With less than 48 hours to the conduct of the general elections the Geomai Development Association has endorsed and called for massive support for thier son the plateau state governor Simon Bako lalong who is aspirating for senate for plateau South senatorial zone
The national executive committee through its national president Pharmacist Kelong Alkali said the reason behind behind his endorsement through the gigantic strides recorded by RT. HON. DR. SIMON BAKO LALONG KSGG, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum, Director General of The APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) and the APC Senatorial Candidate Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone in the 2023 General Elections; one in whom we are well pleased, and to chronicle some developmental achievements his Administration has recorded on the Plateau under the RESCUE ADMINISTRATION.
According to him in the wake of this administration’s life God blessed Plateau with a child of destiny, one whose story is better told by his kiths and kin. In this age of unprecedented shift in political, cultural, social, economic and ethno-centric realities the need to give account of people-driven and purposed leadership becomes imperative. To this end, it becomes incumbent upon us as a people to expressly show gratitude to God and the good people of Plateau in general and the Southern Senatorial Zone in particular for the trust and confidence reposed upon the Gamai Nation by giving H.E Rt. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG the opportunity to serve Plateau State as Executive Governor for two-terms.
By the gracious magnanimity of the Long-Gamai of the Gamai Nation, HRH Miskoom Martin Mudu’utrie Shaldas lil, whose fatherly love and wise counsel has been the driving force round and about our activities as Gamal people, we the National Executive Committee of the Gamai Unity and Development Organization who were recently elected into office on the 28″ day of January 2023, wish to show gratitude to all districts and branches of GUDO for the rare confidence and trust bestowed upon us to lead for the next four years. Our undiluted gratitude goes to the Executive Chairmen of Shendam and Qua’an-Pan L.G.A’s for their unalloyed support towards all activities of GUDO. To our illustrious sons and daughters in government and private practice we are eternally grateful! We are resolved with one voice to serve our people with every sense of commitment and responsibility with a view. to building a better Plateau.
The Gamai Unity and Development Organization is the socio-cultural platform of the Gamai People responsible for preserving, promoting and facilitating the unity, well-being, welfare and development of our people and land. As a socio-cultural organization, we remain the conscience of our people; protectors of our values and defenders of our identity as a nation. We pursue with vigor, a seamless and cordial race relations with people of other ethnic lineage on the Plateau and the country at large.
In the course of our ambulatory fact finding mission on the activities of the “RESCUE ADMINISTRATION” on the. Plateau, we found empirical indicators with great joy which were executed with overwhelming success towards engendering a sustainable Plateau where peace and progress reigns. The following are amongst the
many projects carried out by the Lalong led government: Restoration of peace and security ® Promoting the policy of continuity and inclusiveness in governance Completion of many abandoned projects by previous administrations Prompt payment of workers’ emoluments and retirement benefits Numerous Lalong Legacy Projects in the State Creation of districts and chiefdoms Upgrading of Traditional Institutions Upgrading of CARST Kurgwi and renamed as Ignatius Longjan Polytechnic Employment of teachers, health workers and staff in ministries of Plateau State |
Establishment of the Plateau-Peace Building Agency which has helped to nib violent conflicts in the bud Establishment of PLASCHEMA |
Establishment of the Plateau Solid Mineral Agency
Construction of the British-America flyover and bridges
Full accreditation of courses at the Plateau State University, Bokkos Convocation of students at the Plateau State Polytechnic, Barkin Ladi which had remained herculean for previous administrations Establishment of Federal Polytechnic Nyak-Shendam, building and employment of academic staff for the Institution
Establishment of an Orthopedic Hospital in Wase
Establishment of FRSC Training Institute Shendam
Establishment of a Branch of the Nigerian Law-School in Plateau State
In the light of the above, we as GUDO NEC on behalf of the entire Gamai Nation, after extensively and painstakingly chronicling some of the many developmental strides of the Lalong-led Government, have by consensus as an aggregate of our findings and engagements resolved as follows.
GUDO NEC has passed a resounding VOTE OF CONFIDENCE and without let and reservation HEREBY ENDORSE the Rt. HON. DR. SIMON BAKO LALONG KSGG TO BE ELECTED AS SENATOR REPRESENTING PLATEAU SOUTHERN SENATORIAL ZONE IN THE SATURDAY THE 25™ OF FEBRUARY 2023 NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ELECTION.
GUDO is calling on all the peace-loving people of SHENDAM, WASE, LANGTANG-NORTH, LANGTANG-SOUTH, MIKANG and QUA’AN-PAN L.G.A’S to come out en-masse to vote for our candidate of choice.
We implore our people to be law abiding and peaceful during the forth-coming General Elections, whilst calling on INEC to ensure the unimpeded conduct of free, fair and credible elections where every vote counts.
GUDO invites all friends and lovers of the Gamai nation to join hands in building the nation of our dreams. All the interest groups, Labour Unions, Students, CLO’s, Youth and Women Organizations and groups of People living with Disabilities to rise to the occasion in a bid to engender peaceful co-existence, cooperation and development.
Time and season are just but the true measures of our humanity; as we grope in the darkness of seeming despair and despondency let us remain positive that there will always be light at the end of the tunnel! A vote for Rt. Hon. Dr. Simon Bako Lalong, KSGG is indeed the ray of hope for Plateau Southern Senatorial Zone.
