Council Chairman Hon. Bendel from office and imposing an APC crony into office yet APC could not win election in Langtang South (incidentally with this mockery Bendel , Money in the booth, Zulfa were seated right in there listening to this failed governor speaking garbage against their people all in the name of Party loyalty).

No wonder for the unimaginable hatred Lalong has against the Tarok people, he refused Ubandoma Laven into office, (with the connivance of the present Commissioner of Police who doesn’t know his duties as police officer, he will have a bitter story to tell with his retirement insight, what will Lalong give him, if Lalong couldn’t give his people I pity Ebuka ) even when the Courts roundly rejected Lalong’s choice in Langtang North

From the leaked video he admitted that APC did not win election. This is somebody that claims to be a democrat, is this man a just leader?

The world will long remember Lalong as the worst Governor ever to rule Plateau State openly priding on doing evil without shame.

He has exhibited the highest level of impunity and gross controversies on the Plateau he pointed out

Barr Nanzim advised the Tarok people to wake up and not be deceived by the antics of the governor on the Tarok nation but rather do the needful ahead of 2023 by been United.
