DAKUM/PWAJOK, THE A TEAM
The prerequisite for sound leadership which leads to development and advancement is eligibility which encompasses: know-how, experience, patriotism and forward-looking.
These ingredients are embedded in the super eligible, erudite, venerable and visionary Governorship tag-team of the Labour Party, LP, Dr. Patrick Sunday Dakum and his running mate, Hon. Edward Pwajok SAN, KSG, who have left and are setting enviable indelible footprints in all their fields of endeavours.
EXPERIENCE
Dakum/Pwajok are all experts and authorities in their jurisdictions of medical and judiciary, and both have experience working with Plateau State executive arm of government as commissioners at different intervals and governors.
While Dakum was a two time Commissioner of Health and Information under the Dariye administration, Pwajok was the longest serving Commissioner of Justice under Michael Botmang administration and eight years commissioner in Jonah Jang’s.
This exposure has given them the practical sagacity of the workings of the executive arm of government, the challenges bedeviling Plateau, and all other things that pertain to the economy and natural resources of the state and how best to harness them with human resources for the benefit of the citizens.
FORWARD-LOOKING
A former Secretary-General of Common Wealth Countries, Chief Emeka Anyaoku said, “Good and effective leadership has been shown to be an indispensable requirement for human society to make progress and develop.
“Countries and nations whose societies have attained appreciable development and advancement have done so because they have been blessed with forward-looking and progressive leaders committed to uplifting the welfare and wellbeing of their peoples.”
Dakum/Pwajok are forward-looking that’s why they are successful in their fields. If they are failures without vision, Dakum wouldn’t have been a successful administrator of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, IHVN, Presidential Emergency Plan on AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, programme of the US President and Self-Sustaining Enterprise NGO. He is also a Professor in Maryland University, USA.
Pwajok is the only life bencher from Plateau State.
PATRIOTISM
Dakum/Pwajok have no record of criminality as persons, neither were they indicted for misappropriation of funds and nepotism in the discharge of their assignments.
They have impacted positively on so many less privileged men and women of society and the vulnerable.
THEIR ADVANTAGES
Dakum being an implementation scientist whose practice has elevated and remarkably progressed the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria, Presidential Emergency Plan on AIDS Relief, PEPFAR, of the President of the United States of America, and the NGO, Self-Sustaining Enterprise, will definitely implement all their agendas contained in their manifesto according to the Rule of Law guided by his deputy, the legal luminary, Edward Pwajok.
Aside the judiciary, Pwajok has practical experience as a legislator being a former member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly.
The combination of Dakum/Pwajok will give robust arms of government with excellent working synergy, and also dispense justice to the third tier of government, the local government councils where they will be allowed to choose their leadership in cognisance to the rule of law.
Under Dakum/Pwajok, Plateau is sure of being a WELFARE STATE where social, health, security and economic well-being of the citizens inhabitants are promoted and protected through systems of laws and institutions.
They will also prescribe minimum standards and provide equal opportunities in education, health, housing, pensions and so on.
The Civil service will be capacitated under this A Team for greater efficiency. Professor Tunji Olaopa said, “Democratic governance demands the efficiency of a capacitated public service to deliver the dividends that will transform the lives of the citizens.”
The A TEAM is above all others with rich Curriculum Vitae on the inside out of governance both at the arms and tiers of government and the art of bettering the welfare of all citizens and infrastructural development.
A God fearing leadership mixed with respect for the Rule of Law, the citizens are save and secured as their rights will not be abused, while justice will be dispensed to all without biasness or resentment and sentiments.
